@@id104335409 SD cards didn't at the time read on windows PC's when they are setup for steam deck, even when using the linux backend for windows. it just didn't read, but i could FTP into. if i had a dock with a ethernet port i could of lan'd into it like Modded does for the ps4 but at the time docks where to expensive at the time and buggy. im pretty sure i could usb-c to usb-c into my deck now if i wanted but FTP and SSH are just more easy to use imo. plus if bought a few more SD cards or more expensive ones like the 1tb ones. i could hot swap them out and they could have all my games or or my emulation on the handheld to go, everything works on it too , ps3 / 360 and down , psp to switch. things a beast too if you have the oled model it has great battery life i forgot how much more then the base lcd model i have but its like 30-50% more battery life on oled
@@prathik9194 google ps4 pkg games. There are sites that host download links for every ps4 game out there. Then you just copy those to an empty flash drive and plug in your ps4. Open the goldhen menu and install the games. There are video tutorials on UA-cam how its done.
This is the first time I jailbreak and when I was searching for something like this I stumbled upon your old package sender made by yourself. It still works perfectly and I will keep using it until it breaks. You could have shown it in this video.

I am one week away from mac and you shoot an awesome video tutorial again! Love it! One clarification, the Timeout and Update Interval is only required for local PKGs as they will be served from your machine and the RPI does access them. But for the HB-Store files, the settings are unaffected because they will be installed straight from the PKG-zone server (or your own HB-Store CDN Server).

@@spideyverse8187 Make sure the application has network access enabled. Ping your ps IP on your terminal/console to make sure it is accessible on your network. 100% Network issue. Everything else follow as MW did.

Nah digital games aren’t the way, they can easily just wipe all the games online if they wanted. Maybe if you download the entire catalog and save it on a hard drive then sure 😂
My lan connection with the remote package sender seems to either stop progress in the middle or says its finished and the PS4 shows it with a install bar with an X in the middle. It says 'cannot install'. Why?
@@LivingwithPerks just found a better method without bridging the connections of the adapter. I'm going to try to explain it (bad english): when you go to the adapter options, and choose the wifi adapter and bridge it with the ethernet, instead of doing that, go to the properties of the ethernet, ipv4 protocol, and in IP address, put 10.0.0.1, in subnet mask put 255.0.0.0, and leave everything else in blank. Now in the PS4, in IP address put 10.0.0.2, subnet mask 255.0.0.0, gateway 10.0.0.253, and DNS 62.210.38.117(block sony servers). And that's it config your package sender to the new ethernet and ip. Now I got full speed like 60mbps it's crazy.
when you did this video the first time it took me so long to realize that i needed the ps4 to have a different ip i only figured it out because after the 40th video one guy barely casually mentioned it but it also doesnt like vpns
The app can not connect to RPI on PS4. Check your Firewall and see if something is blocking your connection from your PC to PS4. Ping your PS4 in your Terminal / Commandline with "ping PS4_IP_ADRESS" (put in the actual IP). Restart RPI (Remote Package Installer) and stay on splash screen. This information was gathered from the trouble shooting guide in the github.
I found a fix, i hope owner can share d information for everyone To solve dat problem activate ur pc hotpot everything will work fine make sure u follow his procedure. D only fix is to on ur pc hotpot.
Is it possible to use this method if you use computer and ps4 connected to the same router(both with ethernet cable), but not to each other? Update: It does work :D
This way is much slower in transfering the files, because you connect ps4 and pc via Ethernet to the modem separately, so files go first from pc then tru modem to ps4, connecting pc to ps4 via Ethernet and using ps4 as shared device to use internet will go straight from pc to ps4 files increasing much faster transfer rates.

It was working yesterday with Wi-Fi. Tried today with ethernet (both the PC and PS4 connected to an ethernet switch) but only got "timeout on request". Went back to having the PS4 on Wi-Fi and PC with cable, but I'm still getting timeout on request.
I seem to run into an issue where it shows "cannot install" with an X on the installation progress bar. Happened with Last of us Remastered and AC3 Remastered. Both games show a bar split into 2 showing where if the first bar is complete you can start the game. What would the solution be?
Did you find your issue yet? On backported games you have to install with the installer on the ps4, idk why but this method doesn’t allow backported games to work
Following the tutorial, as soon as I enabled internet sharing, the PS4 asked to update (even though everything was disabled and with a payload that prevents updates installed) it tried to download the latest update and it gave an error. After trying to install games via remote package installer, apparently the pkg was changed, as one did not open after being installed and was identified as retail by items flow (the one I downloaded is fpkg) and the other game had its installation interrupted, as an error requested firmware 11.02 or newer. Installing the same files via external HD I had no problems.

@David_Austin I just said fk it and got a external ssd 1k mbps/600 read right speeds it'll be alot faster than a 3.0 usb stick which is what I was using.
Fallout 4 60fps patch doesn't work properly, it stays locked at 30 goes to 60 for a few seconds and back to locked 60. While enabling the 720p resolution patch it doesn't start at all, showing an error just after the '' xx patch lines applied '' and shuts down the game.
the question is whether the program takes all the data of the game together with the DLC or just the game, or whether it is necessary to combine all the DLC into one pkg file or can it run everything together.I hope you understand my point
For some reason the direct connection didn't want to work for me but I have a router with gigabit ports and connecting both the PC and PS4 to the router worked and it's also pretty fast, maybe just as fast as direct connection.

Find one for 11.00, there's a ton of them right now. Also you can get any version under 11.00 and update it manually to 11.00. Or just get a 9.00 the JB for that version seems to work fine...

Not working for me, don’t know why. Installation gets canceled randomly after 2-3 GB. Edit: small files like dlcs are installing perfectly. 21 GB update also installed. I guess the base game was corrupted. I extracted all the zip files again to an external SSD then installed via usb.

You can do it over your home network too, it's slightly slower, but so long as you have the right IP address when both connected to the same router via ethernet or WiFi. You will be good to go
@@bobsterwood I keep timing out via wifi, i think it might be a port issue, it really depends how much of an arse your ISP is when it comes to wifi working cause some of these newer mesh based router/modems especially things like the eero series from amazon make it more complicated than it needs to be (my eero 6+ has most unused ports blocked as a security feature from my ISP and i have to contact them to unblock ports on my own device because they have the port customising section of the app for the router locked down so I can't change things easily, Some ISP's go over the top these days to block torrent related ports so doesn't surprise me there's gonna be issues with some routers which in this case really sucks because all the activity is only locally why do I need to involve my ISP to change settings I'm fully capable of is beyond me

you Could techincally make it Wireless? if it was possible over your router (( given theres now a PPPwn package for OpenWRT) w/ one of those bridge/extenders thats so smol plugs into an outlet and has an ethernet jack , but that just would be more or less making it not so ungodly gangly. if running lan cables everywhere isnt yer thing. just get a Pi Zero 2W, a cheap USB Ethernet adapter and a short Ethernet cable. n power the Pi off a USB Battery Bank/ PS4 USB. (( and can just switch Back to the PS4's Wifi once PPPwn'd)

There is no PPPoE in the Wi-Fi protocol. Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet typically runs on a broadband connection. What some do is, for example, use a Router or another device that you connect via WIFI, and through this device you connect to the PS4 via Ethernet, and that is where the confusion lies. The exploit is through the ethernet port of the ps4.
Thanks! I've been trying to get this to work since 11.00 dropped. I can get Filezilla to work for transferring files over FTP now, but everytime I tried to use the pkg sender app, I got an error message saying Timeout on Request. Tried troubleshooting by increasing request timeout, but that didn't help
is this method of increasing the speed working with usb Ethernet adapter coz my laptop doesn't have an Ethernet port my setup completely offline with virtual network and my speed between 5~10 MB is there any method to make it faster with the usb Ethernet adapter ???
Is the usb adapter a 3.0+ device (blue connector) and plugged into a 3.0 port? That would be the first thing I would check. After that, could check in Device Manager for the hardware Properties for the adapter and make sure 'Speed & Duplex' on the Advanced tab isn't set to 10mbps, if it is set it to 100 or 1gb or Auto, and see if that helps. Otherwise, I would guess probably out of luck with that device.
HI, somepoint after my PS4 went to rest mode while jailbroken it frozen and after reboot I rebuilt database from safe menu and after that homebrew App is disappeared from menu. Now I can not reinstall homebrew app via Goldhen package installer section because it says it already installed. how to resolve this issue.
When it asks if you want to install the package that is already installed just press yes. If you reintall itemzflow and open it I believe there is an option to rebuild the DB there and your other apps will return to the XMB.
When I click store-r2.pkg, pop up box comes top left corner says” package allready installed and disappear. It doesn’t ask do you want to install package allready installed do you wanna reinstall.
Hey I fixed that issue. Apparently that happens when database corrupted. I installed direct packed installer and using dpi I installed explored 2.0 pkg . I used explorer 2.0 and browse to usb stick and select latest homebrew store pkg and said install via explorer 2.0. Finally it appeared on main stage. Now I can install pkg’s directly from homebrew store. I hope that helps.
Sharing my experience: I sent Witcher 3 goty around 40GO, it showed 7 minutes, the percentage went up really fast until around 60% and it showed 1h20min to finish, i decided to wait but at around 70% i noticed the percentage won't go up and the ps4 failed to connect, i restarted the Remote package installer and it went from 70% to 89% and about 5 minutes later it showed ''finish'', looking at my ps4 screen on RPI the notification about 'xx ready to use' didn't show up so i knew something was off, i exited the RPI and a notification showed up with ''cannot install'' So yeah i think it is not reliable, at least for me, i'll just continue to FTP the files.

If you're using a Raspberry Pi to Jailbreak can you use the wifi connection from that to use Remote Package Installer?

so whenever i try to run my installed ps2 backup, i keep getting a persistent system message that tells me the save data is corrupt, and ask if i want to create a new one, no matter what i choose, the message repeatedly pops up, but in between the pop ups, the ps2 game is running. any tips is greatly appreciated :)

Not working for me, don’t know why. Installation gets canceled randomly after 2-3 GB.
Edit: small files like dlcs are installing perfectly. 21 GB update also installed. I guess the base game was corrupted. I extracted all the zip files again to an external SSD then installed via usb.

You can do it over your home network too, it's slightly slower, but so long as you have the right IP address when both connected to the same router via ethernet or WiFi. You will be good to go
@@bobsterwood I keep timing out via wifi, i think it might be a port issue, it really depends how much of an arse your ISP is when it comes to wifi working cause some of these newer mesh based router/modems especially things like the eero series from amazon make it more complicated than it needs to be (my eero 6+ has most unused ports blocked as a security feature from my ISP and i have to contact them to unblock ports on my own device because they have the port customising section of the app for the router locked down so I can't change things easily, Some ISP's go over the top these days to block torrent related ports so doesn't surprise me there's gonna be issues with some routers which in this case really sucks because all the activity is only locally why do I need to involve my ISP to change settings I'm fully capable of is beyond me

you Could techincally make it Wireless? if it was possible over your router (( given theres now a PPPwn package for OpenWRT) w/ one of those bridge/extenders thats so smol plugs into an outlet and has an ethernet jack , but that just would be more or less making it not so ungodly gangly. if running lan cables everywhere isnt yer thing. just get a Pi Zero 2W, a cheap USB Ethernet adapter and a short Ethernet cable. n power the Pi off a USB Battery Bank/ PS4 USB. (( and can just switch Back to the PS4's Wifi once PPPwn'd)

There is no PPPoE in the Wi-Fi protocol. Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet typically runs on a broadband connection. What some do is, for example, use a Router or another device that you connect via WIFI, and through this device you connect to the PS4 via Ethernet, and that is where the confusion lies. The exploit is through the ethernet port of the ps4.

I can get Filezilla to work for transferring files over FTP now, but everytime I tried to use the pkg sender app, I got an error message saying Timeout on Request. Tried troubleshooting by increasing request timeout, but that didn't help

Is the usb adapter a 3.0+ device (blue connector) and plugged into a 3.0 port? That would be the first thing I would check. After that, could check in Device Manager for the hardware Properties for the adapter and make sure 'Speed & Duplex' on the Advanced tab isn't set to 10mbps, if it is set it to 100 or 1gb or Auto, and see if that helps. Otherwise, I would guess probably out of luck with that device.

HI, somepoint after my PS4 went to rest mode while jailbroken it frozen and after reboot I rebuilt database from safe menu and after that homebrew App is disappeared from menu. Now I can not reinstall homebrew app via Goldhen package installer section because it says it already installed. how to resolve this issue.
When it asks if you want to install the package that is already installed just press yes. If you reintall itemzflow and open it I believe there is an option to rebuild the DB there and your other apps will return to the XMB.
When I click store-r2.pkg, pop up box comes top left corner says” package allready installed and disappear. It doesn’t ask do you want to install package allready installed do you wanna reinstall.
Hey I fixed that issue. Apparently that happens when database corrupted. I installed direct packed installer and using dpi I installed explored 2.0 pkg . I used explorer 2.0 and browse to usb stick and select latest homebrew store pkg and said install via explorer 2.0. Finally it appeared on main stage. Now I can install pkg’s directly from homebrew store. I hope that helps.
Sharing my experience:
I sent Witcher 3 goty around 40GO, it showed 7 minutes, the percentage went up really fast until around 60% and it showed 1h20min to finish, i decided to wait but at around 70% i noticed the percentage won't go up and the ps4 failed to connect, i restarted the Remote package installer and it went from 70% to 89% and about 5 minutes later it showed ''finish'', looking at my ps4 screen on RPI the notification about 'xx ready to use' didn't show up so i knew something was off, i exited the RPI and a notification showed up with ''cannot install''
So yeah i think it is not reliable, at least for me, i'll just continue to FTP the files.
