We heard your pleas (and so did the customer) and the custom diamond encrusted (or crusty diamond) grill that we made last episode is no more! With the design made in metal and back on the Lincoln the customer agreed that it's not the look that we wanted for this 1965 Continental. So it's going in the trash as we start designing from scratch.
While we're working on the new grill design, we're not going to let the Continental sit untouched. We're going to be fabricating some long tube headers for this 7.3L swapped Lincoln. We ordered up a set of headers from Ultimate performance. Unfortunately though, even with headers made for Godzilla swaps, they didn't account for the fact that this Godzilla motor is in a 1965 Lincoln Continental; which means we're going to have to cut off all the primaries from their tacks and start from scratch making this manifold for our slammed and swapped Lincoln Continental!

congrats on owning up to the grill! Respect
Appreciate it!
I've said it before but I'll say it again - Is there anything Dave cannot do? That man is a top notch fabricator. It's a pleasure watching him work.
Can we also mention too that the man never seems stressed, even with the difficult jobs?
@@SalvagetoSavage I would need to be heavily medicated. 😂
a step in the right direction for ditching that grill design. And also what makes a continental so iconic is the double circular head lights which suits the car so well imo the rectangular headlights got to go. Great content as always!!
Thanks so much! And we'll keep that in mind with the redesign!
Great job on the headers..please convince the owner to throw away the headlights aswell.. awesome job 👏
We'll see about the headlights!
Awesome
Thank you!
Hopefully you did not valid the front grill !
Personnaly I would ditch the square headlight too, the face is so iconic, you just can't go with square lights, this does not work at all, whatever the grill design is.
The work on the headers is sick !! Masterpiece ! How long did it take ? It is hard to tell on video.
The headers took about 2 days or so to complete. Having the kit prefabbed from Ultimate made it a bit easier because we already had an idea of how everything could be routed, it was just going through and rearrange and shifting all the parts around a little. Having those bends and the shape already somewhat in mind made the process a bit quicker!
🤙👍
Great decision on the grill! Headers are a pain but you guys make it look easy and then turn it into art work...
Thank you so much!
Dave is welding exhaust while under the fenders. His talent is obviously unbelievable. Thanks for the quality. It's a pleasure to watch you Dave.
Side note. You're voice is also very laid back sounding as if you don't ever have any worries. You remind me of Bob Ross painting happy little trees
There are no welding mistakes, only happy little welding accidents! lol Thanks for all the support!
Unbelievable fabricator, an the patients of steel
Dave’s an artist / master fabricator. I wish I had half his skill / vision!
Not only is he talented, he's super humble about what he does. It's really awesome seeing him calmly knock out projects like this!
I can live with the bumper and fender mods but I hope the owner goes back to a stock looking grill and headlights
It's probably not going to be stock, but it's going to take keys from that stock grill
Very good call on the grill! Personally I thick the car looks better with four headlights. Out standing work on the headers! Keep up the great work.
The grill needs some type of exotic type of expanded metal. There is a company that deals with expanded metal for grills, I will try to find it and forward it to you.
That would be awesome. We would love to check out some of the options if we decide to head in that direction!
Dave is good, and I'm glad you guys are redoing the grille.
Just curious why you guys TIG weld everything especially simple sheet metal fab that you end up blending the edges anyway. I guess if you're not really crunched for time, it's great practice for when you do need to TIG something.
Love watching all your projects!
Good question! For us it's just about heat and control and what we feel comfortable doing!
Great job , David! Fabulous fabrication cutting and welding the headers and steering column mounts.
I thanks Mike for talking to the customer about his vision for the grille! Nice nod to Canada, Eh? I caught that.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all the guys and gals watching!
See ya next week!!
Gals? Bruh there's like maybe 1 haha
@@_Otaku-kt8be just to be inclusive .
Hopefully we got more than 1 girl watching! We'd love to see more chicks working and driving their own hotrods!
@@_Otaku-kt8be I know of four women watching. Maybe you just need to know the right ladies. 😉
I was just going to write a comment about the grill and ask if your guys were commissioned for the next Mad Max: Fury Road movie? 🙄 The first minute of the video I would give you a high five if I could. 🤣👍
We got you with a nice internet high five lol
Another sweet build! Glad you made the decision to change the grille. It was too Pimp My Ride and not S2S vibe.
We definitely agree with you there!
I love all you fabrication and the cars.
Have you thought about a steer-by-wire system for situations like theese to clear the headers or are they to expensive/not possible?
Greetings from Denmark
We haven't looked into a steer-by-wire set up. It's a good thought, but might be a bit too complicated trying to get the crownvic front end inside the continental to work with a SBW steering rack. Then also having to fit up the column with a steer by wire system. It's an awesome thought though and definitely worth looking more in to. Just not on this build!
I hate to put you on the spot, but you better give Dave a raise before someone steals him from you ( I have no relation to Dave, he just does amazing work and from what I can tell an amazing work ethic to go with)! Oh, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with for the grill.
That sounds like something that someone who has a relation to Dave would say! lol But in all seriousness Dave is absolutely killing it and we are very lucky to have him here!
Hi. I dont really know anything about much, but I thought headers needed to have all the pipes going into the collector as the same length. Am I wrong about that?
Love your content and wait for your videos every week all the way over in Australia.
Equal length headers is idea for performance, but the differences in length that we have here shouldn't be too detrimental to the overall power the engine will make. We really appreciate the support every week! It means a lot to us!
Grill was kind of odd looking. Watching the header modifications to fit a car with a non-traditional engine swap is artwork. Lots of time invested doing it right versus pounding the tubes or firewall to make it fit. Excellent skills by a talented fabricator doing it the first time the right way! Can't wait for the next video.
Thank you so much! We're glad you liked it!
I may be wrong, but at the maximum load of engine power, its softening cushions allow the engine to move by approximately 10 millimeters, and in such a situation, I see very small gaps between the exhaust pipe and the stationary parts of the car body
We double checked our clearances and we should be ok even with some extra flex and shifting from the engine mounts!
DIAMOND Dave. The do everything fabricator.
He is very much a jack of all trades. He knocks it out of the park every time!
You guys did really well filming that dave could barely get in there was very tight for a continental you wouldn't know it the way dave knocked it out the park though
Dave really came through making these headers!
I actually came to comment on how horrible that grill was. Good decision trashing that crap.
It's currently hanging on our wall of shame
Pfoeweeee, glad that awful front left the building…… Dave does a great job tho!
Thank you!
Thank the lord for that change, that grill idea was hideous .... fingers crossed on the new design. still love the project and thumbs up to the client for listening to reason. takes a big man to admit wrong.
We're still in the design process if you want to throw out some extra suggestions for the grill!
Great fab work but the grille definitely looked better on the ground than the car 😂
Fair enough!
Grill design is not very nice but craftsmanship is
Not every design will be on point when you're trying to break the mold, but we try to do our best regardless of what we're creating!
Incredibly detailed work! I’m blown away by the amount of work you are putting into this build. That said, is there a motor you would have preferred to do over the 7.3? Something that would have fit more easily and still performed? Just curious…(Just started the series and can’t wait to see the finished product.
👍🏼👍🏼
You guys should try a carbon fiber grill for the Lincoln. Made in house in a vac bag. The rest is up to you guys! lol
We did carbon fiber on those wide body C10 panels, and if we're going to go the carbon route, we'll probably call in the experts again!
I think its a great idea unique and super cool!@@SalvagetoSavage
Unbelievable fabricator, an the patience of steel
How he stays so calm, we'll never know!
At the end Dave looks a bit exhaust-ed. 😁😜🤟
The pun we needed this Wednesday! lol
💪👊👏
I love the way those headers turned out, much better without those green stripes on them! HaHa
Those were our headers' racing stripes! lol

Dave is a true sculptor, quite an artist. Congratulations on your work!
He's constantly killing it! We're blessed to have him here!
@@SalvagetoSavageAbsolutely! 👍
question can you not put a Y pipe piece on one and two on the top then a single piice going down until you get to the end then do a Y piece again. like bone look.
Removing the grill was great, wasn't a fan!
Think a blackout grill would be better
Any design or just black and sleek?
Black and sleek where you don’t see the headlights till they turn on
Looking good!
Thank you! Cheers!
King ranch leather interior
Brown leather or black?
Brown
The ads are a bit annoying
The exhaust turned out great!
