USA, Canada, and Mexico are jointly hosting the 2026. Hosting the World Cup has proven for most host countries that it isn't really worth bidding if theyre required to spend billions on new stadiums etc. USA Canada and Mexico already have everything needed to host the world cup and don't need to spend nearly as much
Sepp Blatter and his crew. Those people should be jailed, but instead they used their bribe money to eventually sweep their scandals under the Fifa rug and avoid any harsh punishment.
This was something made blatant to me when Rio/brazil won the bid for the Olympics for 2016 and the world cup in 2014. A city and country notorious for decimating human rights. They destroyed entire favelas for stadiums without any new emergency housing construction and now their stadiums are literally derelict. Considering the Olympics IOC is also an organisation based in Switzerland and it works eerily similar to the FIFA exec board. Corruption in sport is blatant.
The media criticized the Brazil hosting the games, what are you talking about. Even in this video they allege that Germany hosting the world cup was due to corruption. They are criticizing everything. What makes this hypocritical?
This is misinformation... the FIFA President has submitted the idea of an organization with North and South Korea to unite the countries under the emblem of football.
The World Cup isn't corrupt when the host is a western nation but when the countries you don't like get to host it, it becomes corrupt. If you want to have a separate World Cup, maybe you guys should organize your own World Cup filled with your own teams while the "corrupt" countries that are left out host their own World cup. 32 countries play in the World Cup. Europe gets 13 slots, which is almost half of the available slots and half of the number of countries in Europe. Meanwhile, Africa, which has 54 countries (the most in the world), gets just 5 slots. If that isn’t corruption, then tell me what is.
Thats not corruption thats judt logic, Europe and South america get more positons because they have BETTER teams, if africa became better, theyd have more places
It seems that when the World Cup isn't hosted in a Western country, there's a tendency to cry foul and label it as corruption. It's as if some people in the West are ignorant of the fact that it's called the World Cup for a reason. Perhaps they're just upset about missing out on the profits it's very clear atp
Of course not. But Brazil decided to build these stadiums far away (Amazon, West, etc) to show the entire country to the world. It's like the US deciding that Alaska should host a game in the 2026 WC. Total absurd.
FIFA Declared that 2014 be a South American Tournament so only those nations could bid and in the end it was just Brazil who had their bid so no need to buy votes when Brazil was the only candidate
Just because FIFA took the bribes, is no excuse for countries like The USA, France, and The UK, to accept the invitation to play. If the developed world was as outraged by the corruption as they pretended to be, they would simply not go. Their presence at this event speaks volumes. The corruption is accepted, if not endorsed by all countries attending.

I'd like an explanation video on the FBI's international powers, because you hear in this video of them accusing and arresting FIFA people, but how do they have the jurisdiction to do that? Unless this is a different "FBI" at work here?
The bribe-taking and bribe-giving I think happened in New York City. Under Interpol rules, if a crime happens in U.S. territory and there is strong evidence--video evidence, witness evidence, etc.--showing said crimes occurred within the U.S., then the FBI and other U.S. authorities can then call for those alleged criminals to be hailed back to the U.S. to be tried in U.S. courts. All signatories to Interpol are allowed this privilege. So if criminals commit crimes on Swiss soil, and those criminals then escape to the U.S., then Swiss police authorities can demand that the U.S. hail those criminals and send them to Switzerland to bring them to justice in Swiss courts.
Only authoritarian governments are capable of doing such things? I guess 90s Germany was authoritarian then; according to you. Qatar did what it could to win the bid. It basically transformed their country for it. As for the bribes, sure they saw an opportunity and they took it. This isn't on the nations who want to win the bid because even after what Qatar prepared for to win it, some other nation would've bribed and won. So, they took their chance. The issue is FIFA exco corruption. FIFA's internal players is the issue itself.
It’s really wrong; yet I imagine that if I was in the same spot as the EXCO members and had a 5 million dollar check sitting right in front of me, I’d think about all the ways the world is unjust, and cash that check. At least 2/3 of those countries have a football culture.

who is here after Argentina vs Croatia and Argentina awarded free penalty ? Got to love these fixed games . Amazing part is that there are still humans out there that think football matches are not fixed :) I am from Croatia and i know Croatia sold so far 2 games in history of world cups. We even know how much money was given to who and who made the deals .. France vs Croatia semi finals sold to France for 17 million euro and political help for Croatia during our post war time. France vs Croatia finals sold for 32 million euro and back up to entering EU community. My dears the world cup is nothing but a political market . what i find strange is that in 2022 after so many documentaries on how all world cups were fixed people still watch it and think something will change..

I know people always talk about how Russia corrupted the World Cup, but at least they made it to the quarterfinals, like Qatar didn’t even score 3 goals 😂
also the First host Nation to be disqualified so quickly 😂😂
Such a shame the World Cup didn't come to Australia. We lead the technical proposal, have a burgeoning domestic league waiting to explode and a massive interest in sport, but just couldn't beat the Qatari money.
Our heavy police presence slamming protesters heads into the ground whilst allowing BLM & climate groups to protest multiple times (despite us being under mandatory lockdown) hasn't helped our bids!
Kicking out & ridiculing Djokovic in 2021 who won multiple court bids only to be overruled by the former Aussie immigration minister stank of corruption & didn't also help the Aussie bid & only attracted a negative view of our nation from other people overseas
Qatar did not disappoint tho. Ask anyone who attented
Attended*
The world cup was never going to Australia anyways regardless. It only attracted one measly vote, that says it all. It was a naive bid which wasted a lot of taxpayers money that could of spent at the grassroots of football, now football gets a lot less money per player compared to AFL, Rugby League, Union and Cricket.
I would prefer a World Cup in Qatar or Russia than in England any day 🤷🏻♂️
why not England?
England would be much better than Russia but politics aside Qatars stadiums and presentation for 2022 was fantastic

I'd like an explanation video on the FBI's international powers, because you hear in this video of them accusing and arresting FIFA people, but how do they have the jurisdiction to do that? Unless this is a different "FBI" at work here?
Earth is Americas jurisdiction
when the US Government wants you, there is no Jurisdiction.
The FBI was pretty involved in the impeachment of President Dilma in Brasil and operation Lava Jato
They act like the CIA
If I remember correctly, some of the deals involved were done through US banks and one of the big players at the time was Chuck Blazer.

Only authoritarian governments are capable of doing such things? I guess 90s Germany was authoritarian then; according to you. It seems to me that this is how FIFA always functioned, and I'm willing to assume that every country in the bid did the same exact thing. Qatar and Russia just outbribed them
Good point
Yeah, literally every government/organization is capable of being corrupted. It's just easier with authoritarian regimes, because there's less people making the decisions. It's really just about numbers.
"Only authoritarian governments are capable of doing such things"
I must have missed when they said "only authoritarian governments."

Russia and Qatar bribed 3 or 4 members of Exco for their vote. but who and why did the others vote for them? Like Qatar was still an unlikely choice but still got an additional 10 or so other votes
Qatar had Mohammed bin Hammam, a former president of the Asian Football Confederation, and former world footballers where ambassadors for the Qatar bid

no
this is what happens when one organisation has a monopoly on something this lucrative. It's why the super league should've happened. A competing organisation is a must. Now it unfortunately will never happen.

There’s shadiness everywhere, and it’s hard to make it in this world. Sometimes the cards play right into your hands, but more often than not, they don’t. I would have taken it too. Just a thought.
Nah dude , it’s the principles. Those corrupted EXCO have no proper principles to live the life no matter how unjust the world is. If they are a good man, they wouldn’t bend to that. Not to mention as someone who’s sitting at one of the most powerful positions, the proper principles are more important for them, yet they bent.
