This is an excellent product and cheaper than the PMS5 which costs $75; more really as the exchange and international fee. I have the PMS5 and it gets updated frequently and has most of the features that this product has but the map resolution is superior. I love the autopilot feature of the PMS5 and works well especially with all the BlackSquare planes. It won't, however, give you an autopilot if the plane does not have one. You can also get it from the pulldown menu so I never use the 530 as the 750 is much easier to use.
The map resolution is superior on the PMS ?
It does have a dark mode with the charts both in charts and approach overlay. I wish it had WX radar or even DTN radar other than that I’m happy with it. VNav is awesome
Good product but like some of the GPS simulators for X-Plane they are using the Garmin trainer as the functionality for the GPS, this makes is very real world but are constrained by the AIRACC updates that Garmin puts into the trainer. They are typically able to be updated with a real Garmin subscription, otherwise you need to wait for Garmin to release a new trainer and then for TDS to update their code to include the new trainer.
This this this. I wanted to use this in the past and this was a complete non-starter for me. I do not want to be using outdated cycles for my nav data.
Apparently they are able to use Navigraph now as a Pro upgrade. That's just my understanding from reading it on the website.
I’m not sure if this was the case when you posted this comment, but database updates are integrated and provided with a Navigraph subscription - just like with any MSFS add-on that requires database updates.
It's a shame it doesn't accommodate the use of Navigraph Charts. That's a deal breaker for me.
As part of the Pro upgrade, you can use Navigraph to update it.
the inbuilt charts are not world wide, mostly in USA only
Yes, that's a deal breaker for me as well. I'll stick with the PMS with the hope that Working Title will turn their hand to the 550/750 and then we don't need a paid addon like these in the future.
As much as I want to adopt the TDS version, I simply refuse to do so as long as it continues to be tied to the trainer nav database. Which is probably forever because all TDS really did was hook the Garmin trainer into MSFS. Outdated nav data is a show stopper for me, despite all the other very cool features it has (I like the Jeppesen maps, and the more realistic operation overall)
Recently they released the pro version with worldwide navigraph support... check it out.
I see no reason to switch from PMS, especially if you live outside the US, and PMS have more useful options like Navigraph charts.
I bought the TDS GTN 750xi about a year ago, the biggest reason was to avoid the expensive recurring navigraph subscription, there’s no charts subscription needed as it uses the Garmin trainer, a recent but outdated airacc.
That said my biggest disappointment with it is that it doesn’t seem to auto import your MSFS flight plan. They really should fix that.
I would also like to utilize checklists but I haven’t figured it out yet. Weather radar also doesn’t seem to work for me.
Excellent insight and informative of the software.
Thanks!
Third party intergration, my favorite as the flipping marketplace remains out of bounds for me. Nice setup anyways & good show, as Always. ✈️ Always, is one of my favourite airplane movies, by Steven Speilberg. Lost track there. Lol😂 Slainte Mike 👍
Thanks!
Thank you very much!
Can you please tell me if you can plan a visual approach to a specific runway in the GTN750? I know you can with the G1000. Thanks for your input
Thanx pro love ur work
I've heard it's a great product and closer to the real GTN750, but I also seen reviews saying you instantly loose 10FPS (using it in normal 2D). I don't get any FPS loss with the PMS50. Did you get the same result? It's $75 for the lifetime on the PMS50. So this is a cheaper option. The other issue with the TDI (I've seen in reviews), ou have to wait for the developer to update the AIRACC.
I saw 0 impact
Copy, thanks! That was the only thing holding me back from purchasing it.@@OverkillSimulations
I know this is late, but I haven’t noticed any frame loss.
Yout not late at all. Thanks! I'm most likely going to purchase next payday. Especially with the Black Square Duke coming soon.@@Big_Sierra N
@@onecharliemike6022 Awesome! You won’t be disappointed. The more I play with it and learn all of the things it is capable of, the happier I am that I bought it. Best of luck out there!,
Does it have charts for Europe ?
I don't think so as it doesn't have Navigraph integration.
Good question, opps no navigraph integration. Flip it. Slainte anyways 😂 👍🎉
@6:14 hey, you say you can switch on and off the bezel? but I can't see how you actually do this? can't see your mouse pointer clicking anywhere? ... what would I need to do to show and hide said Bezel? thanks
Great video but no info how it works. What touchscreen monitor are you using for this? Can you give us more info how you made it work?
how do you get the bezel to turn on and off?
Just want to clarify something. So can an ipad be used to control the gtnxi in the sim? I can fly sws pc-12 and use ipad to interact with the in sim gtnxi?
Thanks
So, without bezel how do you complete a Direct To Flight plan update?
As a stand alone on a separate monitor will it work with most planes. I fly the londitude alot. I would like this on a bigger screen with ease of functionality??
Excelente
How to putt the vessel of the gps minute 6:10 Im trying everything and nothing happen
Someone might have already asked this, but can you use this with Knobster without using Airmanager? If so how do I go about it. I looked at the software but it doesnt have any settings for it in there. I think it works better outside of airmanager but I miss the use of the knob.
I have this TDS product and really like it. Lack of up-to-date NAV database has never been an issue for me. @overkillsimulations - I couldn't figure out how you ran the TDS in a separate application window and had the MSFS panel blank; when I tried to do that, the separate window closed in favour of the sim. The only thing that worked for me was duplicating the window using Right-Alt trick. I would prefer to run it the same was as you - on a separate monitor and not in the plane. Can you provide a workflow to do this?
Uninstall the plugin :)
@@OverkillSimulations I will give that a try!
How do you pop out the GTN.
Right alt plus left mouse button, on the screen in the cockpit
confusing video. Not sure what you're doing. Why not use a plane where the screen is actually in the cockpit. I fly in VR so I can't use a tablet.
Not sure why he, or anyone else, hasnt answered you. The reason he isnt showing the GTN 750 loaded into the aircraft is because he would then not be able to use the remote function on a separate device. The TDS GTN/Xi can EITHER be used loaded within the aircraft OR as a pop out and moved to another device. This is called Standalone Mode. So its a bit unfortunate that you arent able to control the device “within” the aircraft, rather you are moving it out of the aircraft, so to speak.
