Just watched this amazing I started work in #LittleGermany #Bradford 1967 know many of these Streets should be featured in #bradfordcityofculture2025 Thank you 😊😊👏
Glad to see some streets have retained the cobbles/sets. My grandfather told me these streets would have a larger cobble laid at the pavement side on a hill so the horses/carts could rest a wheel to give the horse a break. Particularly good on frozen streets.
My sister lived on spring gardens when I was a kid I do remember a long iron bridge with wooden sleepers over a railway not that far away from spring gardens,I could be wrong I was only a kid ,
@@rockysubhan8281 You’re right. The bridge was not far from the garage that maintained the ice cream vans. City centre end of Midland Road. Me and my twin used to play near the bridge. Stopped going near it after the gypsy’s moved on to land next to it.
i am really upset and confused on how southfield square isnt on there as its bassically the biggest street regarding cobbles and if i am mistaken do tag me please but i also believe you should do a video on southfield square and its history
Hello there, thanks for commenting. I am actually doing a couple of these videos because of the numbers. Southfield Sq is on the list to do. Thank you 👍🏾
Could be worth sharing and targeting film production companies.
Lovely to see the cobbles, they’ve lasted longer than the tarmac roads.
Definitely something special about them.
Thanks for your comment 👍

I really appreciate your comment and absolutely agree.
I had one cobble from there at my house in Spain, as a Bradford's souvenir. 10 years ago I picked it from a pile of them.

That's interesting. Thanks for your input.
Great video mate. There's loads off cobbles under Bradford roads and Shipley most just got covers in tarmack so there still there.
Thank you 😊
It is an odd subject, but important to document before they disappear.
Take Care.
I was happy to see Mortimer Row included... one of the best-preserved examples of Bygone Bradford outside of Thornton.
Love this! Great idea to film in black and white too..... ✌️
Thanks. Gives the vibe 😉

Nice one - I'm about to build a garden retaining wall from reclaimed granite cobbles - just cleaned them up and soring the sizes out . . .
That's quite a quirky idea. Bet it will look great 👍🏽
Used live at 20 Spring Gardens, we left Bradford in 1987.
Still iconic look
