ABOUT US
Michael and Halef live in Atlanta, GA, but are originally from Canada and Indonesia, respectively. They love to travel and try to do it as much as possible. They are currently on a long-term round the world trip!
We were on a big ship 🚢 we started a Cape Horn and then headed down. The Drake Passage was pretty rough At first I thought it was fun but after a full day of that I was ready for smooth seas. Love the videos
Thank you so much!! Yeah I don't think we had the roughest of Drake can be, I've seen other experiences that were way worse, but I don't complain. Although it would be good to capture for vlog, I suppose LOL
Did you get sick?
@@theRTWguys What month did you travel there?
That sunset is worth the drunk walk 😆 it almost made me cry beautiful. You got to see Antarctica too. That's pretty cool
Yes for sure 😀
Soaking up all the videos I can, I'm off in 28 days for the trip of a lifetime. Cheers.
How exciting! Enjoy your experience- it is definitely something that you should look forward to. Who are you sailing with?
@@theRTWguys Polar Routes MV Seaventure unfortunately just been told this morning that the sailing has been cancelled not been given any further news as to why or if it is a postponement of the 29th sailing
Seeing the patch on your neck, I guess they help. We are set to sail in February 22. Thanks for the look ahead!
How fun! Yes, definitely take the patch for sure!
Who are you sailing with?
@@theRTWguys We were originally going with Hurtigruten but with the pandemic they changed some schedules. We are now going with Ponant on the Le Lyrial. I also enjoyed your video on Buenos Aires for ideas on what to do with the little time we will be there. Thanks again!
Use powdered ginger, Safeway sells the tablets. No burping up any of it or heartburn at all. You can take the gel caps at any time wether your sick yet or not. Dramamine just makes you dream crazy stuff and makes your senses dull.
Handy that they leave barf bags around the ship. They do a roll call every day? I bet you have had SO many people mispronounce your name! Nice that they let you into the bridge. "666" for emergencies??! 😳😂 Beautiful sunset shots; makes us wanna leave right now for a cruise! Do you know what makes the Drake Passage so famously rough?
It's because it's got a ginormous circle of water currents, from all the others warmer currents from the equator hitting the fridgid water surrounding the south pole. It swirls around the whole content very fast
Thanks for sharing! I'm mentally preparing for this....
Absolutely! Enjoy 🙂
Absolutely! Enjoy 🙂
Lol everyone eating like it's nothing. I'd probably be passed out in the cabin. On one hand I'm pretty sure I'd get sick but on the other I am curious to find out if I would :P
Are those dots on your neck for seasickness?
Hahaha, it could get bad at times, but we were lucky (and a bit disappointed) that it didn't get as bad as we saw in some other videos. Are you planning on going to Antarctica? Make sure to check out some of our other Antarctica vlogs in our playlist!
@@theRTWguys Not anymore after seeing these videos lol. I've only ever done a river cruise, yet to do an ocean cruise, think I'll start with a nice calm one in the Mediterranean 😅
Hahaha - fair enough! That sounds very calm and inviting!

Did you guys throw up when crossing drake passage? I can see you are not feeling very well.
Nope, we had our motion sickness patches on 😃
The chairs chained to the floor...The small, older ferries of my childhood {1970} were also secured in this way. just to cross the English Channel.
Oh hahaha that's the old school way I suppose 😅
Does the ship reach shelter islands or antarctica on the 2nd evening of the drake passage?
Yes!
@@theRTWguys thanks a lot! I was wondering if the drake was one bad night or two.
I am so jealous of every single person that can dp this without spending the whole time drugged out on dramamine. It would be so enjoyable but I would be sick as a dog.
It was a unique experience for sure.
And those ear patches things that we used were really helpful.
Is Oneocean still in business? I cringe looking at this rust bucket in rough sea.
No, they were gone 😪
Dial 666 on your way to Antarctica? How fitting!
😂
Those patches really work?
Absolutely! 😀🇦🇶
Yes they help hugely {at least they did for me on 24hrs of constant movement in vehicles and then on the Irish Sea..and I sometimes can't travel in a car as a passenger for 20 mins without feeling motion sick} The little dot patches are called Transderm Scōp, and in UK are prescription only, as a powerful drug derived from scopolamine.
I could look around on the minibus and walk around a rocking vessel without feeling any nausea..a blessed relief.
How many das was it? great video by the way! I didn't know this was a thing.
What, the Antarctica Cruise? It was 10 day cruise from and back to Ushuaia, Argentina :)

Oh, that's awesome, thank you so much! And yes, we will be traveling around the world, creating great contents!
I would TOTALLY do an Antarctic Cruise.
Seems like the entire dining area was not safe for sea, someone didn't do their walk through lol
LOL
was there wifi on board?
No internet whatsoever on our ship. However, there are a few other ones that do have Wi-Fi.
Que bonitos paisajes tiene el sur, los sigo desde que llegaron a Argentina 👋😎
Gracias 😎
That’s a tamer Drake Shake
For sure 😀
That's the devil's number
Yes!! 😈

there is no need for the Music drowning out the natural sounds 😡
🤷
Music gotta go. Otherwise great vid.
Thank you!
If you watch 2 X speed, the music is better 😂
The music is fine
@@BoatsNhoes824 No it's not, it is muzak from 1970s elevators, distracting and as enticing as wet Kleenex tissues.
