Originally from Liverpool, myself Andrew (The KnightStrider) and Laura moved to Tenerife 6 years ago. We LOVE to travel and explore the world! We spend our free time showcasing the very best of Tenerife and our general life - as well as travelling abroad whenever we can!
Join us today as we head to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay to experience the theme park. We purchase a 1 day pass and managed to ride the new Iron Guazi, Cheetah Hunt and also Sheikra! Unfortunately the day was disappointing and we left the park early.
Things improved as we head to Clearwater beach for the afternoon, taking a ride on the Sea Screamer boat ride to see some natural wild dolphins!
To round off the day we go to Sickies Garage on highway 192 for some delicious burgers in the Car themed restaurant!

Amazing ride photography Andrew, you took the viewers all the way on your adventure. It was topped off with a professional, well deserved and entertaining rant at Busch Gardens. It’s a shame it cost you so much but your advice may help others prioritise attraction visits. Well done to you both and enjoy the rest of your holiday.

As soon as you mentioned your cat not being well I knew this wasn't going to be a great day. It plays on your mind and you can't switch off, I am like that with my pets. You love them so much.
We would have had a good day it was Busch being so poor after a long drive, clearwater was great!

loved the clearwater video just an fyi the best boat trip if you want to see dolphins is little toot next to the sea screamer and for the best beaches head down the coast a bit to indian rocks and north redington.
As a family (3 teenagers) who seek the thrill bush gardens is their go to park! We buy the 3 park tickets which includes free parking, lockers and discount on food! Just for the benefit of those it’s worth it even if you don’t use the sea world pass. It’s 100pp so saved instantly. We don’t do Disney, as we can only travel school holidays it was far too busy for us. We spent all day queuing for 2 rides, 3 hrs was one que 😅 I bought the kids Micky mouse ice creams and spent $35!!! I love watching vlogs and hearing others opinions, it’s so interesting to hear what each person seeks from Florida. Great vlogs though Andrew and Laura 😃

We have had some great times, in Busch Gardens, over the last 30 years with the kids. However, it has gone down the nick and we do not intend to go back. We could all feel your frustration, which was exacerbated, with the I-4 storm.

I'll take note of your comments as we are due to go there on June 13th when we go to Florida next week. Mind we do always use the efficient shuttle as part of the 3 parks ticket. Cheers.
Great vlog - hope the cat is ok 🙏. We did Busch Gardens back in 2015 and weren’t overly impressed especially considering the travel time etc. operations certainly left a little to be desired.
Not sure if you considered a day at Discovery Cove? But you can add a 2-park (SeaWorld & Aquatica) or 3-park (SeaWorld, Aquatica and Busch Gardens) to the Discovery Cove ticket. You get 14 days admission to the other parks, for not much more than a standard Discovery Cove day ticket! I know Steph and Jim rave about this feature and wouldn’t do SeaWorld without the day at DC!

Sorry to here you dident have a good day in Bush Gardens 😒 me & deb have had some great days in there 😀 hopefully next time you go it will be better.last time we were in clearwater was 2006 and we done the same boat tip which we really enjoyed. The funny thing is we got caught in a thunder storm on the way back too. visibility was that bad we were down to about 25 - 30mph tops we could only just see the cars light in front and motorbikers had to stop under bridges till it stopped ( not good) ⛈️🌧.loved the vlog 😀 thanks once again 🇺🇸👍👏

Loved this, ahh what a pity about Busch Gardens - rip off though, isn't it. The boat trip was lovely! Rain makes you feel at home (in the UK anyway!) but that was very heavy. Hope Felix is ok xx

I was stuck on that ride as well but we was right up the top just before the drop for about 20 mins in what felt like 40 degrees so I feel your pain

I’ve never been to Busch Gardens and find that there are hardly any vlogs on it and i am always sooo considering going! Thank you for sharing your experience, it definitely does not look like good value for money and you must have been so disappointed! I’ll be so gutted when you leave Florida, I’m enjoying these vlogs so much! Don’t want it to end!!!

I agree with everything you said about Busch Gardens. As someone whos been to Florida several times as a teenager this was one of my favourite parks. But the last time we went in 2019 it was terrible. School kids there too, don't know if that's a regular thing. Also they were just running riot in the queues and the noise was horrible. It was my husbands first time there. We were that dissappointed we aren't going back on our trip next week.
This is my favourite video on the channel, worst day ever and you just laugh and get on with it and go again the next day, legends! Can you do a post/video about car hire/rental advice and prices etc?!

Really good VLOG. Your experience of Busch Gardens reminds us so much of our last visit to Seaworld - both Merlin owned. Poor staff morale, poor standards and reduced customer experience. We’ve not been back to Seaworld for 10 years. We really like Tim’s vlogs but he knows the parks inside out and is often invited to media events. You’ve shown a real insight to the Busch/Seaworld customer experience.
As for the school kids…. The parks know when the schools are coming. They just need to post on the website ‘Welcome to [] School’. We all then know that out-of-control kids are going to be at the parks. Where are the teachers?

We have been Busch Gardens many times and usually loved it, but last time few weeks ago was bad. So many rides was closed, bad service, food was horrible, hamburgers totally cold etc. Really worse day at there.
I made complain and we also got new tickets, but i told that we don’t want to drive back there from Kissimmee again, so they change tickets to Sea World. Didn’t had time to go Sea World, but tickets are valid for two years so we can use those next time.
30$ parking is also so overpriced!
Clearwater beach is awesome!
We were at St. Pete Beach this time. It’s also great and traffic was much better than Clearwater.
We didnt have a good time at Busch but clearwater was great 😊

Hi Andrew and Laura loved your Busch garden vlog . I must admit we have been coming to Florida on regular basis since 1996 and the last couple of trips to Busch gardens were disappointing. It really was a great park to visit and we’ll worth the hour or so ride from kissimmee. Don’t think we’ll bother this September even though it’s in in out ticket . Really enjoying your vlogs . Happy to find your channel. Heading down for a month and you're giving me great info on things to do besides Disney. We love Clearwater beach more than any other. Worth the drive. Glad to get advice on Busch though. Not into wasting time and money.

We like a trip out to Madeira beach & John’s Pass Village & Boardwalk ❤️ they also have a Bubba Gump Shrimp restaurant there 😋

I'm so sorry you had a bad experience at Busch Gardens, I've not been since 2017, I couldn't have coped with those school kids jumping the line, it's not on! Glad you enjoyed Clearwater though and Sickies looks amazing! Looking forward to the next Vlog 😊

Busch Gardens is very much a locals park. It is always overrun with teens during the summer & weekends. Most people who go have APs. The best time to go is during the week, when school is in session. They have been severely understaffed for years. They have some of the best coasters in Florida.
Need to reduce their prices badly!
We are coming next Monday but have got 14 day three park ticket for SeaWorld aquatics and Busch garden , we were around £500 for four of us, paying on the day for theme parks is always going to be expensive but no excuse for the queue jumping the downtime etc hope they get their act together by next week
We only wanted a day in Busch
Best thing is to do is get the 3 park ticket, or even the discovery cove ultimate, which includes discovery cove and the 3 parks (BG, SW, AQ), we paid about £130 in the black friday sale, includes parking, bargain, moreso when you take into account food is included on the discovery cove day as well.

That Tigris I found unsafe, the belts they use don't seem adequete for the type of ride it is. When we reached the top I came out of my seat and really felt I was going to fall out!
we love busch Gardens. if you get rhe 3 Park ticket you get free parking. the lockers you pay a full day locker and swap lockers for each ride. we also buy the all day dining. we prefer busch than Disney which is overpriced

Clearwater is amazing,we stayed near there for a few days on our last 2 orlando trips,great area to unwind away from the parks.A boat trip is a must!

Oh Andrew I feel your pain . We love Busch gardens but the last time we went summer 2018 it was so so hot !!! Busy and yet a lot of the drinks kiosks were shut and the staff were very inexperienced and unhappy . We got stuck on Sheikra in the station . I don’t know that I can go on it again . Should’ve done a night in Anna Marie island for the money u spent at Busch . Oh well next time . Loving the vlogs

Back in the days when kids, especially the Brazilian, their leader would be in the queue, raise a flag and about 50 kids pushed their way thru to join and from being at almost the front we then had to wait for four cars before we got on !!

Have done Clearwater too but most enjoyed St Petes Treasure Island further down the Coast ….. but that time with no kids in the back !

We've been twice this week, rides are amazing and queues were small but agree they are so inefficient with loading the rides, it felt dirty and staff seemed like they didn't want to be there. They seem to have top quality rides but everything else is poor quality. Shame, but glad we went for the rides!

Hi Andrew and Laura, we feel the same as you about Busch, we gave up on it about 10 years ago. They just seemed to close rides when storms were like 500 miles away, nothing ever arrived. The staff were rubbish and just left us in lines with no communication. There is plenty to do in Orlando without the trek there! Get well soon to your cat - take care - Nettie

We went to Busch Gardens in 2001 and I thought it was a waste of a drive from Kissimmee then, it doesn't look to have improved much. You're spot on, they rely too much on the coasters being good and I am afraid its not enough any more

sorry - I have been going to Busch since 2004 right up until 2017 and only had a fab time with the 70 minute shuttle from I-Drive. Ill take note when we return their on June 13th.
Such a shame you had a bad experience at Busch Gardens but there guest relations is really good, give it another try when you go back. I was there in February for the media day for Iron Gwazi absolutely amazing ride but still doesn't beat Velocicoaster
Clearwater is fantastic but I always park in the car park over the road from the boats on the beach front it's pay and display

Rollercoasters , don’t like them and would have panicked with it breaking down , expensive parking and with some rides not working expensive day , still at least they give you some other tickets for next time , clear water looked great , those 🐬so cute looked fun , hope your cat has a speedy recovery , another day tomorrow great Vlog as always 👍

That diner looks really good! My family and I love Beth’s burgers it’s opposite the college on universal blvd in a little complex with publix, really great food, great price and you create your own burger and the shakes are amazing, highly recommend it! I think you’d both really enjoy it, hope you guys are having better days now! X

But instead of getting better, it's getting worse.
I can imagine that you bolted, and went for Clearwater.
Sarasota is also nice.
Gulf of Mexico is beautiful.
Go to Saint Augustine, also nice, and close by 😉
Saint Petersburg is also worth a visit.

Busch Gardens looks like it could be a great place if it was properly organised, but at the moment it looks like it needs a lot of improvement. What’s all that about charging for lockers after paying so much to enter and park? Wow, that’s not on. Sorry you had a long ride for such a let down.
Clearwater looked beautiful though and I loved the boat ride. Sending love and gentle hugs to Felix and hoping he’s much better now…. you must have been so worried while you were so far away from him .

Pity that Busch Garden Ride Park did not work out as hoped! At least the lady from Customer Relations listened to your feedback on things that went wrong and issued two free tickets (valid for 1 yr) for your next visit which will be so different, fingers crossed 🤞

We haven’t done Busch Gardens that often as we don’t overly rate it. Sadly Seaworld has also gone downhill over the years which is a shame. So at $250 with parking for a one day ticket for both of you it isn’t worth that much (£200), but for £149 each you could buy a 14 day 3 park ticket (seaworld, Busch and Aquatica) with free parking at all 3 parks (Floridatix). The boat trip looked good and was very reasonable at $27 each👍.

About 4-5 years ago at Busch Gardens we paid extra money for a behind the scenes meet and feed the giraffes on a truck, but it was a joke because we literally got a couple of leafs to feed the giraffes with that lasted seconds while the Busch photographer took pictures desperate to scam us for even more money☹.
So sorry to hear you had such an awful time at Busch gardens but Clearwater made up for it I think the boat ride looked amazing. We have been to Clearwater and had our dinner at a restaurant called palm pavilion watching the sunset. We’ve now got Sickies on our list to try. Hope your cat is getting better it’s such a worry when your away x

This has totally confused me because when I was there in 1991 I really wanted to go to Busch Gardens. I thought it was animals though, getting close up to them. I didn’t have any idea that they have rides. I got outvoted by the friends I was with so we ended up at The Epcot Centre instead which bored me to tears.
Yes you can see animals too but we left

Shame about the day you had at Busch Gardens, we have had a similar experience with the school kids, it was at 2-3 when they went home we seemed to have the whole park for ourselves. My darling wife Danielle, from your native city used her scouse temper with some of the kids and actually went out of the line to find two teachers and gave them a piece of her mind. We did the same went to guest relations and they then gave us quick queue.
Kids will be kids but the adults seem to disappear when they get into the park.
What I will say though there was one group of school kids who asked every time would we mind if they joined their friends and of course when they are polite we let them go to their friends.

We did Busch gardens for 1st time in July 2019 having never visited on previous Orlando visits. Storms came and we ended going home Busch gardens gave us our tickets, fp , and all day dining voucher to be used with in the year and we where lucky to go week later and it was so much better. Thank goodness as it would have ran out due to covid and uk/USA border restrictions. We did sea screamer it was good but only seen one dolphin and wouldn't have been one of my highlights but clearwater is beautiful I want to visit the marina maybe in fall when we are visiting.

just to let you know you can get the 3 for 2 ticket which gives you 14 days unlimited access to Busch gardens, Sea world and aquatica. it also comes with free unlimited parking, and unlimited free coach trips from Orlando to Busch gardens so you don't have to drive. That's £155 per person so it makes it Pretty reasonable. sorry you had a bad time and I know you probably won't see this because I'm so late 😅

Got to agree about Busch Gardens. It’s got some great rides but the park itself isn’t in the best shape. Even the entrance is very underwhelming.

Hope Felix is doing better, not nice to leave your pets when you go away and even worse when they are not well whilst you are away. Wishing him a speedy recovery. I can understand you feeling down about your day when you spend so much money and it is not as you hoped it would be. I had to turn away when you were on those rides, made me feel ill. At least when it broke down, you were at the end of the ride. Imagine if it had stopped half way through. As the saying goes, Tomorrow is another day.............onwards and upwards

Day tickets are always going to be the most expensive option. Not sure what’s available in the US to buy locally, but from the UK you can buy a Busch Gardens, Seaworld and Aquatica combo ticket for £149 (adult) that gives you 14 days unlimited access, free parking at all three parks and a free shuttle from Orlando to Busch Gardens and back which works out great value.

we went to Busch Gardens last time in 2011 and I think it was quite good back then, but that place has been around for so long, they can run the risk in going downhill. We didn't ride the big coasters though, but I remembered the animal bits being really good and they did have some non roller coaster type rides. I think we did Seaworld and Busch gardens and not Epcot, although I've noticed Epcot is getting expanded and new bits added.

Pity you had a bad day at Busch Gardens - did you check out any of the animal encounters? We last visited about 10 years ago, and spent most of our time looking at the animals e.g. via the skyway and the Rhino ride (as well as watching people getting soaked on the Tanganyika Tidalwave ride!).
We left before then!
