- Join us for our returning series Lessons From China, where we are delighted to welcome Stéphane Wilmet, Former Chief Consumer Officer at L'Oréal China. This virtual series explores the transformation of Marketing and PR in the region, changes in consumer behavior, the impact of technology on media, and the emergence of new business models.
Chinese consumers are one of the most sophisticated consumers across a wide spectrum of categories, especially when it comes to beauty. Understanding what they desire is the key to understanding the future of consumption in China and in other markets.
Paul Lin, Adjunct Professor at NYU Shanghai, hosted our esteemed guest as Stéphane guides the audience through his experiences at L'Oréal and how to build modern brands that resonate in one of the largest beauty markets in the world.
About Stéphane Wilmet
Stéphane Wilmet is an experienced executive with 30 years of experience in building sustainable consumer beauty brands in China and the US and completing successful M&A in China and the United States. His previous experiences have included: L’Oréal China (Chief Consumer Officer) in charge of consumer strategic branding, insights, foresights and M&A L’Oréal China & L'Oréal USA/Canada (General Manager) responsible for Asian and Global brands; L’Oréal USA (M&A SVP) with 3 acquisitions now in top 10 beauty brands for Chinese consumers; and the Board Director of Toys’ R’ Us Asia. He has received Master’s Degrees from the University of Texas - Austin and from the Emlyon Business School in France.
