Apologies for any coughing, sniffling, or background noise in this video. I was recovering from a sickness at this time and my background noise wasn't properly filtered. It's also some older gameplay, but all the ideas I teach in the video apply.
thank you so much for breaking these down. it might not matter to some but the distinction helps me. I was itching my brain for a while cause some people would throw the phrase "global bias" around without really explaining it. the responses were along the lines of "it's when someone just spams a/d" so I thought it fell under unconscious bias with it being done unintentionally from lack of watching your videos or having little experience with fps games. Your explanation helped me understand how it falls under conscious bias, with it being a deliberate choice and you can choose which way to strafe with fakes.
I know this may be a broad question, but when should I be reactively strafing (trying to mirror or anti mirror my opponent based on their movements) vs doing my own strafe completely independent of what they do e.g. global bias?
Hey, thanks for the info, a highly informational video compared to other "get better videos." Just one thing I'd like your opinion on, in 21:40, as a controller player, anti-mirroring is better than mirroring. If you were controller, would you rather anti-mirror to track him easier but not have cover, or mirror him but get the cover.
Anti-mirroring is better and easier for controller players to do, yes. I cover this a little bit in a VOD I have with Linkzr here: ua-cam.com/video/N1paN68NNTE/v-deo.html
i'm a noob but typically there are a couple advantages to anti mirroring which is really just leveraging your own gunskill over your opponent. since anti mirroring makes you and your opponent move your crosshair more it leverage's the skill dif between you. close range on controller vs an mnk player you basically always want to anti mirror
10:01 over here wouldn’t it be better to use the wall the wraith is pinned up against to our advantage? so keep like a 45 degree angle by using WD OR WA cause if we strafe left and be perpendicular to the wraith wont she have more room to move/ strafe?
I answered your question on my livestream but for everyone else in the comments, here is a clip of my explanation: clips.twitch.tv/BeautifulPoliteCaribouSpicyBoy-oJyH2154-JEgBEpL
A little tip I have for you, please learn to talk a little slower and more structured especially because your a coach. I had a hard time following what you were explaining because you started a sentence and then stopped it halfway to say something else and then said “right” at the end of every sentence. Your very knowledgeable about the game and it’s movement and I appreciate your video.

This is one of the best videos I've ever seen for getting better at apex. I never knew there was so much depth to just strafing.

@@zorkmeadd Yeah, but there are different situations when u want to mirror (like getting to cover), which is why I wanted his opinion as well
