    Great video! When I first started with chest/triceps dips (body weight) I experienced pain close to the collar-bone-area when I lowered my body. Do you know why that happened? Is it a "common feel" when you first start doing it with body weight?

    Does the triceps version dips works all the 3 portions of the tricep? (medial, long, lateral)

    • @Grimmjow19872
      @Grimmjow19872 2 роки тому

      Yes, and it builds a lot of triceps strength for pressing movements. you want big arms and pressing power dips are key.

  • @NLLeFa
    @NLLeFa 7 років тому

    Can't agree on the triceps dips though. The range of motion has to be bigger. And tbh, the whole point of dips is to do it for all triceps, chest and shoulders. That's why it's a compound movement, like the bench press, the close bench press, the ohp etc.. I personally don't see a point in leaning forward to just target the chest. It's stupid and puts unnecessary tension on the front delts. We don't need an injury.

  • @pajtim9079
    @pajtim9079 7 років тому

    I've watched a video here on YT and claims the chest dips are harmful for the deltoids. Too much stress on 'em and thus will damage them. Is that true, B? I haven't felt any pain after doing it many times.

    • @pajtim9079
      @pajtim9079 7 років тому

      +Gaurav Sharma I agree. You have to also warm up and stretch the arms quite good and delts beforehand.
      I think the guy's name is Ron Williams(african-american) who entitled his videos as "Stop doing this!" or something like that.

    • @pajtim9079
      @pajtim9079 7 років тому

      +Gaurav Sharma oh, so it really depends if one actually feels pain, and cease doing it. Logical.
      I'm in a mission to bulk big time. Thanks for the reply dude.
      Stay BUFF!

    So what about how to get into dips at all, im at 103 kg and by no means i would be able to press that weight by now. neither chest nor isolating triceps, dont wanna join the quarter dip club that can be seen in my gym. maybe boxed negative dips? filming those would have been great not only for beginners but also for fatties like me who want to get in shape in 2017 (new years resolutioner here but still motivated) How much weight should i be able to flat bench press to even think about dips?

    • @MrZebbe23
      @MrZebbe23 7 років тому +1

      Grokarr my one rep max in bench is 80kg and my body weight is 85kg. I can do about 6 clean reps (I am very tall, 6'5 or 197 cm and bodyweight exercises is something tall people are not good at...). Try to do some bench press and also close grip bench press. What I would recommend for you is to try do dips... even if you can only do one or juts as much as you can perform of one full rep, then do a couple of slow negative reps. At the same time when you do this, you should try to lose weight. The dips will become easier when you lose weight. if you can do one clean rep at 103kg bw, you will be able to do more reps if you lose weight even tho you haven't gained any strength...

    • @andreasveenstra5405
      @andreasveenstra5405 7 років тому +1

      Grokarr If you have bands than use those for assisted dips/pullups etc, if there is a machine in your gym that assists you that can work as well but bands are prefered

    • @rsoss92js
      @rsoss92js 7 років тому

      Sizzler 14 Anything that works your chest and triceps (Autocorrect really wanted me to say triceratops) should help you with dips. If you can't do a dip, I assume you can't yet do a pushup either? If that's the case try doing pushups from the knees or incline pushups or try benching whatever you can without overdoing it.

    • @sizzler1474
      @sizzler1474 7 років тому

      Yes your right! My push ups are quite embarrassing. I am working on it. And my bench is slowly increasing. Upper body strength not great, but i understand these things cant be rushed. Thanks for the advice!

    • @rsoss92js
      @rsoss92js 7 років тому

      Sizzler 14 No worries, it wasn't that long ago that I was in the same position. I remember doing incline pushups for a while before I could do a proper one and once you can do a few pushups, you'll be able to do dips too.

      James S correct. In other videos, however, he's out of breath and with a cut he could catch his breath and gather his thoughts, so my comment was precedented even if it doesn't apply to this particular video.

I said they voided their contract with me by removing equipment that was present at signing so I stopped paying and going. . . They claimed it was because some people were dropping weights, I told them they should address those customers......god damn morons. BLAST fitness was the name of the place.
