I don't think CDPR will throw away its bread and butter to appeal to the so called modern audience. It would be creative suicide and the end of their studio. I do think that remake however is in real jeopardy and will likely flop once we compare it to the original and see how much it has been dumbed down. CDPR isn't stupid. They can see the writing on the wall for DEI in video games and they won't go that route. Yes they did hire a writer who has a pro-DEI rep but I don't see her as being the next Corienne Busche and ruining the game like Busche did with Veilguard. She isn't high enough in the company to do that. Yes they have sadly made questionable hiring practice changes because they claim they are having problems hiring enough male developers. But I doubt they will change direction based on that .I expect their games will be similar to their past games in tone and direction. I am not worried about it.
It appears many people are not happy with CDPR. Fair enough, though I think I'll wait for the game to release before I decide it's the worst thing ever created and only heathens would even consider it.🙄
I am still optimistic about Witcher 4 because unlike Bioware they still have a lot of talented people, although some already left. Also unlike Bioware and Bethesda that are owned by EA and Microsoft respectively, they are an independent studio. That said untill i see the first trailer, I also have some concerns
No. All the original talent that made Witcher games a hit has left. The main reason they switched to the bland Unreal Engine 5 is that they lack the engineering and programming talent to keep the own engine alive. Hence why Cyberpunk had some many issues and is such a headache. So they abandoned their incredinle in house game engine to go on a DEI hiring spree using the lowest common denominator engine UE5. Honeslty I hate the generic look and feel of all Unreal games but hey if you gonna hire based on wokeness and not merit UE5 is a cakewalk engine compared to hiring geniuses to upgrade your in-house custom made engine.

Dude, watching Geralt kill that female vampire in the barn was all on its own enough to bring back memories of the game. How utterly cursed Geralt and all the Witchers are. How they are a necessary evil, and though they are tolerated and feared, no one wants to be one, not even successful Witchers. It's such an absolutely brilliant game... I think I'm going to re-install it and play it again. I want CDPR to remain GOG. I don't want them to ever go down the Bethesda/Ubisoft/EA shitslide. I think that in case of gaming industry overally W4 might be a turning point. That is if GTA 6 won't succeed, Crimson Desert won't channel the Witcher vibes, KCD 2 won't be a spectacular triumph, Monster Hunter Wilds will have some problems. These games, that debut in not so long, began their production in great times for gaming, with great ambitions and great budgets - they still live on "big size" philosophy. That's why if none of them will be clearly better than their prequels/similar games then whole industry will start to look low at such big headed sequels and "Witcher 4" might be the last in the row to save "bigger sequels" philosophy or might kill it - reputation of CDPR doing miracles speaks for themselves. And they've said already that W4 will be "bigger and better". My opinion is that they might achieve something different than most in the genre, their story as a studio has a lot of dramaturgy, but their successes were coresponding with growth of whole market and "bigger, better" thinking. So if this atmosphere is changing then their style and quality won't ensure them same results as earlier. One thing will save this game, mark my words. Since it's a snowy adventure - lots of winter and christmas atmosphere, riding sleighs, ice skating (+boss fight on ice), sledding from mountains... But I doubt it :D
The good thing is those red flags you point out in the video aren't possible to hide. We'll know from the moment they show the first trailer of any new CDPR game.
I see Triss…I click and like the video😂🧡 On a serious note, it will be extremely disappointing if they go in make this next installment beyond woke even when they see how most games that do that nonsense have flopped big time .
The production cost is pretty sizable, if the development span was 5 years with 600 full-time(?) game developers/graphics designers. If the salary is 100.000€ per employee the that would be already 300M€. In comparison the biggest seller Hogwart's Legacy sold 30M units á 50€, but CD Project is certain to beat that with Witcher IV, if they do not repeat their Cyberpunk 2077 doggie doo doo pile again.
I’ll judge them based of the recent content they have given me. Which to me has been 10/10 and the game is. It coming in 2025 idc what rumors say that’s impossible
- Edited for many, many spelling mistakes 🤦 I thought this one was going to have Ciri as the main character? Eh, either way, after the live action series, I can't manage to get any enthusiasm for the game. I know the Author has given a quiet nod to his stories inclusive subtext being expanded on, but even HE didn't approve of the bizarre lip service diversity and screwing of lore in the TV series. If it's ANYTHING like that, I just can't be assed. Don't mess with the source material. As good as Witcher 3 was, even that game had lore breaks that pissed me off. I don't want to see the result if it gets fucked up even more. I wanna see dark, I wanna see irreverent, and I want to see crass, crude and merciless. I want gritty, morally grey, and MOST of all, I want it to be VERY clearly based on Slovenian, and Polish folk lore and architecture. And gods damn it, I want my fucking OG card game back.
You're hitting the nail on the head: It's not true that you can't have politics in your games, if it's done intelligently. Social and political commentary can enrich the world like it did many times in Witcher 3. It's the obnoxious and very on the nose preachy messaging with all the subtlety of a bulldozer that is destroying any immersion and escapism a player can have.
Sexism is the, most often negative, discrimination of a person based on their sex. I'd say that conquest cards don't fit that definition. If we'd want to attach a negative label to it, I'd choose 'objectifying' instead, but that would not make it immediately problematic, as everyone in the game world except the most powerful people get objectified, starting from Geralt actually getting discriminated against because he, as a Witcher, is so starkly different and only gets tolerated for his utility as a monster slayer, peasants being treated like dirt by the nobility, men getting slaughtered for the ambitions of the mighty and some sapient monsters getting vilified by humans because of superstition and prejudices, reducing them from sapient beings to things needing to get killed. And even if we would acknowledge the conquest cards being in some way worse than the other objectifications taking place within the game (which I don't), it would still have to fall into the same category of critique as women and gays buying calendars of hot firefighters posing more or less tastefully for the enjoyment of the viewer, as that was pretty much what the conquest cards were: fantasy pinups. As for the sorceresses all being hot: if I remember correctly, the magic users made the conscious decision to enhance their looks themselves, as that just further increased their degrees of power. If anything, it should be seen as self-empowering, especially when we have Yennefer as the best example since she was, if I remember correctly, butt-ugly before she got properly trained in magic. Also, as so very often, for the left, it's only bad if others do it. You can bet that any blue-haired landwhale railing against the "oppressive fatphobic beauty standards of patriarchal society" would immediately turn themselves into hot babes via magic if given the chance.
The problem with correction, or let's say over-correction, is that when you find this or that offensive within the foundational and/or unique features of the game, then you sanitize the game (franchise) to an extent that it becomes just like every other bland and hackneyed game. This process to correct becomes a process to remove the distinctions of the game (franchise) leaving an aftermath of denatured, homogenized, and effaced storytelling.
I like so much the witcher 3 . However I don't understand how they can make a women witcher. It was OK with the cyberpunk universe that it had some of the modern audience ppl. But I don't think it will fit in here. I also don't understand why they cannot just allow women's to play as a mage if they want so much representation.
@@justaquietpeacefuldance my wife is a huuuuuuge fan of the witcher se read all book's. From her I know that witchers can not be a women at all. So they could do something about that a witcher from a distant land. What is ok I think. But black people as elf's and queens + royalty it is just broken. There is a good way and a forced way. The series was a forced way and it eventually failed to cancelation.
@@zoltanschweifer4304 I fully agree, if they want black or brown-skinned folk they need to move the story to Ofir or Zerrikania, it's can't stay in the Northen Kingdoms. W4 will either be a masterclass on how to do diversity or it will be a travesty. Nothing we can do about it. In my humble opinon (I'm Polish) they've sold out the moment they moved to Canada, perhaps before that, moments after the W3 success when they got listet on Polish stock market. Then came the big investors aaaand they lost their base. But will see.
Because it will never be enough to satisfy them, you guys have to understand that these "individuals" will *never* be satisfied. No matter how much representation is included, be it a Video Game, Movie, TV Show, Table Top, Comic Books etc. It will never be enough, I mean Dragon Age: Veilguard, had a crap load of representation in it and it still wasn't enough to satisfy these disingenuous people.
Honestly there no way they can a better story than witcher 3 . Especially if they don't got a set character to build on . He can still be rememberable like v voice but everytime i think of v i imagine him as the ad cover male originally that also in the trailers but not my own created character. It still can be good but sadly will never supass playing as Gerald.

Don't defend the conquest cards, lol. Of all the things to be worried about why that? They're cringe and a product of the past, it has nothing, NOTHING, to do with the game being dark fantasy or taking place in an old Slavic country. It was just a funny thing they did that the actual devs probably regreat.
Came here to say that. Brothels are part of the setting, they reflect something about it. Same with attractive women, especially the sorceresses, as they used all kinds of magic to appear beautiful. Elves are naturally beautiful, too, some human women as well, that's fine. But the cards, indeed, have nothing to do with the world of the Witcher. They don't show anything about the setting, but they do show something about the male thinking among players and devs. The cards are meta, basically, so yeah, they're sexist. (And that comes from someone who's *very* careful about calling anything "-ist" and all that crap.)
You guys overthink it. I played the first Witcher with my brother when we were kids. When the time came for the first scene with Triss in Kaer Morhen, we were super nerves, as our parents were in the next room and we thought there would be the sex scene. So we closed the door and turn off the sound. But it was just a card. We were like "Hah, OK, that a relief".😅 The whole cards stuff is just a placeholder, "Game of Thrones" level of smut was not a norm back then.🧐
But they're pushing DEI and hiring teams of all women, most of whom have zero experience. The characters will all be fat and ugly and covered in moles, and the combat won't have any blood or gore. Another dead franchise

CDPR also did a good job with handling trans in Cyberpunk 2077 with Claire's story. It was just a passing comment in a conversation about how supportive her deceased husband was while she underwent the surgery. That's the way to handle these things, they exist, but don't need to make it the main focus of the game and smash you in the face with it. People who skip through dialogue wouldn't even know Claire is trans because it's the only time it's mentioned and it's not the complete focus of who she is.
"Bragging" about being inclusive is a business move to attract talent that don't want to be bothered with assholes / divas in the company. We all saw how "woke" CDPR has become with Cyberpunk (which means not)and how "ugly" all the women were. All that clickbait shit is seriously unfounded.
@@Frencho9 Just saw the trailer for Witcher 4 and I can see it's direction. I was hopefull but I see now that you are right and I was wrong
@@tiagobrizida966 Lol Ciri Girlboss Witcher for the wokes. Ciri is such a stupid choice as a protagonist as she is so fucking OP in the witcher lore due to her elder blood and powers nothing should be a challenge. Yet in Witcher 4 Ciri is weaker than in Witcher 3, how? She underwent the trial of the grasses as she has cat eyes now, not blue. Still she has no magic dash, teleportation, just witcher signs. What a retcon a sorcerer/sorceress is more powerful...
I immediately knew what scene u were gonna use xD
Gotta say hearing that people had to leave and make their own studio like it happened for Bioware and seeing that result in something like the new Dragon Age. Can't say I'm very hopeful. I'm guessing the company prolly underwent a huge "Course Correction", after the original failure of Cyberpunks release and it prolly open the flood gates for these types to gain a foothold.
Rebel Wolves huh? I'll keep them in mind.
Everyone was suffering... or shaboinking Geralt
Btw, If you want something not plagued by ESRB, check out KCD2.
I don't think this game will be bad but it will be a start of things to come
CDPR went full ESG/DEI so theyr a dead studio. Im not buying their next woke abomination. The weiter from THE VEILGUARD is working there too on the next cyberpunk. Theyre cooked.
We live in a time of extreme bowdlerization. That's incompatible with an authentic Witcher story. We'll see, but I am not optimistic. And thanks for mentioning Dawn Walker, of whose existence I had no idea. That looks promising.
My expectations aren’t that high, but I do hope they take their time with it
No Geralt? No sell. We will see if it is the Witcher or another bait and switch like Alan Wakeless II. I think we have reached the saturation point in F-around and Find out.
It is pretty telling of the state of the video games industry that I have zero hype for The Witcher 4...
However I am super hype for Pathologic 3.
But I think that is out of our hands at this point.
lets not get ahead of ourselves was Phantom Liberty was amazing, there is nothing we know about the game and we already get doomer content
Considering how vampires are in blood and wine im way more excited about what rebel wolves will bring to the table than i am about a (californian college campus cdpr)
Triss and Yen will definitely look average in this new game. Manly jaws and broad shoulders
..and a noticable bulge in the clothing 🤮
I'm eager to hear your take now that CDPR has delivered the trailer.
BTW thnx for the Dawn walker info I appreciate it greatly. 😮
Damn, I liked Witcher games.
current CDPR - "Liga broni, liga radzi, liga nigdy was nie zdradzi"
Fans - "Ciemność, widzę ciemność..."
from an old Polish comedy film, recommended.
Lol, ESG is a good thing for making sure the company has a healthy workplace.
Let's hope CDPR keeps true to its Polish roots that leans Right conservative like the rest of Eastern Europe...
Wait, was not there supposed to be Witcher 1 remake?
There is; they are just removing a lot from it.
I think its gonna be hotdog water
I see Triss…I click and like the video😂🧡
On a serious note, it will be extremely disappointing if they go in make this next installment beyond woke even when they see how most games that do that nonsense have flopped big time .
- Edited for many, many spelling mistakes 🤦
I thought this one was going to have Ciri as the main character?
Tiresome stuff.
It’s either self made or Ciri I would guess as the new protagonist
Looking at recent DEI and ESG articles on their website. Cdpr is cooked, the game might be ok at best, but not close to witcher 3.
Not gonna be slavic tale for sure
Witcher 4 Might Be Out Sooner Than You Think...But... Its goes full woke.
I also don't understand why they cannot just allow women's to play as a mage if they want so much representation.
most women loved to play as Geralt
@@justaquietpeacefuldance my wife is a huuuuuuge fan of the witcher se read all book's. From her I know that witchers can not be a women at all. And she sayed to me that it's soo broken also with those black elf's. For example the game and the books refer to African people and countries ( fantasy).
It's not going to be Geralt anymore, so we will see.
You bet it will be out soon.... as a broken beta that never gets fully fixed. Ive hears this story before.
I'd rather have a new original Witcher as the protagonist.
Perhaps, but KCD II can't come out soon enough.
2026 at least if not 2027 maybe a reveal trailer next year
Honestly there no way they can a better story than witcher 3 . Especially if they don't got a set character to build on . He can still be rememberable like v voice but everytime i think of v i imagine him as the ad cover male originally that also in the trailers but not my own created character. It still can be good but sadly will never supass playing as Gerald.
A VERY GOOD POINT S PRESENTER
It might be woker than we can bear.
am ready to make my non binary black elf Witcher
I love the Witcher 2 and 3, I recently bought the first one for my steam deck. I'll stick with that over some virtue signaling remake thank very much.
I believe in CDPR
I’m hopeful because Phantom Liberty was really good and came out recently. But this game will be what really decides the future of CDPR. At least we’ll always have the original trilogy no matter what happens.
Cyberpunk is a very differetn setting from Witcher.
MAKE ONE WITCHER 4 FOR QUEERS AND ONE FOR STRAIGHT GAMERS
Even though there are examples of cringy messaging in video games, the example provided in this clip would never have been accepted by the Trump cult hive mind-zombies the billionares seem to have turned the whole internet into. Just look at that PERFECT walking dead-episode with the gay guys. A fantastic piece of art, completely free of preaching - but the zombies went absolutely mad.
Can't wait to not buy Trooner 4.
The game hadn’t even gone into full production until recently so no I don’t think it will come in 2025. With your concerns I mean look at phantom liberty it wasn’t woke or anything and people really love it
It's already dead, let's be real here. They'll turn Ciri into a Mary Sue and it'll be mediocre at best.
I have no hope for this game. CDPR lost so much over the years its only a shell of his former self. There are other games and topics for 2025 to 2026
thx
I pray for the future of the Witcher, the show has already tainted the name slightly. I hope it is not beaten into nothingness
Its gone woke, we all know what happens when things go woke
Another title to wait and see with, I simply don't trust AAA devs enough to buy anything in the first month or so of coming out. Most titles are political, broken, or just plain bad.
*EXPECT MID* 🌈
BETTER NOT TBF
Lol Ciri Girlboss Witcher for the wokes. Ciri is such a stupid choice as a protagonist as she is so fucking OP in the witcher lore due to her elder blood and powers nothing should be a challenge. But.........its going to be woke trash...
First bethesda, then bioware, possibly obsidian, and after that, CDPR?
What a shame if these things come to fruition....
We were like "Hah, OK, that a relief".😅
The whole cards stuff is just a placeholder, "Game of Thrones" level of smut was not a norm back then.🧐
@@Arthur_Revan Huh. That's a good point, too, actually.
Who else is tired from all youtube fear monger videos about CDPR..
But they're pushing DEI and hiring teams of all women, most of whom have zero experience. The characters will all be fat and ugly and covered in moles, and the combat won't have any blood or gore. Another dead franchise
I for one, will not be playing it..
Woker IV
This will be a water down witcher game compared to 3. If you are expecting witcher 3 level good im not holding my breath after seeing how woke cdpr is now. Its going to be full of pronouns and Diversity nonsense 🙄
I have no hope for The Witcher 4.
I have no hope for the Witcher 4 nor the next Cyberpunk game.
How is having sex scene or sex mechanic such as brothel considered sexist? it's not like it's include sexual assault gameplay or something. your brain is conditioned by the snowflakes mob my guy
Expecting the usual tripe with lots of messaging. It will take years for it to dissipate. The US is swinging a bit out of it but Europe is full way swinging in!
I wont lie i totally missed it my 1st playthrough. Lol my second time around i was more baffled that I missed it the 1st time more then anything lol
It was really unnecessary, and added nothing to the story.
Not as good a job as with Taash though...
"Bragging" about being inclusive is a business move to attract talent that don't want to be bothered with assholes / divas in the company. We all saw how "woke" CDPR has become with Cyberpunk (which means not)and how "ugly" all the women were. All that clickbait shit is seriously unfounded. The whole "BUT IT COULD BE WOKE" shit without any facts backing it up is the lowest kind of "content".
