I'm really surprised more people aren't talking about how great of an actor he is when portraying the Hound. He seriously deserves an emmy for his season 4 performance.
Rory McCann is great- I admire so much the simplicity, the honesty in the way he talks. And the interviewer is excellent; at some point we must stop assuming that a girl likes a guy just because she's smiling at him. She acts professionally and she's good at it.
I always believed there was much more about the Hound than what you saw from the exterior. The way he risked his life, over came his fear that day to battle his rage stricken brother, they way he risked his life to save Sansa from being raped by some bandit guys.... The way he never tied up Arya on his horse while he took her. For me, he's actually one of the the only few honest and noble persons in the show. He's great!
What a lovely fella, in my opinion people who start to make it big later in life are far more humble, but by all accounts this guy, Rory, has always been that way, one of my favourite characters from G.O.T.

I'm already missing the Hound in season 5. We don't know conclusively that he's dead. They never showed it on screen thus leaving open the possibility of his survival. Long shot....I know, but I want to see more of this great character.

One of the monks tells her he found Sandor as he was dying and confirms The Hound is dead but his horse, Stranger, was brought to the monastery and even after being gelded is vicious towards everybody. The monk also explains that as part of their order their old identities "die" and they are reborn. Outside Brienne sees a very large hooded gravedigger who walks with a limp. Stranger is the only person he's calm with. Basically, "The Hound" died and Sandor Clegane was reborn a new man. He is now a partially crippled gravedigger making amends for his horrors by digging the metaphorical graves of everyone he killed. It's never explained outright but the clues make it clear. It's a popular fan theory that this new Sandor Clegane will eventually have a final battle with Robert Strong, the new alias of his brother after being resurrected by Qyburn's black science.
Sandor is one of my favorite characters because I know underneath it all he really cares about Sansa and Arya. Even if he'll never admit it. He protected them as much as he could.
Anyone who hasn't seen it, you should watch the house clegane history and lore that's narrated by Rory. It's an interesting watch and it gets into the hounds motives.

I've searched for Rory McCann 4 years ago, When he was still considered a villain in season1. I've searched for a lot of actors from GoT, but I think Sandor Clegane is in my top3 favorite characters, even after reading the books.
