A similar thing happened with my old Trutech 7 inch portable DVD player. The LOW BATTERY message started flashing I plugged it in to charge not long after I smelt a strong smell of Electronic burning with a little smoke from the dvd drive. I got rid of that DVD player the same day and got a Audiovox same screen size to replace it was a lot more reliable still I will never get a Trutech portable DVD player again after that experience and never looked back
qwerty keyboard good be glad you didn’t I had a RCA 9 inch breakdown on me besides that no other portable DVD player I owned did that. It was most likely a defective part or battery that caused the bad electronic burn and puff of smoke. Only happened one time that’s it.
I just got a portable dvd player at Goodwill today. First portable dvd player I ever got from a Goodwill. It’s a silver 8 inch Mintex portable dvd player. Model number 1810 It was only $10 and they go for at least $30 on eBay so I scored big time it even had the original rechargeable battery and seems to operate no issues unfortunately it had no remote or charger but luckily I have a charger from my other dvd player that fit the mintex. I’m enjoying it this brand is no longer in business so I basically got a rare find for only $10 I’d say it’s a good day today
Picking up a silver Audiovox 9 inch portable DVD player from my local goodwill store plus a dvd of inside out a movie I haven’t seen yet and maybe a new DVD copy of a Toy Story 2 my old copy is worn out I enjoy going out to Goodwill you never know what your find
Right. Fast play is not fast at all I just select the main menu button on my INSIGNIA portable dvd player remote and I’m able to play the movie. It’s false advertising if I’m not mistaken plus it waste battery time on the DVD player you could have had just getting to the movie instead of watching multiple previews
So true my old SONY portable DVD player over 6 years at this point still turns on and holds some battery charge although it’s built in battery is reaching the end as it’s not lasting like it use to but it still works as it did. Maybe someday I’ll get a battery rebuild for it and restore it if not that’s ok it more then served it’s time I’ll miss it it’s hard to find reliable DVD players theses days
I remember one of these burning up which scared me as a child
