    I believe that you failed to lubricate the O rings.

    Out of curiosity, how much research did you do before settling on Aquasure and what eventually made you decide on them rather than other "top rated" (depending on where you look) companies/units out there? I'm asking because I'm half way down the rabbit hole right now for my first ever softener and it's just mind-boggling all the options/companies, etc.

      When I moved in there was a culligan system, it wasn’t keeping up, I rented a Hague system for a few years and it was really good but expensive. I spent quite a bit of time looking into options and wanted a kinetico based on reviews but I couldn’t buy one and install myself I needed to have a dealer do it. I spent weeks looking into it, and was leaning toward aquasure based on the reviews and availability. I spent a bunch of time on their site and ended up with a bunch of questions so I gave them a call and had a great experience. The guy on the phone was really helpful, and I ended up getting one from Home Depot that day.
      Honestly with what I was paying for a rental, if this thing lasts one year it will have saved me money, but I’m seeing it using less water, regenerating less often, I really like the black fiber wrapped tank, etc. Only thing that is a little weird is that the 2 valves on the back are right next to each other so there isn’t a lot of clearance for a 90 to thread in. It’s 3 months in and I would recommend it to anyone.

    Installed two months ago and worked great, now the water pressure is low. We can’t run two showers at once.

      wow! did you happen to reach out to aquasure? I called them for help sizing and they were really helpful. My last system was here for almost 7 years, im hoping to get the same out of this one.
      One thing they did mention is there are 2 versions, one has the fine mesh and one doesnt. Because im on city water they said to NOT get the fine mesh because it is designed to remove materials found in wells, and the chlorine in the city water would destroy the resin.

      I can’t find where the listings from Lowe’s show fine mesh or not

      look at the part number. fine mesh ends in "FM" regular ones end in "D"@@RookieGarage

    if I leave the defaulted setting will it generate every 24hrs? why water flow indicator is not showing when I use water?

    • @improvedgarage
      @improvedgarage  2 місяці тому

      is it maybe in bypass mode? My water flow indicator lights up a few seconds after turning the water on.
      i dont remember what the default setting was, if its in time mode it will regen every 24 hours, but that would be really wasteful unless you were using tons of water every day.
      in TM mode which is recommended it regenerates at the time specified once it doesnt have enough water to make it through a day. so for example if you use 300 gpd, and it sees it only has 250 left it will regen. Mine regenerates 2-3 times per month.

    Dude I know you took extra time to explain your usage but I’m still stuck how did you estimate your usage
    I have 64000 unit in my area water is 7.5 to 7.8 hard what am I missing now I can’t figure out my usage?
    We have 5 people living in my house

    • @improvedgarage
      @improvedgarage  7 місяців тому +2

      You probably want a 48000.
      Average person uses 75 gallons per day
      Your house will use 375
      If your hardness is 7.8
      375x7.8= 2925 grains per day.
      So a 48000 would regen every 16 days
      From what I understand you want to regen more often than once a month but less often than once a week, 48000 is right in the middle.
      You could also give them a quick call. I did and they weee very helpful.

    They can stick their basket part where the sun don't shine, don't recommend there product the only way mine went on was to file down the tabs some and get a new one

    • @improvedgarage
      @improvedgarage  8 місяців тому

      Hey, that really sucks! I had no issues installing the basket on mine, hopefully you just got a bum one, or there was some sure of issue they corrected.
      I did see a drop in TDS going from my old system to this one, and haven’t had any issues in the month since I installed it. Time will
      Tell how long it holds up, thanks for watching and taking the time to share your experience.

      @@dqdanielfab For well water its recommended that you use the part number that ends in FM such as AS-HS48FM. This contains a fine mesh resin that removed iron from the water. aquasureusa.com/collections/harmony/products/aquasure-harmony-series-whole-house-water-softening-system-with-iron-reducing-fine-mesh-resin-48-000-grains

    Can I ask why you chose this system?

    • @improvedgarage
      @improvedgarage  5 місяців тому

      I had a rental hague system that was working well that i was happy with but was paying monthly for it.
      I wanted a kinetico because of their reputation but was unable to buy one and install it myself, so i started looking at my options. I found the aquasure and liked the profile (tall and skinny vs short and fat), the black color, price, the fact that they are based in CA and only a few hours drive from my house. I gave them a call and was impressed with the helpfulness and knowledge of the person who answered the phone and i immediately placed the order. I assumed since it was sold by Home Depot i could lean on their return policy if i needed to if it didnt perform well.
      Honestly i really like it and don't hesitate to recommend it, I'm using less waste than before, the water is not hard or overly softened, i think it looks good in my garage with the black / grey theme, etc. Maybe it will die at some point soon, or have an issue, i honestly dont know, but with what i was paying for the rental system the break even is less than one year.

    How high above the unit does it drain?

    • @improvedgarage
      @improvedgarage  7 місяців тому +2

      7' above the drain valve so its like 11' total. i have 10 foot ceilings and it drains through my attic without issues.

      Since the Brine tank has no pressure what did you do with the overflow from there? Appreciate the reply.@@improvedgarage

    • @improvedgarage
      @improvedgarage  7 місяців тому +2

      The brine tank contains a float valve so there is no overflow. Basically it fills until the water level triggers the float and the float stops the water coming into the brine tank, then it soaks for a time, then it sucks water back from the brine tank using the same tube. @@hanzberger8751
