That is SO retro!! I REALLY like 👍 it!! I received one ☝️ of these 5 inch TV’s 📺 for Christmas 🎄 of 1983. I think 🤔 it was an Emerson. It also had an AM/FM radio 📻. It was also color. Just be VERY careful when serving the CRT (picture tube). Use an isolation transformer, to shield 🛡 yourself from the 25.000, or 45.000 volts that the CRT stores 🏬. I forget which it is, but it can be deadly, even when the set is unplugged 🔌. Your friend, Jeff.
VCR's and TV's made by Orion were sold here in the US under the Emerson brand name. I saw quite a few of the VCR's and an occasional TV. Some of their 25" (color) sets used the infamous Zenith A63ACT00X crt that shorted and caused a multitude of problems.
I can remember making a repair on this type of set where the AC mains did not function, but the 12V 3A power input did. For some reason a rectifier in a bridge configuration had a short, and was located directly above the CRT neck, but I rerouted its replacement away from the CRT. I don't know how long it lasted, but had no recall...
That c.r.t is in a great condition. it didn't take you long to get it working :-D. In the basic transistor monochrome sets, injecting the composite video just before the sound filter worked. A bit bodgy but good enough for my need at the time. That was a hell of a long time ago.
Orion must have made a lot of sets for other brands, i can remember seeing their labels on the components other sets as well as their own. These 5" TV's were very poular, and far better than the poor quality ones from Russia. Some suffered from poor storage in damp caravans / campers over the winter months, they kept me busy replacing the corroded compnents, capacitors were the most likely suspects. Today everyone seems to want TV's as big as their walls!
While the tube isn't the best 'res'.. it is way better than I imagined a 'Crown' to have in it. It looks good. I try to find older small security monitors (before 1990) , and some have really nice tubes and are built to last.. usually b&w only though.
I had a weird problem on a Ford E250 cargo van. The #3 coil pack would misfire intermittently and lose power to the AC electric clutch. I finally took it to a mechanic. He spent half a day trying to isolate the problem It turned out to be a broken signal wire on the plug that connects to the number 3 coil pack. The air conditioning is designed to shut off by the ECM if one of the cylinders fails to fire The mechanic originally thought it was a bad ECM but discovered the broken wire on the coil pack connector. It would have been difficult finding an ECM for a 2013 Ford E250 van. The wire broke due to vibration causing it to work intermittently on the coil pack
Good video Dave! I think there's a way to stop those annoying emails from you-know-who: enter your provider's webmail page and look for something called "rules" or "filters". You could create a rule/filter that when an email comes from "certain" address and contains "certain" words in the Subject or the Body of the message, the server automatically deletes it or moves it away from the Inbox, and it won't bother you on your cellphone. I know GMail has this feature, and I think Telus also has it. If you need help about what to put in the rule/filter, send me an email and I'll help you with it.
That brand Candle takes me way back and Citizen . Have a beautiful silver piano key cassette deck bye Candle works beautifully but will not record doesn’t seem to erase tape properly but oh well. I’d love to find a old Candle tv and their pop top vhs I used to play with at Kmart about 100 years ago 😂
What device are you using to retransmit on analog? Are they some kind of ATSC to NTSC converters? Hope I didn't miss it on an earlier video. I need to get something like that for multiple channels. Standard boxes are just 3 & 4.
I have done a video showing my distribution system you'll just have to search for it it was done a while back but yes I have multiple aps-c receiver boxes which output audio video and these are plugged into commercial head and modulators that the cable company ripped out and threw away. They can be set to any channel so I've got them set for channel 2 4 5 7 9 12 17 and UHF 27. Are all fed into cable splitters into the output port on cable splitters where the signals are combined then sent through an amplifier and to all the other outlets in the house. On top of that I have a antenna which I amplify and mix in as well so if I go to a TV that's got a digital tuner it will receive both the analog and digital signals off air. The stations I put on analog come off of a separate atsc antenna which is a different direction so I can't pick those channels up on my TVs on the digital channels because the antenna is facing the wrong way but they're just standard definition channels anyway so I watch them on the analog feed and they look fine. I also have media players playing content off of UA-cam and some of my own stuff that scanned on hard drive like the concerts that I can watch on any TV
I have a portable B&W television from mid 80s I wanted to composite mod with but I don’t think it’ll work. I bought SAMS manual online for schematic. There’s a single IC chip inside that takes the IF from tuner and output composite but also handles horizontal and vertical deflection, read the sync circuitry is built in. I could inject in the composite sort of in the same spot you showed but it probably won’t sync up and I probably have no way of back-feeding composite into this chip for it to handle sync.
I have a few different brands. Blonder Tongue, VCom,Wacom and QT. I have a channel 4 stereo modulator that radio Shack sold many moons ago. The Blonder Tougue is also MTS stereo.

I generally ignore him, but when other youtubers start telling me that he is posting my personal info on the net I get a little pissed. The police have a file on him, but unless he actually threatens me there is little they can do. I could sue him for harassment, but a lawyer told me that he would probably just claim bankruptcy so that the court and lawyer costs would fall on me, because they all want to get paid and if he has no assets that they can claim then they would come after me to reclaim costs. Crazy how the legal system works. That happened to me about 35 years ago. Guy blew a stop sign and I slammed into him. 100% his fault. He had NO insurance. I got a lawyer to sue him (american driving an uninsured car in Canada). My insurance covered the repair of my car but because they couldn't recover costs it counted against me as own damage. Was injured, tried to sue him, and he had no assets other than an 1969 f150 pickup that I hit. Claimed bankruptcy. Can't get money if someone doesn't have it. Lawyer was paid out of my under insured claim which barely covered my lost wages. 35 years later whiplash injury still flairs up from time to time. Legal system is a joke. I would have fared better if rather than swerving to miss hitting his door, had plowed right into him. He would have been dead, and I wouldn't have hired a lawyer to try to sue for damages. Therefore I wouldn't have had to pay court and legal costs. Crazy legal system we have. Oh, and get this the guy that ran the stop sign was legally drunk. He got some time in the can for it, but didn't have a license or insurance so he got off with a slap in the wrists. He got 1 year in the can, but was out in 3 months and deported back to the excited states.
@@12voltvids Even Here our legal system is Messed up as well, Many Criminals get off scott Free here as well, And My taxi was in an Accident A few Months ago, And i still get Medical bills for that, send them To Taxi company then Had to file The Claim On them, as i am being transported To Dialysis 3 times aweek, That Day the Driver was not paying attention to what he was doing, and we got T-Boned. I as well as others Treated for injuries , yet we Got the Bills and had to File with the Taxis insurance Before They even took care of things, Yet the Ambulance still Trying to Bill me and its not even My Fault, but Taxi that was Transporting Us. So its just as Bad here as It is there, That may be why The System is So What i Say Corrupt, our governments.

@@mrnmrn1 Old hardware is a pain ! My old box can't handle YT 1080 video & networking at the same time . New hardware is obsolete as soon as it gets home & it is expensive LOL . So it is 480p & 30fps with “UA-cam Auto HD + FPS” addon . Great for laptops that are not upgradeable …........
Send-check is demanding that UA-cam take this down or force me to remove the words send cheque. I accept checks for payment so send check is a good one to say when you want someone to send a check. The guy is unbelievable and he won't win because I have not exposed any of his personal information I just said two words send check get it.

Well unless you remove the hv cap on the tube the hv won't bite you. I have been bit. It hurts.

Both candle and citizen were brand names of Jutan international limited. (jil) and most products were made in Japan.

I did a composite mod to a BW TV a few years ago, video is on the channel. It was a single chip solution, worked perfect.
