The mario 64 reference in donkey kong country 3 was the first easter egg of this kind I've met in my childhood
In Paper Mario 64 , when you get a level up , you can hear world 1 theme from Super Mario Bros . 3 .
In the same game there's a scene where the Koopa Bros attack Mario and in that scene we can hear the airship theme from Super Mario Bros.3 .
