I'm only in my early 30's, but have been listening to the show since I was a literal child, nearly 20 years. As far as I'm concerned he was the 5th person of the show, it's really the 'Bob and Tom and Christy and Chick and Ron show', totally devastating.
The show must go on. There's always something or someone new to be discovered. This show has been a go to place for up and coming comedians and entertainers over the years.
@@alkohalak8199 I don't know. COVID Seemed to mark a distinct change in the show. I was amazed how rarely they did anything with comics during COVID. People who could have used the plug and PR. And now that COVID is over it seems like random, regular guest comedians are no longer a thing. I lot of former regulars haven't been seen or heard from in 3.5 years. They have the handful or regulars and then (had) Ron's characters.
Ron was a mainstay of the show for decades, it's like when Bob left (Still alive of course) but you're losing a chunk of the show's heart, he's feeling that.
Tom is a true professional in the business. And that's coming from someone who listened to J.J & The Morning Crew and Drew & Mike in years past in the immediate Metro Detroit market but none of the stations don't carry this show. I catch it on the road off the Toledo and Lansing stations. I've listened to them for years. They've made my mornings fun and continue to do so with the loss of Ron. The show must go on and I'm a loyal listener.
What a talent. What consistent monster of comedy for this great radio show. So many literal LOL's when he was calling in as one of his characters. What a loss. RIP ! STATE LAW!!
I've listened to the show off and on for years. And I swear to god, 90%of my favorite characters were voiced by Ron I'm just finding out. RIP good sir, my deepest condolences to your loved ones. He brought me great joy and happiness more times than I knew it. I never met him but I feel like I lost a friend, I can't imagine the loss and hole in your heart you're feeling. From all his fans we wish you the best in your time of sorrow.
Losing Donnie is like losing that one cousin we all have but won't ever admit to. I've been listening to Donnie since day one and my heart broke when I read about Ron's passing
When I was a kid I would always try to make my grandpa laugh without much success but the hardest I have ever seen him laugh was when he overhead Turtles And Whores on my radio one morning. One of my favorite memories of him and its thanks to Ron. He will be greatly missed, I swear to god it's state law.
So sad to learn that the comedic genius who was Ron Sexton is no longer with us. His characters were “laugh out loud funny”, not just a chuckle. While all were good, Donnie Baker was my absolute favorite. He knew more about every conceivable subject than anyone, and haven’t we all known someone like that? I can’t meet anyone named Randy without thinking of his disdain for his supervisor. My sympathy to all the Bob and Tom family and all who knew him outside of his brilliant comedy routines. I hope through the magic of recordings we will still be able to hear his routines from time to time. You gotta do it. “It’s state law!”
Just give us Rick. That sums him up so well. When a comedian can generate laughs with so little dialogue, that’s when you know you’re in the presence of greatness. Just his delivery and dedication to the craft makes him an all time great. It didn’t feel right, not hearing his memorable voice today. I don’t think we will realize how much we miss him until we hear the voices that brought the laughter to the airways. Rest in peace Badass.
It's still difficult for me to process this grief. Many mornings are spent on the road (sober of course) and Ron Sexton a.k.a. Donnie Baker cracked me up. Sometimes to the point of tears. He was that good. My deepest condolences to his family and to the Bob & Tom show for this tremendous loss. He brought joy and many laughs, many memories. Thank you.
I only have slight grief for Ron. I prefer to praise and celebrate him forever because he just had so much talent and will forever enjoy his talents. RIP and my most profound love and prayers for his loved ones. I met him several times after shows in Lexington, KY.
I’ve been listening to your show since I was 16. I am now 40. My work days were made by the characters Ron played. I will miss hearing the comedic genius that was he. Rip sir. A career / well done.
I've never met Ron, but I have been a fan of him and his multiple characters for decades. When I read the sad news of his departure from this plane, I was saddened as if I lost one of my best friends. God bless him and his family.
I just cried so hard watching this. Almost midnight cooking dinner,. Watching my family hurt so badly. Love this staff so much, our family. Love You Bob and Tom show.
I haven't felt this sad since my brother passed in 2017! I'm sorry I didn't get to see you live! RIP Ron thanks for all the laughs! I'll miss you along with everyone else who loves you! 🤣😭
Just learned of his passing. RIP Thank You for the years of laughter. Sending my deepest condolences to his family and friends. Heaven just got alot funnier 🚤
My Wife had went to see Friend of Bob and Tom some years back. Have to say Ron Sexton was the reason and the highlight of the show. He will be sadly missed.
I just want to say !! A part of Ron and all the Characters he played and voiced lives on through all of us here !! I wish the family and fans and most of all his friends!! the deepest and sincere condolences ! Ron was a HALL OF FAMER ! AND GAVE IT HIS ALL!! RIP Ron Sexton!
I would gleefully buy any Ron (insert ANY of his characters here) and Tim Wilson t-shirt that you guys could create. Two geniuses of comedy that are greatly appreciated and missed. ❤
So sad. I listened to the show here in Indy since it started as just a local morning radio show. Ron Sexton's characters and impressions were so great and hysterical. RIP
Never realized that Ron Sexton did so many characters and none of them sounded alike . Used to love listening to Bob and Tom when my local radio station carried the show . Have really missed the show .
I met Eric Davis when he played minor league for the Cedar Rapids Reds. Got a picture of my brother and I crying sitting in his lap. love Ron what a talent.
I'm 49, grew up in Central Indiana, so obviously bob and tom are basically just a fixture, I could recognize Bob's voice Tom's, Chiiiic's, and Christie's in seconds, over all the years Mr Sexton by far some of my favorite skits, the man was genius, "Lost but not forgotten"
First heard Ron when he was with Mark Patrick on Fox sports radio. Hilarious. Great talent. His Lou Holtz impersonation was so good and extremely funny. RIP
When I heard Ron had passed, I like many others, was who? Not realizing he was the creator of characters or should I say actual people that had made me feel happy and laugh out loud for a couple decades. I do have the regret of never getting to see him at live show(pun intended). Bringing people happiness for even a moment is magic to do it for a lifetime is a superpower. Thank you Ron.
I really hope they add a feature/segment to the show where they play his bits every day, starting from the beginning. It would be a great tribute to him, and it's been quite a while since some of them have aired.
One of the running jokes between my dad and I was "Why don't you just shut up Randy." I had a lot of people look at me like I was nuts for talking to my dad that way.
I am just finding this out...that Ron did ALL those characters Never knew he was Kenny Tarmac (well, hi guy!).....for you sir....WELL, BYE GUY! We will miss you....swear to gawd we will.
The quality daily content he produced was amazing! Turtles and Whores was the best thing ever on B&T! Tom might think he could make the shot but he couldn't make 3 of em' with LHO's $20 mail order rifle, Ron knew shit!
Please make a best of Ron Sexton. His characters were all instant classics! The show just won’t be the same without him. Rest in peace Ron.

same here. I will be 38 in a few months, and I can remember listening with my dad in the early to mid 90s. greatest show on radio!

@mi5anthrope same here dude!
Best of Ron Sexton would last for days. And I'm cool with that.
I don’t think B&T show will ever be the same 😢

You can tell Tom is keeping it together for the show but you can hear in his voice how sad he is

So sad to hear about Ron. I was missing the show all week and they finally came back and this happened! RIP Ron and you will be greatly missed!
His response to Joe Theisman as Tony Soprano was classic “How’s the leg?” I laugh every time I hear it.

So sad to hear Ron died.
Just loved his Donnie Baker character.
Been in tune with Bob and Tom since early 2000s.

I’ll never forget when Kenny Tarmac called in and spoke with Joe Theismann. I never laughed so hard. I’m gonna miss Ron. Go Valpo!
RIP! Ron, I know more about comedy than anybody I know of and you sir are the best! There I said it right to your face in cursive on UA-cam!
huge void for the show with Ron’s passing. He truly is irreplaceable. Love and prayer to the show and Ron’s family and friends…
R.I.P Ron (Ken Tarmac my fav character) "Everything he touched turned to sold"
