Nice update buddy, make sure to post another once youve got it sorted too! Would also be great to see some 3rd and 1st person footage of this in use. I still havent made mine yet, just as well because looks like your taking this to another level... great idea using the gym bike seat!

The gym bike seat will allow my wife to give me that extra push should it be needed. The mesh back of the office chair used to bend and the mesh had holes in places due to getting thrown around the place.

shawn G let me know how the mkii performs once youve got it on some dirt mate. Do you think it may be able to cope with a mountain bike trail if the tracks wide enough?

Stalking you from the MK1 post...
Re the rear caster: I understand, in principle, the need for the rear caster stem to be mounted vertically. And the need for the spring loaded catch and divot to keep the rear wheel from wandering. But (he said smugly, as if he'd thought of something that you hadn't already thought of), wouldn't a slight caster angle (5 degrees?) tend to keep the wheel centered without inducing more than a slight up-and-down bounciness when turning?

I haven't tried it but when I've had the two big wheels up on a curb and the smaller one down it just feels uncontrollable. It fights you. I am not saying no, it could be that you can get used to it but I have now bought all the bits to make an adjustable all steel catch. :)

Disaster!!!!! not only did the build land me in Hospital the large rear wheel could not take sideways force and bent almost to collapse.
The seat from a recumbent exercise bike was so slippery and could hardly stay in it.
Back to the drawing board on this one I am afraid. :(
