I totally understand and agree with you. I’ve always been a bit surprised that their patterns were free. The Halloween fabric is so pretty. You were very eloquent about how important it is to support our local quilt stores. Several have closed near me in Southern California. I have loved being a customer of Fort Worth Fabrics for a while now. When I went to their site to order the mystery quilt kit, I decided to treat myself to the matching large quilt kit, the bunting panel, the matching pillow kit and backing for them all. My birthday is coming up this month so Happy Birthday to me! I love decorating for Halloween and while I keep it sweet and gentle for our church’s Fall Faire/Trunk or Treat, I will enjoy having a more grown up version in our family room. I’m looking forward to your tutorials and thank you in advance for making them for us.

Ahhhh I have been eyeing those fabrics but didn’t know what to make with them. I am heading over there now to purchase the kit and join in on this sew along. I totally understand and stand by FWFS on this. They have done so much for the quilting community and I will continue to support them.💙

Can wait to see this sew along. I'm a beginner quilter and have been a fan of watching sew alongs. This fabric is so pretty I love the joy Halloween brings especially for kids my son loves that time of year.

Beautiful Halloween fabrics. My nearest quilt shop is 30 minutes away. It is a small shop and surprisingly they just expanded into the building next to them.
You stated your view very well. We don't always take the time to consider what shop owners deal with and the cost.

Stephanie, the way the economy is, it is tough to be able to buy fabric period, let alone pay the overhead for a store. I live in a small town and our quilt shop is in the same boat. Jodi, Thank You for donating a quilt kit for the sew along. I have never done a sew along or bought a kit due to budget constraints. I would love to take part in the Halloween Sew Along. Have a wonderful evening and even if I don't win the quilt I will still follow the sew along and see how beautiful the quilt turns out. Have a great evening!
Jodie and FWFS has always been so gracious on providing patterns for their projects I have not been able to purchase all of the kits, but try to support them the best I can. The fabrics in this Halloween kit are great.

Thanks for your honest explanation. I always try to support We have had 6 different shops in the last 25 years. Last one lasted over 10 years. I miss not having local. Its like therapy close shop. Happy Halloween and take care of

I enjoy Halloween quilts and I need one for my bed and I have been looking for fabrics but realized that manufacturers have raised prices so much that it's only a matter of time before businesses start shutting down
I love Halloween! Some of the new lines coming out are really nice this year. I feel ya on losing quilt stores. So much of the fabric I buy is on line now. Not always ideal but between shops closing or cutting their hours it gets hard trying to make it in person. I still go whenever I can.

Stephanie, I don’t want to offend anyone with my comment but I know I am not the only one that feels this way.I would love to be able to buy every kit that I wanted,but that isn’t possible when you live on a fixed income since quilting is a hobby.I don’t sell my quilts they are for family. I love to watch UA-cam and see the different ideas people have and all the beautiful fabrics.I buy the patterns and a lot of fabric,but I do have to buy from where I can get the best price.Our area has no quilt shops for miles.JoAnns is bout hour away and hobby lobby but that’s it.i love what everyone offers on UA-cam,and we have to pay for that too,y’all are very smart people and I have learned a lot( and bought a lot) the 2 years I have had UA-cam.
