EB is now one of my favorite bands. I just love everything about them, drums, vocals, bass, piano, synths all complement each other really well. And as for your “complaint” about them not being really catchy, just give it time. That’s my first thought for each new song of theirs and soon enough I just cannot take them out of my head. You’ll see. I loved this deep dive format. Would be great to see another one sometime.
Lyn used to have a soundcloud account. It was emptied after EB got signed. She had some fantastic covers done her way that showcased her talent way before she got to lipa. Covering Rick Wakeman!!! Who even does that?
Usually I'm not a huge fan of female voices. In this case though, I really love Lyns voice. I usually listen to all kind of subgernes of metal or rock, but also a lot of acoustic or indie. I love complex structure, interesting instruments,... For me guitar solos are kind of boring most of the time, it's overly used and oftentimes not even that outstanding. But songs with piano solos, bass solos, drum solos, it also can be a flute or a saxophone,... I really love that. Exploring Birdsong is ideal for what I want to hear, no guitar at all, sometimes a prominent bass, sometimes interesting drumfills, always a lovely piano or keyboard. Bonus: the three are also super lovely ❤️
Love the drums and bass from the thing with feathers album. The vocals just not my type, sounds so churchy, maybe coz of the keyboards/piano with it too. And ooohhh love the slapping bass solo in the baptism! 🖤
They said in an interview they included or might include "Espera", the trio their singer is in, that backs Sleeptoken. so behold for some multilayer vocal brilliance
Ahhhh so hype for you to be checking them out!! They’re such a lovely band ❤
All I lack is THE song now, a real short one, but touched my heart and mind and not let me go.
Yes every single of them. Their debut album is one of my absolute anticipated of the year
Had the absolute pleasure of seeing them live at their first headline show in London, and they were just as good as in the studio (if not better!)
I need to see them live some day. I bet it’s fantastic.
Yay, delighted you've done a proper deep dive, they’re one of my favs and I'm so happy to see you enjoying them!

I really enjoyed every aspect of that. Yes to more of these kinds of thing. Fabulous work.
Never heard of this band before and I'll say it hits the nail right in the head. Really reminds me of some Reign of Kindo stuff.
Tysm, Steve!
Amazing original sound! Loved these guys from the beginning and such nice people too
Hell yeah, this is what ive been waiting for!!!!!!!
"Hope" is the thing with feathers is a poem by Emily Dickinson
Look forward to watching this later. Such a great band.
Wearing that hoodie and not mentioning………

That Deftones cover tho. Real nice.
Hahaaa knew you’d like that. Soooo good.

Exploring Birdsong are a lovely vibe in the morning for me
Told you that Deftones cover is good! Really hoping they make a reappearance at Radar this year.
Leeet's gooo! 🤩 My discovery of 2024 besides Gloomchild and GRINN.

Bear the weight's "breakdown" section reminds me of a Tool song. 46 and 2? Not a musician so i may be way off. Lol 😂
I can sort of hear a bit of a link there yeah
“Nothing Loki about you…” Twitch chat rubbing off on you 😂

Had the same reaction on my own deep dive 👍 If you are looking for more jaunty jazz, check out Entertain Me by Tigran Hamasyan
Im sure I'm not spoiling too much by saying the lead singer is one of Espera.
👌
