Why didn't I buy this sooner?
I've had a blackstone griddle for two summers so far. One of the best things I've ever spent money on. I bought all the just have items: spatulas, waterproof cover, warming rack, heat resistant glove. I never imagined why I needed this.
When it came to melting cheese or browning hash browns, I always squeezed water onto the griddle surface. Works well too because the steam melts the cheese and helps brown the potatoes a bit. However, it leaves this nuisance mess on the griddle plate. You have to get in there and scrape it off. The one issue I had was if the cheese was thick. You know some people want more than one slice of cheese on a burger. The steam just doesn't melt it fully
The dome does. Happy dance. It does it quicker and better and I don't have that same mess left afterward. I love this thing.
And even better! When it was shipped in a box too small for the dome, it came with a big dent in it. Quick push on the inside and it popped back Into place.
I'm going to be using this for everything going forward.
