Sue that Dr that cleared him to fly. People have their priorities wrong. The Airline has a duty to many other passengers.

CBC has contacted five top cardiologist and all of them stated to be a major cardiac event that necessitated diversion of plane to nearest airport.
Clearly, it was a calculated move! Shame, Air Canada

It so unfortunate the man passed away before having an opportunity to start a new life in Canada. My hubby is a pilot and they have to rely heavily on the medical companies on the ground for guidance. It is sadly cumbersome and expensive to redirect. Not like pulling off the highway at a rest stop. It's not cheap either. If airlines are to pick up the tab for every redirect, it will be eventually passed along to those of us who fly. Money makes the world go round. Cold and unfeeling. Business is business.

Sorry for her loss but gosh.. was she willing and able to pay for the redirection of the flight?

Very sorry to hear your comment. So it again comes to money versus human life.
Would you say the same if it were you or any of your family members who suffered?
This is not the responsibility of the passenger to pay for diversion but the airlines who have millions of dollars of insurance.

@@shanupande8060 I wasn't trying to be callous. This situation is something my family faced every time we would fly given a health concern of one of our children . We had to provide an indemnity to the airline or sign a document to say we understood our child may pass without diversion.

@@sierrajayne1913 wow!! I am appalled to see your comment. May God bless you with some sense and kindness at least towards your own child

@@ShivamAroraa Fortunately our children are tremendously loved and cared for. And I guess we're also fortunate to be blessed with funds to indemnity an airline should such a sad occasion arise. I'm sorry you are such a bitter person. Wishing you peace and blessings as you grieve your loss. Pls, no need to apply to my post!
