I used to go 'there'. After I went to 60(±) shows: a few Hunters, a Donna, a # of JGBs, & even fell asleep on the stage at later '80s Red Rocks w/a good- Listed for Life as of recent/then- Friend & got stink eye from 'big' Steve across the stage. I was off to S-R passed Lesh & just inside the curtain w/the best seat in the 'house' but I went to sit w/Barlow & the Yummys HE was surrounded by on gear cases for the Stink Eye to BACK OFF w/his 'tude. I walked out of my LAST show after a long recess (Tampa-St. Pete mid-'90s pre-set break w/my personal aversion to Death clearly impending in my judgement of the near Future as it appeared to me. I have a lot of disappointment re those folks for not doing anything like a REAL intervention for fear he'd say 'Screw it then. Fuck y'all; I'm an adult and I can...' PLUS I know The Tubes weren't very happy about being cherry picked for Vince and the 🎹... I missed some great Bands that never heard of or went to San Rafael because I focused on the one thing way too much & for getting analytical re which _Franklin's_not ever or this keyboard player or this year - but just this one Tour. Instead of Frampton, BECK, Bowie, Cipollina-Gravenites Band or Gravenites-Cipollina Band, Original Pretenders, Lowell George & Little Feat, young Graham Parker, Nick Lowe, on & on. Good advice? See what's left of the Music from the same era or you'll never have any idea what you missed in an unhealthy obsession. I even drove from Boulder to Jerry's Birthday show OK , TEX... back home. You'll never have enough of this & they were VERY selfish re exposing you to the same Groups or their mutations in the modern world of the '80s, eg. He'd be rolling in the...Wind (re the ashes- that were truly fought over!) if he saw ALL the merchandise pimped out in this day & age, I think he'd be uncomfortable. I see an unhealthy scenario that is full of Dead & BAND copycats- not original episodes but copycats down to the Merch or the Strings because of the fact that _ used them (but only during this one favorite period/Season). Of course, then they were inferior or they'd still have been THE strings. I don't feel right about the Beatlemania aspect(s). On Letterman - big applause for the statement that 'We don't care what you do with it after we're done with it. Ya know - Man?' I went to: 2 Van Morrison shows, a wailing Walter Trout show & an Alan Parsons Project show recently (2-25-3-21) & I think I'm forgetting one or two in there - Buzzcocks! THAT was one. Are any of these great people doing their OWN 🎼 or is this the end of Rock & Roll approaching? I used to say "When Buddy Guy, BECK, Jorma, Neil Young, Jimmy Page, Lanois & a few more are ALL GONE - That's the end of Rock and Roll. Is anyone doing any writing or are the only words, phrases, IDEAS and VISUALS that have been Merched over and over what's left? Is that Right? Think about that - & are any more Musical ideas being promoted to the younger generation(s)? Or coming out of the same younger generations? Is anyone who has Hit it BIG TIME DOING ANYTHING TO PREACH IT ON IN A GOOD WAY? Sad... I don't really like much Lou Reed/Velvet Underground but I know Andy Warhol told Reed- NOW! Now - at the age that you're in you should be writing a song every day - maybe Two. You're an Adult right now and this is the only time you're going to be 19(±) ever again. Write- every day.' I think it was re the quality of the words that one has available to make use of, expansion of the vocabulary- the lexicon & diction - visual abilities to put it into words & Sing as well as, if one wants to, Play as well as Talk- we've all the ability to Talk. Some more than necessary....🐄💨

Well this is, Lookin' Good. Lookin' right. But the sound? Ugh. Not what I was expecting.. It sounds very nice. It also sounds very Electronifried. Overly, Electronifried. It's been Pro Tooled to the point of, Electronifried. And if that's your, shtick? Well I guess cool? Though it wasn't what I was, expecting, hoping, to hear. As I'm something of a snob I guess? When you've had one of the best Recording Control Rooms, in the world. With 36 and put vintage custom Neve console? And a rack of API microphone preamps. And multiples of all the goodies of dynamic range processors, you could virtually think of. That I knew. Grateful Dead Guys, had all recorded on, previously. Then I hear Electronifried. Ugh! Sorry boys. I freaked. I wasn't sure what to make of it? So I had to discontinue the, extreme. It just didn't sound right to my ears. And hey. I've got really great ears. Or so I have been told. After making recording history and multiple major music award nominations across the board. Who knew? I thought I was a hack? They told me I wasn't. Oh really I responded? I thought I was. They informed me, otherwise. So did Sir George Martin and Quincy Jones both. Yes. This is no fake But I'm not retired at 68. There just wasn't enough time. In a single lifetime. To do everything that, was thrown my way. As I guess I was good? I was told I was good. People like me because I was good. I spent 20 years at NBC-TV News in Washington DC. I got to work with our POTUS's. I didn't know what I was doing sitting in the White House 10 feet away from our president? What the hell man? I was all about the rock 'n' roll music actually. But as a union engineer. You go where they assign you, schedule you, want you, love you. And they did. They proved it to me. Multiple times over. So, I guess I did good? People tell me I have. And I am at peace with that. But I am profoundly broken. Like so many others, are. I guess, it was inevitable? Most everybody is poor. There's only those very privileged and entitled, few. As they are no smarter only incredibly lucky. And we have to live with that and with them. As they skew our lives. In the direction they want us to go, now. So these times are screwy. Weir Grateful
Ya know - Man?'
I went to: 2 Van Morrison shows, a wailing Walter Trout show & an Alan Parsons Project show recently (2-25-3-21) & I think I'm forgetting one or two in there - Buzzcocks!
He’s older than that ! It’s how long they had been playing if they were still all together not his age he would b about 83 I think ?
This doc is 10y For his 70th bday. He would have been 80 something now in 2024
He was born in august on the 1 st in 1942 I think for sure because he was 7 years older then me !

Was that Sammy Hagar? 1:27🤔
Donna does have a beautiful voice though !
anyone that is brand specific, and discounts everything else is just fooling there self and wasting. money
Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day. I'm trusting in nothing but the blood of Jesus to pay for my sins to keep me out of hell. Just like accepting a plea bargain in court.
He didn't die for our sins because that was over 2,000 years ago. "Imagine there's no heaven. It's easy if you try".

Where’s John Mayer ? I thought he was a part of this not Donna ? Y is she even there ? Looks like hell , to old to be around all them young men ! She adds nothing to all the other voices !
Btw you sound jealous😅
No im not jealous I never liked her in the Gratefuldead because we wanted to see the boys not her !
you guys are weird. Jerry died at 54 He never made it to 70. Get a life.
i may be missing something ,but if we need a life what r u doing here ?
The age math isn't working for me. Do these people do drugs?
OK it's a ten year old recording. I get it now.
I cant believe these people are still making money off of Jerry Garcia and i can't believe people still pay money to listen to this garbage
Why are you here?
@@Nancysoulshine its called the Internet. I go where I want. I am a fan of Jerry and quality music. I've seen lots of music. I've met some of these musicians in this movie. I've seen Bobby and Phil, Mickey and Billy with all different musicians in different projects. This is trash music, it's also a money grab off of Jerry's name. Disgusting
You are no real fan
@@trppYgh0st real fans know the grateful Dead best years were with pigpen as lead singer. Jerry's best music was his side projects by far. Robert Hunter was responsible for the delightful poetry. Jerry was a world class musician. The drummers were fun when they weren't being jerks. Phil was an interesting nerd and Bobby is a rich kid, Bohemian Grove member and a terrible human being.
haha do you have nothing better to do.If you dont like it why not wach something yoy do?To actually take the time to complain to the people who love it is pathetic imo
Can anybody tell me who is singing "Dupree's Diamond Blues"? I just love this rendition so much. This whole show is amazing but some tunes hit my soul really hard. Brings back so many good time memories.
Yes. This is no fake
But I'm not retired at 68.
Vote in November. For the right guy. Not for the wrong guy..

now tell us how you really feel 🙄
*Well... writing **_is not_** your best suit...*
You are absolutely correct about that. I mean you are right about that. I don't have a good full Edgamucation. Largely due to my severe ADD. I mean oh well? Shit happens. @@Technician_One And writing is not one of my, suits, underwear, pajamas whatever.
That's not to say that I'm not outspoken, mind you. I do have some things to say. The late George Carlin a hero of mine. You may have heard of him? He's dead. Just as dead as, Rodney Dangerfield. Just as dead as my hero, the 3 Stooges.
When I grow up one day……? No. No, wait, I'm not going to.
