    I’m extremely fortunate to have had parents that were ACTIVE ‘Birders’ worked super hard to ‘SAVE THE Whooping Cranes & the Bald Eagles’ during the 1960’s & 1970’s!! So, I’m blessed to have seen 5/5!🍀 THANKS Mom & Dad for all of your hard work!!♥️⭐️

    As a Minnesotan I am very jealous of Wisconsins Whooping Crane population.

    I think it is interesting that there is a year-round population of whooping cranes in Florida and another one that migrates to Wisconsin! My favorite one is the snowy owl, but I would be happy to see any of them. I would love to take a Wisconsin birding tour sometime when I have vacation time!

    3:22 I like how the bird is called a "Connecticut Warbler" but the chart does not show them go thru Connecticut at all lol

      You know that is funny. That’s where the first specimen was collected but they don’t breed there and aren’t even common there, haha

      @@BadgerlandBirdingthis is why I really wish the renaming push has some more energy for these badly named birds as they do for the ones named after people. In many ways I think fixing those are more important. Oh well ...

    As always, really fun video! I didn't know anything about birding before I found your channel a few weeks ago. Now, I can't imagine my meals without a Badgerland Birding video.^^'
    Thanks for all your hard work! : D

    I have 4/5, I just keep missing Kirtland's (it's a nemesis bird for me at this point). I have seen all the others quite a few times at this point though, especially Whooping Crane.

    Also I think the Great Tit and European Goldfinch probably qualify as a similar caliber to these, from a North American perspective (especially since Great Tit is only in WI).

    • @BadgerlandBirding
      @BadgerlandBirding  Рік тому +2

      They’re weird cases for sure. It will be interesting to see what both species do in terms of movement and growth (although the great tits have been stable in the region for a while)

    I keep hearing this bird that kind of sounds like a kind of high pitched "Utta Utta..Utta Utta" and I can't figure out what it is. It was in Iowa by the way.
