I find it funny since JP tries to use english to communicate and vis versa with EN to JP. Then there's ID where it's so messy since some EN and JP are learning indonesian but not on the same scale as everyone learning japanese or english

Mio always seemed to struggle a lot with English, but she’s really improving! All of her English here is very clear! She’s the best

Oh yeah. I have 0% doubt. Once the fluency is engraved in the EN girls that struggle a bit at the moment, the branch collabs are gonna be absolutely divine. And I'm glad I live in that timeline.
The one who will have it the toughest is Amelia. Even Mumei is doing her best to study Japanese with Towa-sama.
On the JP side, Luna-hime will have it the toughest because she has not have a proper 1 to 1 collab with EN or ID.

Can't forget that the JP mems are trying to communicate in english so I appreciate both sides efforts on communicating with a language they're not familiar with. Still makes the interactions super fun and wholesome
@@赤ゲキ Luna studies quite a bit of English on her downtime surprisingly....or maybe not that surprisingly considering she was a Genmate of a certain Legendary Dragon. Luna's English isn't particularly great but she's definitely above average as far as the JP branch is concerned.

Luna’s level is Basic which means she has a long way to go but she is definitely learning.

I do love the simplicity of Japanese numbers. No weird exceptions like eleven or twelve. Just ten-one and ten-two. They even numbered their months instead of naming them. Though high numbers get a little weird, always counted in multiples of ten thousand, and the counting systems are needlessly complicated, with a different suffix depending on the size and shape of the object being counted, but every language has its weird unnecessarily difficult parts.

When I was watching this live, ok first for context, I don't watch the JP girls aside from clips like this as I don't speak Japanese, so when I first heard everyone talking to mio, I thought it was korone based on her voice and I was so confused, I "heard her" but didn't see korone anywhere.

Gura can copy Japanese pitch intonation that is why her pronunciation is on point but her actual knowledge of japanese vocabulary is very limited. Gura is just a savant in pitch control that helps a lot in japanese pronunciation.

Yep, she forgot that there's still the final race after the 3 races so she changed her third bid to be just 10. Mio gave her the revised bid but Gura blew all her stash even the 10 that she should have saved, only realizing it after Bae asked how many diamonds she have left. No worries though as Bae reclaimed those diamond from Mio as Gura is too shy.

This is why I like the Japanese number system. Its a lot simpler than some of the weird stuff you get thrown at you in the romance languages. Instead of 11 being some weird new thing like "once" its just 10 and 1 (jyuu ichi). Instead of 30 being something like treinta its just 3 and 10 (san jyuu)
Here in France we go like, 67, 68, 69.... 60 10! (And don't get me started with the 90 = 4 20 10)

It's interesting that she struggled with numbers, I find them to be the easiest part, the simple way of saying numbers is count to ten in Japanese, than if it's 20 you say two ten, 21 is two ten one.
It may be the pressure of speaking in a real situation that cause you to stress out and forget everything
