It will taste different. A roller dog tastes different than a pan fried one, or grilled one. They might steam the bun, or toast it. Campbell's broccoli cheese soup at long John silver's tastes completely different than Campbell's broccoli cheese soup you buy at the store. Both come condensed, you add water at LJS, you add water at home. Both are Campbell's broccoli cheese soup. Tastes completely different. To me taste is everything. It might be the"same" but it's not the same.
I've heard that Costco actually loses money on most of their hot food, but that's because they are there to encourage people to be in the store and therefore spending money on other things that they do make profit from
Power yes condiments I think he's going off a bare hot dog cost. But if he was yes failed comparison cause one is considered free where at home there's a cost.
I remember me and my coworkers would walk across the street to Costco every Friday to buy the hot dogs, blackberry sundae, and sometimes the huge pizza slices. It's been quite a while since I have been in a Costco, and those hotdogs look delicious!
While this is technically true, I can't say I agree with the "It doesn't even make sense to make your own" part because there's still a reason you would unless you literally live RIGHT next to a Costco.. If you think about it, there really isn't a significant loss in value when it comes to buying the Dogs/Buns to make at home.. You may lose out on the 20 oz. Drink for each one, but you gain the added benefit of it actually being accessible to you whenever you want it.. It's not like you can just teleport to a Costco food court whenever you feel like eating their Hotdogs.
Don’t forget condiments and onions, those cut into the 18 cent savings without the soda in play with free refills. Costco sells this at a loss every time but figure people will buy memberships and other things in store.
The onl6 thing that’s a benefit for making your own is you can cut a row of slits of each side of the hotdog, than put them in the oven, that improves it a lot but still, no soda.
This is why I always get a hot dog when I go to Costco. However, I think there still is some savings in the package when you consider that’s several trips to Costco which comes with its own expense. Also the options for sodas aren’t great so I’m willing to pay the 30 extra cents or so to get the drink I prefer. Good breakdown though.
I like the Costco hot dogs, I put green chile, bacon. Cheese, grilled onions, mustard, lettuce, and pickles on mine all chopped up the same size! It’s delicious and is a cheap way to jazz up these hot dogs!
Add in the price of gas going back and forth to Costco for each individual hot dog compared to staying home and making several? You saved a lot more than you think
Most people don’t drive to Costco for one hot dog. They’ll usually buy a hot dog before or after shopping there. So gas should not be taken into consideration. Tell me, should the electricity/water be taken into account for when you make the hot dog yourself?
If you consider that the hot dogs only consist of buns and sausage, maybe some sauce. No onions, fried onions, pickles, pickle relish or anything like that. That doesn't taste so great.
Most people have to drive to get there and with the price of gas nowadays it is actually cheaper to cook it at home. But if you're at Costco and you're hungry go for it it's a pretty good deal.

You also pay electricity costs to cook the hot dog
I've heard that Costco actually loses money on most of their hot food, but that's because they are there to encourage people to be in the store and therefore spending money on other things that they do make profit from
Yep they've been pubic that their food is a loss lead, they make more on other stuff and memberships
"Each weiner cost $1.07" I don't know why but it somehow got me wheezing.🤣🤣
When I was in middle school, I used to skip lunch and go to Costco to eat a hotdog🖤🖤🖤
Costco is a true homie
Respect 🫡
You forgot power to heat water for hotdog, power to warm bun, condiments too. Failed comparison.
Power yes condiments I think he's going off a bare hot dog cost. But if he was yes failed comparison cause one is considered free where at home there's a cost.
Include the price of the onions and ketchup too
That's a good point.
Ketchup on hot dogs?
I remember me and my coworkers would walk across the street to Costco every Friday to buy the hot dogs, blackberry sundae, and sometimes the huge pizza slices. It's been quite a while since I have been in a Costco, and those hotdogs look delicious!
Them beef ones, looks good quality and not those cheap ones.😊
Costco dogs have garlic mixed in them. So good.
Yeah. Turns out they actually lose money from this combo but they don't wanna change the price cuz it's so iconic
Who in the heck buys 15 dollar hot dogs?? 💀💀
Its a pack of 14 bro?
@@lachlantrescott5533 a dollar each tho??
@@DaddyM7MDit prolly taste bomb. I love glizzys I buy 20 packs and store it in my shorts.
They are 100% beef and the size of two standard kind with red dye and pork and sugar in the cheap mystery meat kind
@@gregmasters8558Yes, they're delicious. And they are bigger than your typical size grocery store hotdogs.
Gotta love getting 14 hotdogs and only 12 buns....That always grinds my gears
That’s where they get you
Each weiner 💀
If you somehow found a way to make the hotdog cheaper, the ceo of Costco will have a visit on you lol
What about mustard gas, electric, and the time you west to make 1 hotdog
Aaa you forgot about it
Don’t forget condiments and onions, those cut into the 18 cent savings without the soda in play with free refills. Costco sells this at a loss every time but figure people will buy memberships and other things in store.
Only nice is you’re craving a hot dog and don’t wanna leave the house. Costco is JUSTIFIED against itself lol
The onl6 thing that’s a benefit for making your own is you can cut a row of slits of each side of the hotdog, than put them in the oven, that improves it a lot but still, no soda.
I would still make it at home cause I can add way more ingredients to my hotdog!
The only L Cotco has is taking away the Supreme Pizza
I’ve never met a person who didn’t love costco, what an epic place 😂
I like the Costco hot dogs, I put green chile, bacon. Cheese, grilled onions, mustard, lettuce, and pickles on mine all chopped up the same size! It’s delicious and is a cheap way to jazz up these hot dogs!
Honestly it isn’t cheaper to cook it with that price, fact you have to use water and a cooktop to cook the hotdog, plus 10-15 mins to cook it.
Also factor in the cost of the optional toppings they provide
I’m going to refrain from the joke about the “Asian eating a hot…dog”😂😂😂
It makes sense to make you’re own, make it at home with the family in the patio priceless.
The cost of going to Costco every time I want a hot dog... Have you seen gas prices?
Bro ended the video with what we were all thinking at the start
Bro said Costco Dogs like it was a breed 🤣
Costco doesn’t fear inflation, inflation fears Costco
Costco's pizzas, dogs, and rotisserie chickens are the real MVPs
Costco a real one he a og fr fr
If you consider that the hot dogs only consist of buns and sausage, maybe some sauce. No onions, fried onions, pickles, pickle relish or anything like that. That doesn't taste so great.
Unlock the potential by grilling it!
Actual helpful information. I'm buying the dog & soda.
Most people have to drive to get there and with the price of gas nowadays it is actually cheaper to cook it at home. But if you're at Costco and you're hungry go for it it's a pretty good deal.
It'd say this is a strategic mouve to attract customers to the shop. Make minis to make plus. Publicity isn't cheep
You have to pay for gas to go to Costco, so instead of going to Costco just for a hotdog you can make them and it’s cheaper🖤🖤🖤
