The Preobrazhensky Company of Peter's forces officially formed in 1687; The Preobrazhensky Regiment distinguished itself during the Great Northern war of 1700-1721, (The war where our Motherland became a great power in Europe) the patriotic war of 1812 (They especially fought valiantly at Borodino) and the Russo-Turkish wars. (The war where we clubbed the Turks) (It served unofficially as the life-gaurds of both the tsar and his direct family) the regiment also served under Soviet times after WWII although a bit different then it’s Imperial predecessor.
The Preobrazhensky Regiment was recreated in 2013 as the 154th Preobrazhensky Independent Commandant’s Regiment, the official honor gaurd regiment of the Rusian Armed Forces stationed in Moscow. Hope some of you learned something, Glory to Russia. 🇷🇺

With all my respect for the performance of the march by a modern orchestra, it is a pity that there is no authentic 18th century style performance of this march (timpani, flutes, etc.). I would have listened.

This is some weird PC version of the song. Here they sing «закалённые в боях» which roughly translates to “hardened in battles”. The original lyric is «помнят нас и швед и лях» which translates to “the Swede and Polack remembers us (for having beaten him)”.
