Huddison I thought flying from Heathrow or Gatwick with Vat Sim looked really scary.. Could I perhaps suggest, you pick a smaller local airport with less taxi ways etc to show us in the next Vat Sim video.. Its a scary thought to jump to Vat Sim but taking it in small easy steps would not scare us off... Just a thought?
If you don't remove Ground Aircraft Density in General Options/Traffic, you'll get AI aircraft spawned in on gates at an airport - so best to reduce/remove it.

I am going to try Vatsim, thanks for the startup tutorial. By the way ICAO for the letter "U" = Uniform, I heard Unicorn but I have old ears. ATPL RW
I did indeed say Unicorn part way through the video, but corrected myself when communicating to ATC ;)

That's not a bad suggestion; I'll investigate Vatsim ATC at London City (or similar).
Looks scary to me too. I'd try to find the smallest airport ever :) I'm sure there's a way to find where ATC is available ?

When you set your flight conditions, you shouldn’t get traffic. So no need to set traffic in general settings.
