I have watched several renovations done in Chateau’s and your home is by far my favorite. Your design choices are fabulous. It is a pleasure watching your journey.
Lots of progress. Great job on the electrics and I agree with the door swing. It’s so good to see Benoit using his hand and doing great work, as usual. The rooms are looking so nice.
Hi Anna & Phillipe, It's great to finally see so much progress in the main suite in the Chateau. I often learn so much from Philipe upgrading the electrics. I'm taking special notes watching Benoit install the new paneling in the bedroom. I will be sure to follow the progress as it all comes together. Mark & Scott
I feel like I just started to watch and the video was over!! Love seeing Phillip finding rare coins and wondering if he can buy his boat with them! ha!ha! Love Vincent's face when he asked him about that! Enjoy your week; love seeing the new bathroom/bedroom take shape. (from Sandi)
Philipp, your electrical skills are amazing!!! Another great episode and lots of hard work done by you so that we can sit for a short time and enjoy watching. Thank you!
With the doors, should you swap the door from the last room that opens to the right towards the centre of the room with the door that opens to the left that you want to open to the right? (If that makes sense 🤣)
I love the renovation project, I feel like in the beginning of the channel. But I must say, I'd love to also watch day-to-day activities that maybe you think are boring, but I just love to see different lifestyles and the countryside of France is one of my favorites, is like time goes by at a different pace. I also LOVE the simple meals, like quick lunches, walks with the dog, this kind of thing, maybe in short video format.
I met an electricien years ago who was working on an old French appartment that had been left empty and on lifting the top of the marble fireplace there were hundreds of gold Louis coins in the space !
I was told that the door was put that way for privacy, someone could knock and then open the door and not see but speak the person in the room 🤷♀️ Especially a bedroom 💞
for me it depends how close it is to a wall. in their case i find it this way being more in the way. my door is a little to the right and my bed is on the right side so when you open the door it shields direct view of my bed but on the right side theres enough space so you dont feel like walking into the wall and you dont need to open the door all the way to get inside
You are so right, I feel if the Pethericks would scan their grounds, they would find so much treasure. Thank you Phillip and Anna. Just appreciate and love you two. The Sunshine from your lives is priceless!!!!
I discovered your channel a week ago and have been binge-ing all the vlogs! I love seeing all of Philipp and Anna's hard work and perseverance through the many difficulties of renovating. Love the light humor throughout the videos as well and overall wholesome content. It's amazing to see the rooms transform from decrepit to elegant with your attentions! Big fan of HTRC from the USA👍🏻
Dear Anna and Phillip always such a hard workers…. Allow me to disagree this time in one little detail, I believe the purpose of the orientation of the doors specially in bedrooms or bathrooms is a matter of keeping privacy even if they are halfway open… but this is your Chateau and you are the King and Queen to decide how to put your doors to your pleasure. ☺
You guys are such hard workers! You're working your asses off on the construction not to mention you're pumping out videos at an amazing rate. I can only guess that your girls are locked up in a room with a bag of kibble so as to not slow you down!
I just wanted to let you know that I think your haircut looks great right now! I like it really close like that on you, it’s very very flattering. (said with the upmost respect to Anna.)
I love watching craftspeople like Benoit. He works so effortlessly. He cuts a board, up it goes, looks just right, & job done. 👌🏻 If I attempted that, it would take multiple attempts to end up with a satisfactory looking result.
Well done Phillip, the chateau would not be as grand and beautiful as it is without all this painstaking behind the scenes ground work. Ziggy melted my heart with his sneaky sentry at the widow. Btw, I adore the soft pink light shade. So pretty. 👏🏼 Anna you’re a champion with the steamer and make it look so easy. 🎉
While all of your renovations have been great, I think your kitchen reno was perhaps the most challenging - even now… or perhaps it was laying the plumbing throughout the house i.e. cracking through the solid rock under the front door into that now beautiful entrance. That all aside, really looking forward to this new en suite.✨
You missed a great chance for a joke! When Philip asked if he could buy a boat with the Lindauer coin he should’ve said, “you can probably buy a boat with a hole in it!” Haha! 😅
Great video, Philipp! Maybe its just my eyes, but I thought the vertical cut that you made in the wall was perfectly straight. Not sure why Anna isn't able to appreciate the meticulous attention to detail that you are so consistent about. 😊
Woohoo 🥳 surpassing 400,000 Subscribers 👏 Loving the progress of this exciting new project. Wishing you another productive week ❤️ Mary, Central East Coast, Queensland, Australia 🇦🇺 💚💛💚💛
If you need to run wires in ceilings start by making a hole where the light needs to go. Then figure out which way the joists run and make another hole (ideally big enough to get your hand up into) by the wall, in the same joist bay. Now get a stick of 16 mm PVC conduit (or two if the room is very large). Tape some string or wire to one end of the conduit and push both the conduit and the wire into the hole at the light. If your run is longer than 2 m, add the second stick before the first one disappears into the ceiling. Once you hit the wall, shine a light up that hole and use some kind of hook to fish down the wire and detach it from the pipe. Pull back the conduit and use the wire to pull through your new cable or conduit. If you're good at fishing you can get this done with a much smaller hole by the wall.
Anna dear… when hubby makes a hole in the wall & it is for a GOOD purpose, you must ALWAYS compliment him! Always. Philipp, you are correct about the door - it should face the other way - ❤!
This will be such a beautiful space. I know how you. 2 work. You both are masters of planning snd design. I’m very excited to see the process. All the very best.
It makes me feel better watching you modernize the electrics throughout the chateau. I always worry about the old wiring. Good job Philipp. Your suite is going to be so grand and beautiful. I love that your adding wood paneling to a room that had none. Exciting project! xx
So much work to be done at the beginning of a project that is not immediately apparent when you look at a room, but essential for the functioning of a beautiful space. Very exciting to see the progress being made.
I think I can see your vision for this endeavor and with all your help and talents it's going to be so gorgeous like the other completed areas of the chateau.
The main bedroom and suite will be so lovely....and how great to see Benoir back up and working again! Are you planning to make some new wallpapers for these rooms? Hope so! Cheers!
Anna, the walls hollowed out line doesn't have to be straight because it will be filled very smoothly by yourself and you won't notice when it's all done.😅
Nice show. Thanks for sharing. I couldn't decide if finding the coin scene was a humorous spoof for entertainment purposes or artful staging to promote patreon with a spoofilious angle. Anyway, it was strange and wasn't easy to forget. I wish you well and good luck!
Getting into what is the grit and dust must feel like you are on the homestretch..when this master suite is complete I could imagine it will be your nest on top of the mountain …celebrating the completion for what has been such hard work..hopefully there is not too much left to be done after this episode is complete..happy days to all..❤
I understand that the wall are not hollow and it seems that the trenches Phillip so expertly dug are the way to go but i was wondering whatwould protect the wire from having a nail hammered into it when everything is hidden behind plaster?
To avoid hammering into a wire that’s hidden behind plaster you need to use a “magnetic or rare earth stud finder.” They are stud finders that are made to be used on plaster walls and detect anything metal inside the wall. Or you can buy a fancy new product called a “Wall-a-Bot” that can actually see through walls and detect pipes and wires.
It would be so nice if you had a trained helper-mouse to run cable through the walls and ceilings. He could wear a teeny tiny gopro too. 🐁
Could they do it with a ferret? 😊
@@CzarinaHarris too big. Not cute enough. I mean, ferrets are cute but mice have that Beatrix Potter thing going for them.
We use jumping parrots for this kind of job, they’re French robots lol
That's too cute 😄🥰
I’m wondering if your electrical work needs to be checked by an electrician for safety and insurance reasons?
I have watched several renovations done in Chateau’s and your home is by far my favorite. Your design choices are fabulous. It is a pleasure watching your journey.
Yes, in total agreement. You take your time, create an effect, not just color changes nor tacky do it yourself projects. Very lovely results.
Lots of progress. Great job on the electrics and I agree with the door swing. It’s so good to see Benoit using his hand and doing great work, as usual. The rooms are looking so nice.
Wow the renovation on the master suite is really kicking into high gear now. Congratulations on over 410K subscribers - you guys are rocking it.

Ugh wish it was longer, now we have to wait another week 😁
I met an electricien years ago who was working on an old French appartment that had been left empty and on lifting the top of the marble fireplace there were hundreds of gold Louis coins in the space !
Wow that would be have been worth a load of money.
Glad to see Benoit recovered enough to handle such large boards ❤
I was told that the door was put that way for privacy, someone could knock and then open the door and not see but speak the person in the room 🤷♀️ Especially a bedroom 💞
And the door could be hung on the other side … in the other room.

Hello Benoit. Always great to see you. You guys are so hard working.

These people 2 people are the energetic bunny. They just keep on going so much work.
So nice to see Benoit back in full action! Those rooms will become gorgeous!
Its amazing to think about how many renovations those walls have endured over the years, and it is still standing.
Phillip, it is really amazing your electrical knowledge. I must say you have done well in all the work throughout the château! 👊🏻
Phillip you are so smart! ... and, Anna, you are so wonderfully artistic!....I love you guys together!,....you're BEAUTIFUL! ..as your chateau is!
I've never been so sad to see a youtube video end! Cant wait to see next weeks! ☺
Hope you enjoyed it!
Having Benoit enter the picture is a bit like Superman to the rescue.
I just wanted to let you know that I think your haircut looks great right now! I like it really close like that on you, it’s very very flattering. (said with the upmost respect to Anna.)
Genuine question: are you ever concerned about lead paint or asbestos or other hazardous products when renovating? Do you test or just wing it?
I love watching craftspeople like Benoit. He works so effortlessly. He cuts a board, up it goes, looks just right, & job done. 👌🏻 If I attempted that, it would take multiple attempts to end up with a satisfactory looking result.
It was a very nice video, as usual, but what a cliffhanger ! Thank you for sharing all your work. Have a nice week. See you on sunday !

that trench was beautiful Philipp! i love watching these videos....the Chateau is really coming together quite beautifully!
I really like the windows in these rooms ❤

Philly loves his shattering sound effect to prank us all!
You missed a great chance for a joke! When Philip asked if he could buy a boat with the Lindauer coin he should’ve said, “you can probably buy a boat with a hole in it!” Haha! 😅
Will be a lovely master Suite once done love ziggy looking out the wi down thanks for sharing ❤

Bonjour Benoit. Lovely to see you!!

Love this vlog and so cool to discover an old coin. So nice to see Vincent and Benoit again. Can’t wait to see next week’s progress 😍😘
Philip really sounded like the naughty Bugz Bunny when he said you gotta fill the holes for the ceiling outlets, felt so nostalgic.
You are so right about the door…
You are both extremely clever
Anna dear… when hubby makes a hole in the wall & it is for a GOOD purpose, you must ALWAYS compliment him! Always.
Philipp, you are correct about the door - it should face the other way - ❤!
I love the master suite design!! So perfect
What can I say? I love you both, and I laugh throughout almost every vlog! Cant wait to see this Chateau finished. Thank you!!

Regarding the awkward door is it possible to make it open outwards? I'm probably too late because Benoit will already have thought of it!😂
Marvelous!
You could just move that door over to prevent crowding with cabinets. Benoit is coming anyway!
I wish you would di a pocket door. I hate when the room is cluttered up with doors. Great progress..❤
I love pocket doors too, but I think where the light switch is going won’t make it possible.
Leave the door as it is --- it opens that way for privacy. Subtle refinements... we need more of them these days.
You can’t move the door over because the hallway wall is there.
That, "Hehe." by Filip @ 7:08. So funny!
