Beautifully made travel video. Loved watching this. This 4 minute clip would've involved hours of work. Wonderful attention to detail. Simple and lovely. Nothing to distract the viewer.
Hi beautiful colors! Did you ever try shot on iPhone, if yes do you prefer Samsung over iPhone, I can’t make decision witch one to buy, I am not going use gimbal, just steady shot, panning or small movements...beautiful video👍
Thanks Anna! The iPhone probably has a slight edge over the Samsung when it comes to video, but you should be able to produce very good video content with either one.
Thanks. If you don't have a gimbal, then 1. Stick to static shots or 2. Shoot in a high frame rate (60 fps or 120 fps) and slow it down in post. You can also stabilize shots in software like Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
@@chetanbhandare3866 Yeah, unfortunately the Smooth Q is not compatible with Filmic Pro. I think the Smooth Q2 should work with Filmic Pro, apart from the Smooth 4 and the DJI Osmo series of gimbals which are already supported.
@@VarunAbhiram Okk thanks, is the quality generally better? I wanna film a slow motion frisbee throw but the normal app quality is pretty un-useable and blurry in places
Hi man, does it have the ability to shoot in flat profile like dlog or d-cinelike?i also have S10 but i want to know if this works well with this phone before i make the purchase, thanks a lot
Yes, Filmic Pro does have a flat profile, but you have to pay extra to purchase the Cinematographer kit and it does not work when you use high frame rate (60 fps or higher).
Really nice video! You don't have any issues with the gimbal motor being visible on ultra wide angle with smooth Q and S10? mostly shot on wide lens here?
Thank you! Yes, the gimbal motor tends to get in the frame when you use the wide lens. The easy workaround for this is to hold the gimbal in flashlight mode. Majority of this video was shot with the regular lens as it's of much better quality than the wide lens.
@@VarunAbhiram You mean it comes to frame with ultra wide lens? wide= regular? I'm thinking of getting Q2 for travel but this trouble is embarassing.. But you might be right about ultra wide lens lesser quality, and there is no stabilisation on this one I think.
@@BornIntoThis20 I refer to the lenses as wide, regular and telephoto :) Yes, the ultra wide lens has lesser quality and there is no stabilization. I think Zhiyun released a firmware update for the Q2 that fixes the issue with ultra wide lens, so you should be good. On the Smooth Q, the only option is to use flashlight mode while filming.
@@VarunAbhiram Aparently their firmware fix consist of some kind of flashlite mode too :/ Never used a gimbal yet, don't know if this mode is very usable? doesn't seems natural to hold it like that
@@BornIntoThis20 Just watched this video and I see what you mean: ua-cam.com/video/atm0KGSgnXg/v-deo.html Don't worry, it's comfortable to hold it in that position. In fact, push-in and push-out shots turn out better when you hold it that way.
I am looking to get either the S10 or P30 pro and struggling to decide which one to get. Have you had many issues with the S10 for filming? Also did you film in 4k and downscaled it to 1080?
The whole video was shot in 1080p. I haven't had any issues filming with the S10, but you definitely need to get an app like Filmic Pro to get professional video. The standard camera app does not have manual controls for ISO, shutter speed and white balance. And of course, you can't shoot in a high bitrate. I haven't used the P30 pro myself, but from what I've seen online, the P30 pro seems to have better video features overall, but the S10 has better color science.
@@VarunAbhiram indeed, I shoot 90% of my mobile phone video on filmic pro (log profile) . I'm curious about things like heat issues shooting at 4k and overall stability. Also did you turn off the incamera sharpness? Thanks for filming this, it's very helpful!
@@ThisWayUpTravel thank you, glad you found it helpful! Yes, I did turn off the in-camera sharpness. I haven't experienced any heating issues shooting at 4K, but then again I never shoot more than a couple of minutes at a stretch.

good color grading, would have benefit from some blurring the background during some scenes, to really focus on the subject matter
May i ask whether s10 lite is compatible with q2 also? I am getting some info to make a final decision to go dji or zhiyun. Thank you.
Yes, should be compatible with the Q2 as well.
did you manage to find an app that compatible with Zhiyun Smooth Q??
