They knew it had bulletproof glass. Still doesn't explain why they didn't have tons of spike strips laid out with the 5 minute break in a dead end culdesac. Maybe it had run flat tires too. Seems like a solid choice for a temporary escape vehicle since it took the literal earth to stop it

Add about 400lbs for a full tank of diesel if it has the dual tanks. Add 1500lbs for the service body (probably a low estimate). And probably 300lbs of additional gear, 200lbs driver let's say. That's going to put it at around 10,300lbs. It's rated to tow 18,500lbs for a conventional hitch tow, by the way. 31,600lbs for gooseneck/fifth wheel.

I dont understand why government vehicles don't have remote immobilizers installed on them - that would solve this problem very quickly and prevent it from getting further out of hand. If low-rent car dealership can put them on the crap cars they finance to poor people, why cant the government equip its vehicles - its just common sense

    • @JarofMayonaise
      @JarofMayonaise 10 місяців тому +7

That's a slippery slope. Regardless of the flaws inherent with this idea, the main problem will always circle back to giving the government too much control in the name of "national security." If you don't think the gov doesn't want China's social credit score system in the USA you got a few screws loose, as they practically already employ it it's just not in your face like in China.
That aside, the immediate flaws with your plan and the one I had involving chipping your actual drivers license like key-fob, there are too many millions of cars out there that would have to be retrofitted with this system. Since every car will need it, there are going to be a LOT of people that know exactly how to get around it or disable it (criminals). On top of that you will have a likely large portion of the population outright refusing to let it be installed in their classic car or whatever. The solution would be to not let them drive until they comply but they will ignore it and it'll be a giant 'rights violation' of some kind. It's actually not any different than trying to take away a 2nd amendment lovers guns...try it and see what happens. Just like with cars, there's simply too many of them out there already to do anything about it without violating someones rights.
RFID tie your license to an 'allow list' at the DMV, eliminating internet hacking possibilities but still prone RFID skimmers and just using someone else's legal card to start the car. Lots of positives but just as equally lots of negatives.

I really don’t understand law enforcement in this country, they do the dumbest things sometimes.
ASP will do a pit on a woman that’s driving the speed limit after being lit up for only 40 seconds. and will try to stop any vehicle regardless of the original crime, by any means necessary.
Then we have these guys when they have a clear and present deadly threat engaging civilians and police they “stand down”!!!??? Like what?? Seriously?? End the pursuit! "I really don’t understand law enforcement in this country, they do the dumbest things sometimes."
It all makes sense if you remember this one little thing. Police prioritize their own safety, and the safety of their fellow officers above ALL else.
The ASP will PIT a seemingly harmless driver after only a few seconds because they don't pose any physical or legal threat to them.
The Maryland police won't do anything to a psychopath who's rampaging through the streets in a giant truck destroying civilian property because he could potentially harm or kill a police officer, or the officer's actions while trying to stop said suspect could get them into legal trouble. So instead they just sit back and wait for the guy to stop or get stuck, that way he can't ram into them anymore.
Remember, the Police are NOT legally obligated to protect you!

The coverage of this police chase was intense and gripping! The video really highlights the dangers law enforcement officers face daily, especially in high-stakes situations like this. It's a stark reminder of how unpredictable and hazardous a stolen vehicle chase can become, putting both police and civilians at risk.

A-Police chase is very dangerous for the public, for the suspect, and even for the police itself.
B-The suspect is moving slightly at a higher speed before chased, but when police start chasing, the suspect increases its speed to its maximum capacity, so it becomes more dangerous when under pursuit than none at all
C-The suspect, when persuaded, violates traffic rules. The same violation of traffic rules is committed by the police when they follow the suspect with the same extreme speed and the same route. During persuit, there is no difference between suspect and police as long as police are following the suspect, I hope you understand my point of view.
D-How many cars are destroyed during a chase. Most suspects car is destroyed that usually belonged to his father, mother or somebody else. Public cars are destroyed. Police cars are damaged or destroyed.
E-How much fuel is consumed when the suspect is followed by a lot of police cars and two or more helicopters.
F-It is a foolish operation when multiple police cars start violating traffic rules and are wasting a lot of public money to get little results.
G-Sometimes, the suspect is injured or killed by accident or by police. Even police officers are injured or killed in accidents or by suspect in this operation.
H-A lot of public money, manpower, and time is wasted in such dangerous operations.
I-Police persuit is not justified if we analyze the outcome of such dangerous operations.
J-I have one suggestion that can reduce 50 % pesuit. When the police stop a suspect, they should park their car in front of the suspects car and not behind the suspects car. In most cases, the suspect runs away when police officers are out of their car and walk towards the suspect for checking. At this stage, they run away, expecting a time delay in police action.
    K-Secondly, I would suggest
Grab the culprit without chasing. Do not run after the culprit. Try to arrest in a stationary position. If driving with high speed, let him go. Just note his car number.
L-These dangerous operations must be stopped immediately in the interest of public life and property, please.
