Beagle Freedom Project takes in beagle family from Envigo

- This beagle Mommy spent her entire life in a cage at Envigo, being forced to breed litter after litter for laboratories. Her puppies were destined to be sent to research facilities as test subjects, or stay and be used for breeding, like their Mother. Since Envigo finally closed, 4000 beagles have been disbursed around the country and this family ended up in a crowded shelter. Luckily, because of our Shelter safeguard program, a kind staff member contacted BFP to help re-home this vulnerable family of 9. We immediately jumped in to action and secured them in to our protection.
💙 Please welcome Mia and her 8 puppies; Iris, Dahlia, Bonnie, Jillian, Indigo (male), Pebbles, Bluebelle and Lilly!
As you can see Mia is a senior who has had to endure pregnancies since she herself was a puppy. She will need medical care as she has arthritis and other health concerns including a mass under her chin.
We cannot take away their past, but with your help, we can ensure them all a bright and beautiful future.

Thank you for saving Mia and her puppies! Beagles are the greatest. I grew up with a beagle, and he was my best friend and companion. Bravo to everyone who is helping these gentle creatures find homes, and I hope the monsters responsible for the inhuman treatment of these gentle dogs will be thrown in prison. These adorable dogs would have been tortured in labs that use them to test products (Proctor & Gamble, Tide, L'Oreal, Dawn, etc.). Please don't buy products that torture animals in their labs. Look for "we-don't-test-on-animals" icon on products you buy. The people who managed and worked at Envigo are savages. They will change their name, their location, and open another torture chamber for beagles in another state.
I love everything about this entire story. I get so choked up thinking of how horribly these pups were treated. And then I see these videos and they immediately put a smile on my face! Thank you to everyone involved in saving these beautiful little souls. Because of all of you, these sweethearts will finally have the best lives they could have ever hoped for!

I filled out an adoption application for Dahlia, I really hope I get contacted, she’s such a pretty girl. I have an 8 year old Beagle at home who would love a little sister to play with!
A bouquet of beagles. So beautiful. My husband and I adopted MoJo from the Humane Society of Tulsa on August 4th. At the time no shelter/rescue group from the St. Louis area had any of the Envigo beagles up for adoption.
Our boy is so full of curiosity and is a ball of energy. He is approx. 1 yr. 5 mo. He needs a great deal of patience. He needs to learn all about living out a kennel.
