I would remove the liquid rubber and repair the fibreglass as this should be your cheapest solution and give the best result all round. When you filled the pond initially the water level dropped around 200mm so this is where you should be looking for the issue as the level did not drop any further. Sand the surface well and apply further resin and topcoat to patch any issues.
Your both right although the water was still dropping at that height but unfortunately I'm no good with fiberglass and these were the options available to me
Do you have any theories why MS300 didn’t bond in certain spots? I’m about to effect a fix for a leak in my EPDM plunge pond that’s 2 m wide x 2 m deep so a LOT of pressure on the seams/joins. I was hoping MS300 would do the trick bc several other efforts have failed. I’m sulking too. Feeling defeated but not giving up. Not just yet.
The normal ms300 bonded fantastically and I couldn't get it off if I tried it was the liquid liner version that didn't bond and it was the whole thing it just peeled off but the proper ms300 stuck like sxxx 🤣
remove the liquid liner and sand the fiberglass then get some epoxy pond paint that should fix the problem just make sore you do all the prep work just make sore you sand all the walls and floor properly.
All u needed to do it re topcoat the fibreglass. A good layer over the faulty topcoat or fibreglass patch over dodgy parts and re topcoat. The topcoat will seal up any holes in the fibreglass if done properly
Fair enough id help u out if u was in devon. I had to topcoat mine twice as there wasn't enough wax in the topcoat and it wouldn't go off , all good now tho and alot thicker haha.
Jamie, I'm so gutted for you. I sure hope you get it sorted out. I wish we all had the ability to know when we are beating a dead horse, and should move on to another solution to our problems, or are we just one step away from a win. I hope your next plan of attack, proves to be successful, whatever that may be. Best of luck to you my friend ❤
@@keepingitkoi😢 I’m at that point with finding a solution for my pond. ☹️I wish I hadn’t let it get to me, but I did. Time to read stories of the 1,000 times someone failed and then on the 1,001 try they succeeded! 🎉
Are the areas where the silicone hasn't bonded, places where you'd previously tried to fix with silicone? I know from past experiences fixing a aquarium, silicone doesn't bond well with older silicone under it.

Hi Jamie, but personally I would of sanded the fuck out of the fibreglass, to a certain extent, bought more resin, slapped that on and then soaked it with top coat, my grow on was fibreglassed by my self, I'm a good DIY er, and I am up and running no issues with it, basically I put plenty of resin and a good top coat on, and I done it on the hottest day of the year last year due to my holidays, you can do this, I have faith, ❤, fuck the ms of personally its great stuff I have bought this product, but I would of not bothered smothering the pond in it, and done what I have mentioned above, chin up buddy u will overcome.
Yeh ideally that would have been the best option but I don't know if you saw the attempt at fiberglassing I did I failed miserably 🤣 so a boxweld it is 👍😊
Jamie, I know you will figure out a solution for this pond! It’s such a perfect grow-on pond, am hoping the box weld liner fixes all the issues!! Praying it all works out for you 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🤗😊
You one of the best and getting it right it’s the product that not fit for purpose I don’t see a video of that product working so why have to assume you’ve made a mistake i’m sure you’ll work it out Good luck all the best Dave
@@keepingitkoiUnder what conditions/on which substrates has MS300 failed? I won’t even bother if it won’t work with my substrate and variables. Thanks!
Very sad mate to see you with this problem If is doesn’t work this time the liquid liner I think more easy for you to put a liner is jest a subjection I hope 🤞 you get on top of this problem 😎👌🎏🎏
If I was you I would get a box weld liner or sand it all off and get it fibreglass the cheapest option is a box weld liner you would only have to cut around the window and the bottom dream and any Returns and then the seal it with MS 300 but not the liquid liner

For what could have been an easy repair from the start, it's an absolute mess. Trying to get to different products to work together never works 😢
