  • Join me on my ongoing journey to create the perfect fantasy LARP capsule wardrobe. In this video, I take a bag of clothes from a charity shop and turn them into a stylish and characterful look book. Follow along as I experiment with different outfits, seeing what works and what doesn't, and along the way, creating a unique character that I can bring to life in my role-playing adventures.
I know that putting together a fantasy LARP wardrobe can be daunting, especially when trying to find pieces that fit the aesthetic of our chosen character. That's why I'm sharing my process with you, to help inspire your own wardrobe choices and give you the confidence to take on this challenge.
I test out different combinations of clothing, accessories, and footwear to create a cohesive and functional look for my character. I explore different styles, colors, and textures to find the perfect balance between fashion and function.
As I build my character's wardrobe, I not only create a visual representation of who they are, but I also delve deeper into their personality and backstory. This helps me to fully immerse myself in my role-playing experience and bring my character to life.
So, if you're looking for inspiration for your own fantasy LARP wardrobe or just love fashion and role-playing, this video is for you. Join me on this exciting journey of creativity and self-expression, and let's see where our imaginations can take us!

"I've made another neurodiverse character again" is SUCH a mood, though 😂

For you consideration: Hel, being a good competent spy, probably uses people's perceptions of her-as-diplomat to deflect suspicion of spy-ish things that just sort of happen around them. "Did you hear about the ambassador that was poisoned last week at the gala? They say he was planning a coup! Apparently he was talking to the Lady Heliotrope when he just dropped dead!" "Oh the poor thing must be so shaken, they look anxious enough in normal circumstances already"

The word “obijime” activated the kimono special interest sleeper agent in me

I love Helitrope, she is wonderful, and you've done a great job bringing her to life. I hope we will get to see more of her. You know fashions change, maybe a short hair craze will sweep the kingdom sometime soon. I'm looking forward to seeing the scarve video. Also, as a side note, as much as I love the purple gloves, she's gonna need another pair, those are too closely associated with her and the royal family. Maybe a close fitting pair in dark grey or black for her or her work.

That peak fancy look though! The drape, the color, the silhouette so marvelous.

Re-programming a Cuckoo Clock with a dead battery thrown spasmodically at close range 😵
Some great ideas there. The use of the cape (material with broach) is just magic.

"statistically, I've seen the numbers" 😂
(but seriously, I've been digging into your backlist, how did I miss it?)

      I HAD NOT MISSED IT.
(I had even commented! I'll just say that I have no brain, and go hide somewhere)

This is so true... "people don't show up for the sewing videos in the way that they say that they will" On my own channel my sewing videos do the worst even through proportionally I spend the most time on them. Also I look forward to the scarf video!

This was super super interesting. I really enjoyed how you explained the creation of Hel. My brain does not work in this way. I cannot create a character to save my life.

Thanks! This was really fun. I found you through your larp content, so I'm completely on board for more. Currently working on my first character for larp this spring and seeing others' processes has been very helpful.

This was fun…. I think I’ve met your character or someone from the same school in a book.
I show up for all your videos. I even like the sewing ones but I will go rewatch /listen to them this afternoon when I’m hemming that pair of pants

Darn you have a bigger back log than I knew. Took more than an afternoon to watch. I hadn't realized that I hadn't watched all of your videos. They were all great and I'm learning more about LARP. As I've said before the costuming transfers to everything. The best Anime I did for a kid was mostly thrifted ready wear and a fake fur remnant. That reminds me I think the fur collar is still just safety pinned on.

For the wig - could you get a styrofoam head to style the wig on? (I don't know if you already have one and are already using it). That way you could style it before you put it on. You could do french braids from the temples, and it makes the fall towards the back more controllable.
Those pigtail braids you could also make as a swiss crown (braid ribbons into the ends and wrap them around your head to secure the braid if the hair is really silky).
One observation - the long scarf around the side braid when Hel's doing swordwork - just looks like a opportunity to get grabbed and pulled and then she'll be on the floor.

Consider: loud skirt at an event where Hel needs to be noticed, and to allay suspicions of enemies she is spying on.

hi, it's me, I'm the person who also makes neurodivergent characters without meaning to because that's just my brain 😅

After watching the video a few times I am thinking Heliotrope normally lives in a much warmer climate and has been called to court due to whatever events she is investigating. She is not happy about formal court stuff because she doesn't normally have to do them. Now about that skirt...put it over some of the dresses with the painted scarf as a belt rather than trying to put it under them. Otherwise I like all the looks you put together.
