…. Regarding your question, when you add a videocapture source, the effects will be applied TO THE SOURCE. So all scenes will have it applied.
….What you can do is add TWO videosources, both attached to the same webcam, apply the effect in one and not the other.
This worked even better than I had hoped, thank you so much.
Works surprisingly well. Not as well as, say, Webex or something similar, but still well enough, and it's probably gonna get better with time as it matures. Thanks for sharing this!

This works great! I have been looking for something like this for almost two years. I tried software that I didn’t like and then even got a green screen. I used it for a while but in the end, I didn’t like how it looked. Just turned my desk around so there’s a wall and I put some stuff up so it’s not blank. Been rolling with that for a while now. Can’t wait to really use this filter! Thanks again!
for those who are wondering, this also works as an alternative to streamfx blur in obs 29, you can apply this filter to sources that arent webcams if you turn the blur setting up

To fix the blur easily, assign a hotkey to it and when you switch, toggle the hot key to remove it

Hi Enrico, thanks for sharing this video, very helpful. I am using a Sony cam also, but when I connect it to my Mac in OBS via USB streaming by using the cable that came with the camera, there's a lagging, the picture is like half second delay. If you know how to fix this, could you please tell me?
you can use the advanced scene switcher to turn off filters on a per scene basis. I did this with the rounded corners filter. When I switch from my regular scene to the fullscreen webcam scene, it automatically turns off that filter. You can use a feature in advanced scene switcher to time exactly when it turns it off, so it seemlessly turns off when my screen is obscured by my stinger transition

Ive been having webcam freezing issues because of a duplicated source trying to use different camera shapes and stuff

@@screamfingersI still didn't get to try both techniques but apparently I could bypas this glitch by applying the filter to the group instead of the camera source itself!

When I add the video device, my camera gets cropped and put on the left top corner like for a youtube video. How do I change that?
People, be aware that this add-on will take up to 50 to 60% of your CPU power during usage.
Indeed it's heavy. If I'm not mistaken there is a new release now that says it's lighter
@@EnricoZamparo seems fine to me. I think it depends if you're rending with your cpu or gpu. if you use cpu than it will eat a lot of your resources
I can't get this to work on my mac. Is there something else I need to do after it gets installed?
This plug in rockets GPU usage to 60% even with your webcam off and the blur filter is not being applied. Doesn't make sense since the plug in gives you the option to pick how many CPU threads will be used by the plug in. Threads do not equal GPU function.
I want to blur my whole camera, is this possible with this plugin?

Ok, I have to say, good thing that it is free and simple, BAD THING, it takes A LOT of CPU, I mean I have i9 10900K and from 3% cpu goes up to 70% and more often then not freezes my OBS while recording games, so I would say it's only good if you want to talk to the camera and nothing else.
Don't know why, installed tried the plugin, camera goes black, moving the settings gets a flicker perhaps 1 frame per second and then deactivating the filter makes my camera turn green where deactivating it and reactivating it is the way to get the camera back to normal sucks this did not work

Are these extensions safe to use? How do we know they are not stealing data?
OBS and its plugins are used by many people and have good reputation. However, I'm not in the position to reassure that they are safe to use.

did you ensure to click the + sign against effect filters rather than audio/video?

I have Streamlabs OBS and followed your instructions. It does not work. The filter never showed up. It downloaded to my desktop. Tried to put the file in Obs but nothing works. So what is wrong here?
Plugins are for OBS Studio, not for Streamlabs sorry. If you want more flexibility about what you can do and what plugins to install then I’d suggest you switching to OBS Studio
@@EnricoZamparo No, I have OBS and it's doing the same thing. The file downloads but doesn't launch when I double-click it. (Update: Ah nevermind, my computer was stopping it from running because it deemed the file unsafe.)

Sorry to hear. That's strange. On what OBS version are you? Have you tried to uninstall and install again and restart OBS?
