Hey George thanks for a well thought out review. You manged the 2 things which bug me about XPAC - one the noise - it is like opening a crisp packet in a movie theatre - two the price is high - yes it is a cutting edge product and you have to question the value.
I got a used set for $68 without xpac. Came with all the pieces. Haven’t used it yet. But probably plan to use it as a gym bag. I like first order access a lot. And these bag doesn’t have it. So if you need to get to things quickly, this isn’t the bag. I also like all my access in essentially the same direction. I don’t like rotating the bag every which way to get at my things. People don’t talk about that much and I think it’s worth mentioning because it goes to the real use of the any bag. I also think it’s important to have pockets that are really useful sizes and places in easy to reach places. And this bag isn’t that. It’s more of a dump bag. Or a bag that you can lay down and open up once you get to your destination. It’s not a good travel bag where you want to be able to get at things and get in and out of it quickly and easily. I like bags with pockets at the top for wallet, keys, phone, headphones and other pocket items and some solid first access medium sized pockets for whatever... food, charger cables, iPad, mobile charger, etc. This bag is better for like a pair of shoes, a change of clothes, a towel, and just dumping items in the big bag area for in and out of the gym.
Great opening! Love Irene being there. I had the same issues with this bag - felt convoluted and using it was frustrating. Also when you have the field pouch in the bag, there’s almost no space for anything else - useless. Also not a fan of fold over tops/rolls ups. Hope you sent that one back. (Still waiting on the Vanquest skycap 45 review! It’s replace my airplane carryon)
Hi George, love your reviews. I picked up my Prima system at their outlet sale for under $100. At that price, it’s an excellent bag, however, I agree with you. They tried to make it too modular and fell short in many areas. I’m not sure if yours has the clips hidden on the side, but on mine, you can mount the camera cube to the outside. Looking forward to your other videos.
@@zorbyss I'd agree. I love the look, but it's the worst in terms of competing space that just makes it a pain to pack. It's also heavier and bigger than it needs to be.
This is a cool looking backpack, but honestly, that price point isn't going to cut it for me. I'm right there with your final thoughts on this pack, George. Thanks for the review!
Good video as always my dude. Boundary make some fantastic packs but this one is a miss for me. It doesn’t do the camera or edc thing real well to me. I think they should of picked one and did it well. I’d love to see you review their arc lite sling
I'm planning to use this backpack for my biking trips, is x-pac really waterproof as the website claims? I'd hate to spend that much money just to end with all my electronics soaking wet... Awesome video btw, thanks for the effort!
This is a kickstarter independent company and as with all of these companies it has the same shortcomings. Their first version of inovative product has a lot of mistakes that should be fixed in the next updated version. And the thing with Boundary is well that they just keep coming with new products but they don't update the old ones. So yeah.
Yoooo, that bag is so LOUD! I have the non xpac version. I didn't like my prima until I turned it into a dedicated get home/hiking pack. It lives in my car because it feels like something I'd want in an emergency Too poorly laid out for edc and too heavy for travel. But the harness system and the buckles are dope. That side access is great for access to gear pouches. I tried to love the field space, but it also fell short. It's organization just didn't really work for me. You nailed all the shortfalls of this pack! I'm surprised people are still giving Boundary attention after their recent production disasters and over priced products...
I think they appeal to the wannabe photographer/tech nomads. I have to say that although the Errant has the same issue with all Boundary Bags (everything competes for the same space), it was the best in use and for the price I could find. That said I don't like my Prima and it's way overpriced.
Great intro as always 🤣 but I'm never a fan of these center zipper bags and overall it seems to be a lot of work just to access the main compartment as you mentioned.
Really good video. I looked at their Arris pack, it looked superinteresting. But from what I gather, you can only get in XPac right now. And I am pretty sure it would drive me crazy long-term. Combined with Boundary's delivery, I decided to stay away. Also interesting: apart from XPac, you had the same thoughts about the quirks of the Prima. No liter independeny, fiddly in handling - maybe it is time for an overhaul of the Prima?
i think they are trying to keep the bag slim and sleek by making water bottle pocket, the little pocket near the wateer bottle and the top pocket small. would have been better if the videos are little shorter
Man, that bag sounds like a bowl of Rice Krispies. The pocket in front of the water bottle should be eliminated and use the zipper to make the bottle pocket expandable. I would hate to have to use that bag to go thru TSA, pure nightmare at the checkpoints. Innovative idea, poor execution. 349 balls is a lot for so many non-intuitive functions. Thanks for sharing. One.
Boundary Supply has the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I own this bag in black and it sucks at everything except looking cool. Nothing works well and nothing fits well. Access as mentioned in this video is a total pain and finally, the price is insane. Not worth the looks. **Important: The straps are sewed in too closely and causes it to pinch your neck and traps. Painful to wear for extended periods.

I was intrigued by the bag but watched the entire review to find out if Irene was alright!

Excellent review George. Poor Irene, I hope she is ok.💪🍷

Seems like Aldi throwing shit at you is a universal thing xD 😂
Interesting design. I like the latch system. It looks like its a good back to keep things safe.
You are great man, very informative and a pleasure to listen to.
Great review. Would love to see your take on the Errant Pro
You just earned a subscriber!
Irene Defined has got some moves 😄
Love X-Pac. Great review!
Hilarious intro!!
ALDI definitely fits that description! 😆 🤣 😂. Great video as usual, keeping it real. 👍
The bag looks good, but appears over-engineered and not too functional for daily use.
Honestly I had it for 2 years but don't quite like it. Difficult to access, difficult to organise and pack up.

Thanks for this review. Just what i needed to see to make a decision on it. Appreciate the work, ill sub.
Solid review, most helpful on UA-cam. 👍
Super useful reviews, thanks. No marketing crap, just user perspective. Would be great if you could work your review magic on the Wandrd Prvke!
Yep.. I would love to review that..
Another great video, keep them coming

good to know aldi is the same in the US as it is in the UK XD

You ever think about doing some reviews on specialty bags? Like rang bags, fishing bags, hunting bags, and so one
I do have a fishing pack coming up 🎣🎣 🐟

MOS Blackpack Grande might be a better option for a big guy like George.
Thanks for the suggestion

George, can you please review the new EDC chest rig by RecycledFirefighters?
The pocket caddy?
@@GeorgeDEFINED www.tactackle.com He calls it the “EDC Chest Pack.” It looks pretty cool. It’s the same guy who owns the recycledfirefighter company.
nice bag bro..i like it
