Usually plant, but most of time you can get good hardwood pine mix natural regeneration in west gulf coastal plain. May lose a little revenue, but better for wildlife and with the way prices are for hardwoods bringing better$/ton, but slower biological growth. Every site is different, but I’ve managed several Clear cut tracts with natural regeneration and or seed tree cuts.
Coincidence cuz I actually live in Georgia as well my dad used to do forestry my grandpa was his boss and we have similar equipment a tiger cat loader a tiger cat wheeled feller buncher and a John Deere skidder and they at least had for logging trucks

If the land is owned by a paper company, or timber investment firm, or fed gov't (USFS) then they will replant with more pines. That's their business. If the land is privately owned, it's up to the owner to decide if they want to pay the cost to replant their land, or let it reforest naturally.
The large majority of the Southeast (Including GA) is Loblolly pine dominate for commercial use. This species also grows the fastest if you choose a seed carrier that has good genetics (prices will vary based on genetic type). From the looks of this operation, it is pulp based on the size of the trees. Likely to be used for pulp material like paper, or chips. Hope this helps. (info from a forester- being myself)
In this case, it's all pulp wood sized trees, to be used for paper diaper lining and are being taken to the Weyerhaeuser paper mill in Oglethorpe, GA. This paper mill has since been sold to International Paper Co.
Christopher Adkins let me give you some advice son. If you wanna do logging, go ahead but it don’t make much and it’s hard work so I suggest that you go get an education in somthing first and log a little while your in college. You don’t wanna end up barely getting by without a backup.
This is Griffith logging and son out of Carlton ga I am 3rd generation starter login when I was 12 years old and I a strong relationship with my daddy please show me everything I know about logging when he passed away Thanksgiving 2021 he gave me the company we have 1 John Deere skedder it's a 848 tow tiger cat skidders tow Target cat filibusters They are the 724G the tow Target cat skedder are the 630E and we have tow Target cat stationary loaders 234 and we have 7 379 peterbilts all of them have the 475 Caterpillar motor Daddy loves the 379 picturebilts
Looks like the cutter man was a little nervous. If you properly use the delimbing gate you don't have to waste time with that stupid de limber on the knuckle boom.
Thank you loggers for the paper products that you're trees make and yes they usually do plant new trees back
The loggers don't plant trees! That's usually left up to the landowner!
@@kebo57 your wrong some of the loggers around here have three planting services on the side
@@kebo57 it all depends on the contract. But regardless , they're all planted back

You have a lot of faith in that buncher operator.
No difference than a heart surgeon 🤔🤔🤔
Was that your house that feller buncher was cutting the trees near to
What do they do with all those toothpicks?
What areas of Ga do you operate in? My dad, James Darbyshire is a forester. He primarily sells in southwest Georgia.

Im wondering if these trees are being replace by new tree?

seems much less effective and clean than cut-to-length logging
clean doesn't matter, this is cheaper equipment.
cut-to-length machines are hella expensive
Hermoso trabajo
What pine variety is this please? And what is it's designated end use? Thanks.

I have cut some big timber i my day
This isn't logging. This is toothpick harvesting. ;-)
These are bound for a pulpwood mill to be chipped up. From there they are sent to a paper mill.
Wonderd how they harvested tooth pics

Pulp wood baby!!
Its pulpwood bud , they dont need to be bigger than that
Bird dog Attebery En
First thinning! Pine pulpwood prices even lower now than when this was filmed probably. Hard to sell this stuff for much profit.
