My car doesn't have a back up camera and some times I kinda wish it had one. I don't know why I've never been attracted to Vaughn even though one of my favorite goalies use Vaughn, but curiously enough I want to try the Vaughn pants. I'm not a tucker but my warrior chestie has a couple of loops inside and I can tie the pants floating belt to it so it's what I call a reverse tuck (if that makes any kind of sense) 8:20 it's interesting that concept, but the difference should be a the wrist portion, if the change of length is at the front of the shoulder the hole arm would be different, the elbow part would sit at different positions, I would like a longer blocker side arm, but say maybe just an extra wrist cover would do the trick. Nice video Coach M!
Those Vaughn pants are really nice. The chesty is comfy too. Probably a lot more cars in Mexico City than here in London- so you might need the back up camera more.
I bought the SLR4 after watching your video. My question is how do make the shoulders move out wider so that my head doesn't hit when I turn my head. I already moved the straps out to the outer clip. Thanks!
I'm not really sure, not an issue I had when using that chesty on the ice, but I did include Jay's contact info in the video, he is the equipment wizard, so I would reach out to him and see what he suggests.
@@MitchSpeck ha ha - no, I don't have THAT good of a memory - if I had to guess I would think it comes up on the screen probably when they are first shown in the video, but I could be wrong. They don't say their contact info, so it won't show up in the transcript, it will be an overlay.
I'm 43 been a goaltender for a long time. Never had this happen before...As of the last month I am on my second rib injury. Both times i was diving for puck. Extremely painful. I was assuming I fell on a buckle but it just happened again and its on the other side of my chest now. Another bad bruised rib maybe slight fracture. Cannot tell if its just a freak thing where I'm landing on a buckle or its time for a new chest protector. It still seems to be in decent condition. Now I am out for another month recovering. Both injuries are towards the top of ribs and more toward the outside. I injured both sides separately, one healed now I have another just several weeks later. Any thoughts? Been really appreciating your stretching techniques btw...Thanks!
Do you know it is a bruised or cracked rib... could be a subluxation - those can be very painful. If your thoracic spine is stiff and you are diving and reaching, that could do it. Either way, sorry that you have experienced that. It would be worth getting checked by a physiotherapist.
Hello. I am a returning goalie. Was testing some chest and pants this week. I want to ask. I tried the SLR3 Chest protector in L size. Was sitting great on me. But as I am like you , always tuck. The guy in the shop, is suggesting to be able to tuck, to go larger pants so XL size. What do you think ? Somehow I am note sure about this. My height is 177cm and well only 75Kgs weight. So I think those XL pants will be really big on me. I think I need to try the whole set, chest and pants, again.
Hmmm - I know some goalies do get big big pants to take up more space and mine are big, but not so big I am swimming around in there. The Vaughn SLR4 (assuming SLR3 as well) pants should let you tuck, half tuck or untuck, so I'm not sure you need to go THAT big. This is just my opinion, but I think your instinct is right - go back in there and try the chest and pants on together again. I would also ask if you can return them if they are unused, then at home I would try it all on with my skates and pads on too - just to see how the pads feel with the pants too.
Thank you very much. Appreciate it. And thank you for your videos. They are helping a lot for guys like me who are returning as goalie after 25-30 years. Great work.
@@jovzin8022 i am 173cm wearing X-Large. Never got issues. Tie the suspenders a bit higher, get more space Round your hips, rips and above your pads. Try out
hmmm - makes sense - I figured since you could wear them in the NHL, then it would be okay in the CHL, but if they have to pay for the right to be in the league, then I guess that makes sense.
I have the SLR2 and I half tuck the other way I tuck the sides into my pants and leave the front flap out and love it
Oh, that’s unique. Do you tie it down or use suspenders?
@@goalietraining yeah suspenders over top and tied into my pants under the front flap
@@adamgrare8070 Very cool.

Why did you removed the suspender holder buckles in the floaters??? I love them...
You'd have to ask the Vaughn guys that one, sorry.
