@@QuistJam I play in a band and we wrote an album and I wrote two songs in this key that I am proud of and it’s because of your backing tracks. This didn’t exist when I started playing in 1995, I was stuck in the pentatonic boxes, trying to add something unique to my sound. To go from the pentatonic boxes to writing and recording songs in harmonic minor, including the bass lines, Melodies, chord progressions (everything but the drums) involves leveling up way beyond just learning a new scale, as you know. Anyway, it’s unreal how far I’ve come and idk how I found you a few years ago, but it was a great blessing for me. Thank you. PS, I can’t find “double Yang” or “science of traffic” on sound cloud anymore! What happened???

After 50 years of playing I never learned any scales (some chords and kinda Travis picking but with extra fingers thrown in) but I can play all these things intuitively. I don’t use a plectrum but I pluck upward with my nails like the North African people. The way it worked out is I can play things differently to anyone else now. Best guitar I ever found is a USA Ernie Ball Music-man. Tried every other make and nothing comes close. Peace and love to all on here.❤

Sorry if this is a stupid question but my guitar teacher told me harmonic minor can only be played over the dominant 7 chord in any progression yet here it's just regular chords but it works great. How come it works ?
Because none of the chords in this progression incorporate the 7th note of the natural minor (G), so our ears stay attuned to the raised 7th (G#) featured in the Ammaj7 and E7.
No G, C, or Em chord swoop in to bring us back into the natural minor vibe, so we can remain blissfully groovin' the harmonic minor.

Haha yes I can tell you that. For many years I made these jams in hotel rooms while on tour all over the world, after a while I started documenting where I was, for several reasons - to remember these places, to create a sort of tour diary (I also have tour vlogs), to connect with fans and fellow musicians all over the world... for fun. I made this playlist "around the world in 80 jams" ua-cam.com/video/xmAD0TzR4C8/v-deo.html :) But seeing as I live in LA, it wasn't really necessary to add it to this video... just happened cuz the video was cut with a template from a previous video where I WAS in some far off place. That's the full story haha :)

Have you learned?
If not, I recommend learning all positions of a scale and then jamming to a backing track matching with that scale
Think of the chords but change position of them, for example..
Aminor (x, 0,2,2,1,0)
Move it to the twelfth fret
Aminor (x, 12,14,14,13,12)
Then you've got other notes around it to Hammer on, pull off, bend up, slide etc. For example,
