Really love the way you implement contrast and especially in this case use them more as washes! Keep it up :) Nice to see someone else is also leaning heavily on contrast for shading metal. Will definetly try your recipe for silver and gold.
How masterful! I just got this mini for free with my first Warhammer purchase, so that I could practice painting on it. Wanted to look up some examples on what these characters are supposed to look like. But WOW! This looks so awesome. Will try to get most of the colours you used in the video this weekend and give it my best shot.
Absolutely beautiful work! I rather like the effect the contrast paints have on the metallic paints and I really should apply that next time I do a fantasy subject in full armor. Keep up the fine work! 👍👍
This is stellar! I would love to see you take on some of the non-metallic Stormhosts, especially the turquoise/teal Celestial Vindicators (though your take on the purples and magenta’s of Astral Templars/Celestial Warbringers would also be fantastic I’m sure)
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures clear, easy to follow and it looks exactly how I want mine to 😊 can I ask, which sizes would you recommend from the Rosemary 33 series?
This look amazing! But I feel sick and uneasy just watching while thinking about attempting something this indepth for a full army, therefore I could not watch till the end lol.
Those bluish-silver and blue armour recipes are sooo good! I'm saving those. Great job, Juan! Btw, out of curiosity, what did you use to paint the stones on the base? Thanks!
As you know I watch all your videos and this one set's a higher bar once more. Great work !!! The metallics are amazing .... nearly sad now that I am going for Hammers of Sigmar with mine. I think I will test there to work with Cryptek Armor Shade and Contrast Medium for the deep recesses to give them a more grim feeling compared to my Sacrosanct Chamber. Maybe I can work in something on the metallic stuff you showed of here on the chainmail and weapons. Intersting that you went for a different black highlights with grey again :D I am not exactly sure that the highlight color for the red leather fit's perfectly. Looks a little bit like wax .... but that's only to critic something for once :P ;) The intro was a really nice touch. Made me laugh my ass off :) Please show of the basing you did at some point. Want to copy it 1:1 shamelessly. Sending over some love to you and your family
Thanks! As for the basing, you can see how I do it in the How to Base - Basing Paste video. The rocks are just corax - Agaros: Basilicanum 1:2 - Drybrush of deepkin Flesh
Thanks for the suggestion but I highly doubt that is going to happen. At least not any time soon, maybe in the future. This is basically the best GK armour I've done, combine it with my other videos for a good result.
Gracias! Quizas algun dia pero tienes tres videos de Marines de color negro con diferentes guiños a la armadura de donde elegir. Quizas el de los Iron Hands sea el mejor, pruebalo.
Is there any way we can see your palette and water cup to see how you load your brush and get that exact paint consistency? If I were to try feathering like you do, the paint would already be dry before I lift off the brush.
You need a bigger brush essentially, also and this can be a bit frustrating, the weather is VERY important for feathering sadly. If your local weather is dry or hot it will be significantly more difficult if even possible at all without using retarder
If possible could you recommend if you were to do a Sacrosanct model/unit where they have the robes and such, what color would you would do them? It seems that if you do blue, beyond spending more time in that problematic color, they would look quite a bit like a Hammers of Sigmar model with just a bit of silver poking out where you see the random leg or something. If you think you'd just stick with the color that should not be named, its ok, I understand. :)
Great video as always. May I ask what varnish you would recommend when using true metallic paints without an airbrush? I find the GW varnish can mutes it, but is Ardcoat any good? Thanks
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures thanks that’s really interesting to hear! All my pieces are display as I don’t play…but I have been a bit disappointed sometimes my work feels like it is hindered by a varnish. Especially on my custodes. I will try leaving natural next time

I am trying to make a green knight cavalry unit. I am using this tutorial to make the green-ish armor. Can't find this online, so I am asking you: Are there any other green (or blue as well ) contrast paints that are transparent as the Gryph-Charger grey? Or should I just choose the green I like and mix some contrast medium to it to make it like a glaze?
Might you tell me why you go for Kantor/Templeguard instead of Alaitoc for the blue base? Whats the difference to your last SE? Could also use Alaitoc and if I did, should I use the Leviadon in another ratio to the Medium? Thanks
It's just to present another option, I don't like to repeat recipes if I can avoid it. You ca use Alaitoc and then the same mix of Leviadon in here and get almost to the same place
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Makes sense, thanks for your answer! Love your recipes but got to say it can sadly not quite follow them 100%: Your brush control is simply out of this world. What Brushes do you use in this with this fine tip? :)

The base is done like it's explained in the

I got a size 3 brush from Rosemary &co - omg its so much easier to paint now!
I KNOW RIGHT?! Once you learn how to control a large brush, nothing beats it.
The wick and point are bang on
