Not your fault, but I believe the inconsistency of the information architecture--- you must speak fluent *iconease* in order to find the [-] scan button. LOL!
80% less steps than in other tutorials but YOUR tutorial works perfectly fine!
Thank you for an easy to follow tutorial that helped me get this setup. I did run into an issue that was causing me some issues. I use the SmartLife app and setup Tuya IOT like in this video. However, I kept getting the 2406 error. This was due to the region not matching my smart life app region. When you go into the Tuya IOT device tab (to setup SmartLife link to Tuya) make sure the correct region is selected. You will know if you have it correct by how many devices are connected. Hope this helps anyone that runs into the same issue. Great video!

In the qr window choose your current country in drop-down option

At 4:32, under the "Link Tuya App Account" description, your screen says "Already added 1 account and 3 linked devices." I have three devices, two light strips by different brands from amazon and a garage door opener. My screen says "Already added 1 account and 0 linked devices."
What is causing the IoT platform to not detect the devices in my Tuya app? I don't understand what I have done wrong.

I followed your steps and was winning…until… the very last part where you can’t copy the last code needed as they want as not you to now ‘verify your signature’ ? …and I have no idea how to do that lol
Where was this verification? On the Tuya iot webpage?
@@HomeSight it was on the same page where the password and ID are that you said to copy.
It said that it now requires further verification to improve security and was introduced about a month ago.

Thank you for a great tutorial! Followed all the steps - everything works, but I can’t see any switches that are connected to Smart Life App in the Homebridge. The Homebridge log shows no faults or alarms…. Any tip would be very appreciated… thanks!
I am trying to add a dehumidifier. I can see the device in the cloud api, however no in the home bridge, As per I know this type of device is not full compatible, Is there a possibility?
The A1 Pro Max lock was added to HomeKit, but it does not lock or unlock the door. The device was added, but it doesn't work. This might be because the lock requires a Bluetooth connection and only allows connections through the Smart Life app.
When I try to "Add App Account" it gives me an error: "No access", what can I do then?

i don't get any devices . in the tuya cloud i can see all devices but not in the homebridge or homekit.

Great Video. Did everything as instructed. but in homebridge. The device is on Tuya IoT. But when I open Homebridge, in the command panel I get: Got 1 Device (so it is finding it ) than fetching etc, finally i get: [Tuya] Unsupported Device: Name of device (in brown). Can you help please
Tuya wont let you unlink accounts but sends this error “The number of projects linked with this Tuya Smart App account has reached the upper limit of 2. Unlink the account from existing projects and try again.”
But also if you look through their FAQ you’ll find “Note: Currently, deletion of cloud development projects is not supported, we will support it as soon as possible.”

Me too, I have added a switch to the Smart Life app on my phone but it's not showing up in homebridge. Help!
Try setting it to Tuya Smart. Also, it appears the verified app is no longer supported. There is one by linanw that appears to work.
Nicely done. It is a bit outdated and the screens have changed a bit, but nothing that anyone can't figure out by themselves. Bravo!

Any idea how I get notified if my tuya smoke detector is detecting smoke? By now only the app will trigger a notification but HomeKit doesn’t. It always says no smoke detected, while the alarm on the device is going
I have tryed to connect the Tuya app to my project and it does not show up in the project at all and no devices show up in the project at all and I followed all the steps that you did and it did not work at all so what do I have to do to get it to work the first time

I am getting an 1100 error which documentation says that the username or app schema parameter is empty but I checked the config file and it is not. Cannot get it to login.

Hi. Is your light and switch using Wifi protocol? I wonder will the homebridge integration works for devices/lights/switches using Bluetooth mesh and zigbee protocol via gateway/hub added in Tuya/smart life App?
Yes, light and socket are using WiFi. I also have a Tuya zigbee gateway which allows zigbee devices to work with the integration.

Is it completely free? What does the “free trial” mean in creating the cloud project? Would it still work when the free trial expires?
Signed up for the free trial here. No payment info was requested. The issue I’m having is that my Smart Socket shows up in HomeKit per the instructions, but the on/off button has no effect on the actual socket. Works fine from the Tuya Smart app itself.

Try to change the datacenter in top right the page. I get the same problem.
I change the datacenter location to "center europe" and its worked
Great video. When trying to scan the qr code for Smart life app auth to says "you cannot scan the qr code to add a device deployed in another data center". Any help? Thanks
Fixed. How is it possible to have acess when not in the wifi?
I'm guessing you had to ensure you had the correct region selected before you scanned the QR code, just for anyone else reading this. There is now a warning on the Tuya Platform website when it shows the QR code.
Is it a local integration or does it uses tuya cloud in some way when triggering devices ?
It does rely on the cloud, but the new integration will allow some level of local control soon, they are still working on this at the moment.

Hi, I’m not sure about the smart hub itself, I’m pretty sure I have a few of the other devices, but not the hub to try.

Glad you got the account working in the end. Why don’t you have any devices in there? The email used for the Tuya account and the smartlife/tuya app don’t need to be the same. They get “paired” by scanning the at QR code through the app.

@@leecummins9068 to fix it you need another account, the problem is when you generate purchase when you create project, the authorize api program not purchase good and its look all of the next step, so go on the page of the api products needed (smart home device management, authorasation, smart home family management and other..) and save the url of the product, create another account with another program like the vidéo but before auto purchase the « authorize api product » in configuration wizard, go to the url of the product and claim it all before, after all product are buy, go on the configuration wizard and add the authorize api product claim before, that’s what I make to solve the problem, I hope my solution helps you (sorry for the English I’m French) bye ✌🏻
