In case I have misunderstood the question, my 'favourite' American gangster (historically) would be Al Capone. This is not so much because I like him but because he is probably the most well known.
A great American gangster movie is 'Donnie Brasco'. However, my favourite actors who have regularly played gangster roles are Robert De Niro, followed closely by Al Pacino. Their characters in 'Goodfellas' (De Niro) and 'The Godfather' (Pacino) are highly memorable. Occasionally you get the bonus of both these incredible actors in the same movie. Two example of this are 'The Irishman' and 'Heat'.
I don't wanna annoy anyone by looking for attention, but imagining talking about Bluey and not bringing up my name once 💀 *also not apologising for the GIF. You'd have to excuse my lack of knowledge for Bond films and Bond songs
