Its very difficult to move away from a situation that is so paramount in the life of anyone anywhere. A Very serious event in where the person involved has to show they can learn,evolve, and hopefully turn a bad thing into a point to launch themselves into the type of person they dream of becoming.
In retrospect, we all know how he COULDVE handled that situation. He exhibited & displayed a level of restraint and control in spite of his much documented enjoyment & comfortability with venturing into careless impulsivity.... ...with all considered, this was handeled relatively well. What i suspect happened behind the scene was that his publicist didnt provide producers with a list of what he can and cant be asked...nor do i think this interview would have taken place had he done that.....i do, however, think they went into this thinking that Robin made Chris believe she liked him and was on his side & rooting for his success.. .but as soon as the cameras rolled and she put her journalist hat, she simply asked the questions everyone (at that time) prob wanted to know ...eventually insulting Chris, downing his mood & immediately putting him on the defense. Had she waited till the end and closing out with the salaciousness, she prob wuldve faired much, MUCH, better. But she chose not to. OR she sensed the interview was going left from the jump and wuld prob end quickly so instead of being used as JUST a vehicle for increased album sales, perhaps she, as kindly as poss dived instanteneously into the rihannna scandal and whether or not the lifting of the retraining order has led to him and riri crossing paths/bettered their relationship POST beating.

In retrospect, we all know how he COULDVE handled that situation.
He exhibited & displayed a level of restraint and control in spite of his much documented enjoyment & comfortability with venturing into careless impulsivity.... ...with all considered, this was handeled relatively well.
What i suspect happened behind the scene was that his publicist didnt provide producers with a list of what he can and cant be asked...nor do i think this interview would have taken place had he done that.....i do, however, think they went into this thinking that Robin made Chris believe she liked him and was on his side & rooting for his success.. .but as soon as the cameras rolled and she put her journalist hat, she simply asked the questions everyone (at that time) prob wanted to know ...eventually insulting Chris, downing his mood & immediately putting him on the defense.
Had she waited till the end and closing out with the salaciousness, she prob wuldve faired much, MUCH, better. But she chose not to.
OR she sensed the interview was going left from the jump and wuld prob end quickly so instead of being used as JUST a vehicle for increased album sales, perhaps she, as kindly as poss dived instanteneously into the rihannna scandal and whether or not the lifting of the retraining order has led to him and riri crossing paths/bettered their relationship POST beating.

This is NOT him being humble. He did NOT have the right to be irritated. True repentance and true redemption is accepting all the consequences of what comes with your choices. Putting your personal opinions to the side for a minute, I think it’s quite clear that he hadn’t forgiven himself at this point in his life. His own mother was a victim of DV and to now be seen in the light of an abuser definitely bothered him. He was only 20 years old at this point still struggling to adapt to the rapid change in public perception. He deserved all the backlash for his actions and he definitely could have handled this interview better but he was not mature enough to understand that most people will not be able to “get over it” that quick some may never. If you watch later interviews he is more mature and open when discussing his DV incident.
