I do love the simplicity of Japanese numbers. No weird exceptions like eleven or twelve. Just ten-one and ten-two. They even numbered their months instead of naming them. Though high numbers get a little weird, always counted in multiples of ten thousand, and the counting systems are needlessly complicated, with a different suffix depending on the size and shape of the object being counted, but every language has its weird unnecessarily difficult parts.
Man, the way some like Bae, Irys, and Kiara can seamlessly speak English and Japanese is inspiring. Goals. Also goes for Holo ID. So many talented individuals.

When I was watching this live, ok first for context, I don't watch the JP girls aside from clips like this as I don't speak Japanese, so when I first heard everyone talking to mio, I thought it was korone based on her voice and I was so confused, I "heard her" but didn't see korone anywhere.
This is why I like the Japanese number system. Its a lot simpler than some of the weird stuff you get thrown at you in the romance languages. Instead of 11 being some weird new thing like "once" its just 10 and 1 (jyuu ichi). Instead of 30 being something like treinta its just 3 and 10 (san jyuu)
Gura can copy Japanese pitch intonation that is why her pronunciation is on point but her actual knowledge of japanese vocabulary is very limited. Gura is just a savant in pitch control that helps a lot in japanese pronunciation.
This was certainly a cute interaction. I do believe Gura would be quite fluent if she were to put in good practice and studying. But knowing her, I don't think she'll have the patience for that.
