Lorhey is the absolute Hero of the game for me with the double wonder kill. loved that.

While I love a good power of friendship narrative where true friendship survives through thick and thin, 5v3 into allied victory feels like holding hands and singing kumbaya after you've just nuked a third world country. I was team Green the second those bombards went in on the Wonder. Though I wish green could have won, I still found Blue accidentally killing Grey at the last second a twistedly satisfying sort of poetic justice, after they had attempted the premature allied victory followed by spending the whole second half of the game aggressively campaigning for peace.
Gotta say that was THE move by red that just triggered the entire other team to devolve. Beautifully done.
It has become so cliché and predictable that in a group of players that can all get an allied victory win, that one of them will betray the others to get a solo win. It would honestly be a shocking plot-twist at this point to see an actual allied victory happen!
It's the prisoner's dilemma. Why win as a team when you can hit betray and get all the winnings yourself?

I have to admit I was a jerk in this one (orange). Green was a good player, but I had a grudge against him, being the strongest player and whatnot... I missed about 90% of fun being in-game, focused and excited, as I dont play much AoE2. But T90 missed 90% of my action - holding off in the middle, taking down trade, chasing green king around the castles... So we are even! 11
Sorry for that, i know that feeling from other games I played, where T90 had his attention somewhere else. I also would have liked him to pick up on the chase tho 11.

I know people usually don't like allied victory, but I feel like it was reasonable for the final 2 after what they went through. 2 players allied victory is alright and can make a fun story, but large group allied victory cuts the game short.
No love story in this game. It isnbest when its to the last blood. Better plot twists.

I was rooting for the team of 3, they played the best and most loyal to each other. Grey and blue relies too much on orange and green fighting red and purple and i would say it was Yellows push that finally put an end to teal. Grey talked more than ive ever seen a player talk and it would have been disappointing to see their win off the backs of others. Blue was at least a border war player and deserved the win for overcoming his anxiety and staying strong. To think what would have happened if it was green, red, and purple as alliance but oh well. Watching red hold was the climax of the game, the rest was just nonsense honestly and i fast forwarded through the last 45 minutes. I understand diplo is the reason i love commie games but this was to a different, annoying, level. Watching green and orange fight purple and red was like watching titans exchange blows while some rando just kept posting status updates...

Yep, Grey could have been eliminated sooner. But everyone is too nice for it. The reason grey survive for so long feels like its less tied to the game, but seems more about other feels bad about doing it.
Its not like grey have anything to bargain to be allied with. The moment Grey wonder was up I would've expect the rest to shut it down right away. But nah, no one tells grey to delete it as well.
Being a slippery diplo and backstabbing ally are at least involved on the game, people show their wits and tricks to be the top. But allied victory with 5 people? Its just relying on feelings, and to not involve in the game. Grey survival until near the end was mostly based on sympathy than performance, as Grey have nothing to bring in the bargaining table. Honestly it irritates me quite a bit, it doesnt push the game to its limit by promoting passiveness.
But, in the end its diplo so its fair I guess, hopefully not the norm though as it gets boring, people aiming for the top is what drives the game.
Red, Teal, and Purp definitely entertains, and idk if red was intentional in putting the wonder as to bait enemy building their own first and fight each other, but if it is intentional, red is definitely MVP of the video as driving factor of the game until the end. Wp by teal and purple too for holding out so long despite outnumbered.

I would wager that had it not been video that will be uploaded on youtube, grey would be killed much sooner. Because no one wants to be seen as "bad guy" in the video. Unfortunately, I think the community often gets too angry with what people do within the game as well. In other video someone use dirty tricks in diplo and do calculated snipe and people dont like it how far the dude made it to the top. They even ask for the player (funny enough also Grey color) to be banned from future community games, despite playing by the rules and the player action all tied to the objective of the game itself.

Feel free to show compassion, but not like Grey did in this video. Thats not winning through love. Its winning through pity and begging. Grey is far from being able to back their words, but only able to do so because of sympathy and relies on other players to "feel good" or at least avoid the scrutiny by people that dont differentiate between action within games and real world.
Its fair, but all im saying is that its lame because you dont try to push the limit and show any crazy tricks. Just merely promoting passiveness. You might as well play sim city.

Red and Green were the most resilient in this game. Red held against the 5-man team, while Green held against 4 other players from the same team after Red-Teal-Purple are down.
They weren't all attacking green though at that time, They were fighting amongst each other, he only got attacked by one at the time. Blue & Gray were still on Yellow mostly while Yellow scrambled to attack Green.
Red was definitely a hero, even topscore 1 hour later of going out of the game first... Cyan was also pretty resilient I think, he kept up for a while and even cleared and pushed back against Gray & Blue until Yellow came through the mid to overwhelm so Blue could push on with the 2nd Houfnice run... But all in all it was a great game anyway!
I get that the backstabs are interesting, but if you fight alongside someone and want to keep playing honorably, I don't see the problem with Allied Victory. Sure, don't do it out of the gate, but in game the pressure's on and not everyone wants to go into their next match being a known backstabber.
i feel like allied victory should be allowed for the lower elo players in any commie game, or equal strenght, so that its not the 6 best players just killing 2 and winning, but at least 2v1 or 3v1 worse players v viper

oh wow, i have not concluded the battle yet, 30 ish mins still to watch, Green just killed yellows king in self defense and his wonder stayed up!!!!!! "the game is still aliiiiiiive!"
So far i thought it was fairly interesting, it got a little stale for me when it became 5 on 3 and teal went down pretty fast leaving it 5 on 2, i figured red and purple would be defeated quickly which happened, purples sacrifice fell way too short lol, so that entire team of 3 was gone!
However, before Red was killed, he contributed towards redeeming the match imho. He created the first wonder which prompted others to do the same, we saw one from grey and yellow and eventually green, yes Red went down quickly but we now had a wonder race with 3 people and Grey was in front.
When Blue started white knighting Grey for a wonder victory i was a slightly deflated, the whole talk of allied victory feels like a damp rag on the strategies unless.....you are Green! Green removed Greys wonder before yellow suicided towards green, Thank you Lorhey! when you killed the wonder i yelled "NOW WE GOT A GAME!" and this power shift meant that blue and greys alliance would be appropriate now.
Part of me wants them to beat Green and then Grey bagstabs Blue, but Lady Grey isn't going to do that, she is far too honest and honourable.
So now i am forced to hope that Green can somehow clinch this wonder victory!

Summary: wow that was a good game, and Green did really well trying to bring his king into blues base towards the late late game, i would laugh at Grey losing her king in blues castle if i was good at the game lol, it was funny but i respect that keeping track of everything is tough and my brain would implode, however Grey leaking her plans to Green in the chat was just perfection lol, and Green still couldn't quite capitalize.

Can't say I'm a fan of people trying to get the lobby to toggle allied victory on when there's still 8 players alive. Game has barely been played at that point.
I can understand people liking it being an option for when two players have been allied through a long and grueling game rather than being obliged to turn on each other, but that wasn't the case here and even then, I find non-allied victory more interesting seeing if they'll turn on each other or if one will have integrity to grant their partner the win, damnsight more interesting than the alternative.

I hate when people bitch about time in an obvious game setup, 8 player diplo, that will for sure take a long time. T90 needs to ask people if they are ok with games being over a couple of hours and if they say no then they are out.

The golden pointy boi on top represents the Archangel Michael (or saint Michael, not Saint George) having beaten, indeed, the devil. And yes, you can still go see it. Hi T90 I use to play when I was younger and recently as I don’t have a computer I’ve go aofe on Xbox and I’m enjoying as much as I did when I was younger! If you ever done commie games on Xbox I’d be so down!
He's not against it but as Xbox players can't use mods or custom maps it sort of limits their inclusion, sadly.

Green and red were the true mvp's of this game. Yellow and light blue had good potential. Orange and purple had some good moments, but they were mostly just there. Grey and blue had many good moments, but that simping and letting grey almost win annoyed me. But I loved the final giga chad play by blue. You shouldn't be allowed to win simply for being a girl

Honestly t90s gambling story is pretty good. He was smart enough to stand by his original decision that he wasn't going to spend any more than 100 he brought with him. He had his ups and downs, and in the end got 6 plus hours of entertainment for a 100 bucks

What a crazy game. I think for future games, allied victory should be specified that it can only be for 2 players. I honestly wanted Grey and blue to win together. In the end, blue definitely did like 90% of the actual work to get them there but having to scum the end still feels bad
So you're okay with a wonder victory but not okay with Allied Victory? They're both the same, they're both shitty ways to win because someone is just too much of coward to blow up their king on someone and take a loss. These community games have been going down hill for a while.
on a glance wonder victory seems lame, but it actually to give wins for players that are up against the world. That way, people can be more confident in fighting others, if diplo fails, there is still a lonesome road to walk.
If no wonder victory, people will just try to not be on the bad side anyone, because fails in diplo guarantee loss.
Its also for games where two people are too far from each other to simply brawl it out fast enough. Having a wonder put some time limit to it, and they wont sit on their base too long wasting time stabilizing for each failed engagement for example.
