I have and enjoyed it ta, I don't think the effects of the pandemic were kind to the UK holiday scene with basically shut down and the shortage of investment money due to lack of revenue, the Pontins saga is a different story though with funds just being drained away.
No one can ever accuse this channel of being boring....One week we're taken to a seven star hotel in Dubai and the next we're in a caravan on the English South Coast.....Love it!
Hi Tim, I'm an owner at Rockley, and I have answers to some of your questions... Almost all caravans that you rent through Haven are owned by various owners, not Haven, and they simply rent through Haven, yours was more than likely owned by someone. The caravans that are on the road are caravans that have been bought, and are simply waiting to be put on their pitches. The swimming pools maintenance are being finished off ready to be opened at the end of the month, they have got new tiles and refilled with fresh water. The buses run year round into Poole & Sandbanks, and between May & September there's a service into Poole, Alum Chine & Bournemouth. Hopefully that answers all your questions, anything else feel free to message!
Posted to Tim: Don't ask for a complimentary meal. You already have complained about the breakfast. You should have asked, nicely , as soon as you saw the train tracks, to move, especially with a young baby in tow. I think most good companies like Haven would have moved you free of charge , just for your comfort and the park was not overly busy ,was it ?
I don't think Tim realises how funny he is at times....he spends 3 mins on some beautiful shots of durdle door, takes you down to the beach, explains you should come and see it as it won't be here forever...then abruptly says 'by the way the car park was a fiver'... vintage Tim 🤣🤣
Been going have for 35 yrs off and on. My kids are grown adults now and I still go when I can. Devon cliffs. Primrose valley. Presthaven. Greatyarmouth. Blackpool. Love a caravan holiday.😀
I love the way that he said everything hasn't been used yet but when he checked the cheese grater and looked inside there was cheese still in there so I guess who ever stayed there before him didn't do a good job at cleaning 😂
Having worked at Haven doing caravan cleaning last year I would have been told to reclean this one, the glasses and everything are supposed to be dry. We have to clean the ovens and pots to make them look new
Tim, we came across your channel by chance & have been addicted ever since. ❤ We haven't had a working telly for a good few years, so we sold them all. We have just downscaled into our granny flat to rent out our house, so we bought a telly. Now, we have access to UA-cam. Every day, my 77 year old Husband asks, "Come on, let's see what Tim is up to?" Sometimes, I wonder what you would be better at, your travel & hotel reviews, or whether you lost your calling of being a comedian? 😂 We laugh in every single video of yours, but this one certainly takes the cake. You had me laughing so much that I became breathless. Little Casper was only a year old, but so cute, always FULL of smiles. It is always a BONUS seeing him in your videos. 💙 Our Rand is worthless against International Currencies, so thank you for giving us a tour of the world. Besides, my Husband is in poor health, so it would be impossible to travel anyway. We can't even leave the coast to visit family up country. Thank you for being such a Superstar & for making us laugh so much 😂 From South Africa 🇿🇦
I worked at Haven Primrose Valley while at college from 1990-1993. Work in various parts of the park - and also did some caravan cleaning. Were quite strict back then, had check list to follow and someone would go around after to check they had been cleaned properly. Each cleaner had to clean 6 caravans a day before check in.
It's great to see a review of Haven Rockley Park Holiday Park! As someone who is considering a holiday at a Haven park, your video is very helpful in providing insight into what to expect. It's reassuring to see that the facilities are clean and well-maintained, and that the activities and entertainment offered are enjoyable for all ages. Your honest review of the accommodation options is also appreciated, as it can be difficult to know what to expect from a caravan or lodge. Thank you for sharing your experience and helping others make an informed decision about their holiday plans!
I took my folks and daughter to a Haven last summer. We stayed in Weymouth at the Little sea park. It was absolutely fantastic, we all had a lovely time. My daughter is absolutely desperate to go back (sadly couldn't get this year). Everything was really clean, the onsite pool was fab. If you get the weather (we were really lucky with it) you can't really beat it. Oh and we stayed in the bronze caravan. It's the same size and very similar layout to the silver, just without the patio.
The year Princess Diana died (happened whilst we were there which is how I remember) we stayed at Haven after I saw adverts and begged my parents to go so got taken for my birthday. The park was horrendous, so dirty, run down and things broken. I cut my toes and needed stitches on a broken pool vent and the food was so awful we got a refund and never tried again. My parents were so angry they complained, we left after 2 days and got a full refund. Nice to see they have massively improved and upped their game!
Great video Tim and Gaby, I guessed £250 so I was pretty close, but you should have had a discount because of the balcony. I thought it wasn't bad at all, the caravan was really nice and the whole place looked to be generally well looked after, better than Pontins anyway! Not a bad place to go for a cheap change of scenery if you get good weather. Thank you for taking us to Durdle Door, what a beautiful place 😍
Haven can be good if you follow a few rules. 1 Never book during school holidays, it will be more expensive, full of screaming kids and all activities will be fully sold out before you get there. 2. Don't eat there, you will easily find a pub nearby with better and cheaper food. 3. If you go to Marton Mere don't use the bus that stops in the site. It will be full of chavs stinking of smoke and still pissed from the night before. 4. Accept that you will overpay for everything you do. If you want to go to Blackpool you should know Marton Mere is a twenty minute drive from the beach and parking is a nightmare. Carla Gran is a better option, it is in Fleetwood but you can get a bus or tram to the seafront to avoid the hell of finding a parking space.
There is something incredibly wholesome about your content - such that I've watched a whole bunch of your videos back to back. My "summer holiday" for the last 20 years has involved going to heavy metal music festivals, consuming way to much alcohol over a weekend, having a grand ol' time but retrospectively wondering what that money could have been spent on. Maybe next year I'll take the time to go to a holiday park.
Seeing this video takes me right back to my childhood, where my mum would take me and my 2 older sisters away for a caravan holiday a couple times a year. We used to have the best time ever, so many memories. And she told me that it was the Sun Holidays for £9.50 that made these trips all possible. I’m so looking forward to the time where I will be able to bring my future family to caravan parks for weekends away, so they can enjoy the same things I did in my childhood and to have memories to last a life time. Thank you for making this video, it’s makes it so nostalgic ❤
Very interesting to see how caravans have certainly changed since I last stayed in one, which admittedly was about 60 years ago! The cost seemed reasonable but, of course, food has to be added to that. Thumps is the best entertainment! I commented in Gaby's vlog that I liked the BTS of you filming your intro!
The food at any caravan park we've ever stayed at has been universally terrible, we've always made use of the caravan kitchen and found the nearest shops to get groceries to do our own meals for most of the holiday, and then eat out at nice local places
I'm never that keen on having meals in them on-site family restaurants. I just can't trust them much, since I caught food poisoning from one. I can always make my own meals in the caravans, so it's not like I need much help with cooking.
What a great video, Tim! I can't say I've ever been to a Haven, but was taken aback by how pristine it was. It captivates a very welcoming and positive image for families. Cheers, Tim & Gaby. 👍
Hi Tim, I work for Haven Thorpe Park in Lincolnshire! I recommend coming to this site in September time and giving it a try out. The park is massive and we have had millions invested into the park. We have a new adventure village with over 10 different activities to choose from, new outdoor stage, New Slim chickens, New Burger King and New Papa Johns we are also getting Havens Largest Marina Stage and Bar opening late June 2023. We also have the other thing haven has such as 2 onsite shops, pool, outdoor water park, Cooks Chippy and a bar and restaurant! It is set to be havens flagship park in the near future!
You did not tell him about the railway line (which should not have a caravan anywhere near it)), you did not tell him about the damaged lock. Come to Haven?? You are joking surely?
Hi Tim it's probably going to be long but please read it, I'm 59 now and i remember my mum and dad taking me and my 3 older brother's, the Boomtown Rats I Don't Like Mondays was at number 1 in the charts and it was constantly playing, we had another couple of holidays there and we had great times, me and my ex-wife went there twice a year until we where around 24 and then spent most of the years at Osmington Mills holiday camp, the sea at Rockley Park was disgusting back then and yes the railway was a pain but it only runs one way by the army Barracks, a great review as always 🍻
Great video Tim. Way back through the 70s to mid 80s we would go to Pontins in Camber sands every year for one week. I remember Mum would spend the first couple of hours cleaning every item in the kitchen of the chalet we were staying in, she didn't trust them to be clean enough to use before she had given everything a good scrub 😂 You do know that now everyone will be leaving it until the last minute to get their takeaways on the holidays parks in the hope of getting some freebies 😉
To be honest you can go on to your booking about a month before arrival you can pick your caravan location and even upgrade your level of caravan (for a small upgrade fee). Its always worth looking where your caravan is located before arrival and if you weren't happy with the train tracks being so close you could of changed location before even arriving at the park. its always best to do your research when staying at any haven park. I've used that facility numerous times. Bingo was made earlier because of numerous complaints at loads of their sites stating it started far too late when other parents unlike yourself wanted to get their kids in bed and not make them stay up to 6.30/7.00 pm to play bingo. I agree it's ridiculous and I have suggested they do 2 sessions. 1 early session for the complainers and the normal time session for the people who are still out enjoying the day.
I would say the caravan you were both staying at, was quite sub-standard. Back when I was a child, static caravans didn't exist. I reckon, though that these kinds of caravans would make good alternative forever homes. Well, the bigger one's I mean. I really enjoyed you showing us around it. Very fascinating. 🙂
Yes Fish and Chips are a must at the sea side. A great video with lots of good information as usual Tim. Love it when Gabby and Thumper are with you. Better experience than the other caravan holiday you had with the bed bugs !
Another fun place to stay. The placement of your mobile home wasn't the best and the train noise but it was still a fun place to vacation. But that does make for a memorable vacation. They had everything you needed at the park. What you paid was a decent price. Love seeing your wife and baby on your videos.
I agree Tim..chippy tea' in a Caravan..we do that at Barmouth..but...no knives n forks..eat out of the paper.( ok a fork for the peas) and dunking chips in gravy..nom nom..great stream ty🎉❤
Ah yes, the Beach Pram Drag - parents know it well 😅 Thank you for this, we're going on a Haven holiday next month so it gives us some idea of what to expect. Gabby is brilliant too, made me chuckle at the end.
Seemed like great value and clean. We stayed in a very similar van in Talacre North Wales over 10 years ago with our youngsters in a premium caravan. That was great value and very clean. I do remember the fish and chips were very good, they know what works. Your son looked very happy, these breaks are great for kids. What a lovely part of the world and you were blessed with good weather. The beauty of having the car with you is you can get out and explore/ eat if you've had enough of the park.
My hubby and I go on about about 6 Haven holidays a year and we love them. We only stay in a Bronze caravan as we like to bring our dog with us. Off to Rockley Park in June, I think we will pay the extra to choose not to have our caravan near railway track.
What a great price! Multiply that by five for the school holidays :-) Another extra Haven seem to have introduced in the last few years is the option to choose your own caravan spot, I've seen that priced at £30 and I've also seen that priced at £250!! Just to choose your caravan! Which therefore I guess for those who choose not to pay increases the chances of you getting a caravan in less appealing places -like next to a railway line!
Absolutely love your videos Tim. You’ve got the most enjoyable channel to sit and watch on UA-cam. You’re both brilliant parents to your little one. Long live Tim and his videos!!!! Never stop posting hotel, holiday trips, holiday park, theme park, water park videos. They’re amazing and great watches!
Haven was all we could ever afford when I was a kid and I have some amazing memories. The parks are always clean, packed with activities and great entertainment, all for a very affordable price. I can't wait to have kids and take them to Haven.
Really enjoyed this one Tim. As a caravan owner in Lincolnshire, it’s interesting to see what other parks offer, and what beautiful scenery is available around the UK👍😊
It’s a shame they changed the seaside squad. I used to be able to sneak a few beers while my children watched the old characters including Bradley, Greedy, DJ Ned and Polly but they have no interest in the updated squad. Mind you, it’s done my liver the world of good 😂. Great video as always.
We have stayed at this park many times due to its location , the area has some of some of the most stunning coastline and beautiful countryside in the UK. This year we have gone abroad but have still booked for the end of the summer. Also been located once next to the railway line but we found after the first day were able to tune out the noise. Rockley is one of Havens best parks , tho we have had issues with dog friendly caravans which have not been cleaned as well as they should have including a urine soaked settee... not nice after along journey !!
Literally going to be staying at a Haven holiday park in about 3 weeks with my family and we're all extremely excited so this is absolutely perfect timing Tim! Can't wait to watch and see what you guys think 😁💜
@@WalkWithMeTim I was 25 in January been going to haven since I was 1 Or 2 but obviously caravans are alot better now we had one with a washing machine and dishwasher in back in 2021
I hope it's not Thorpe park - We have a seafront lodge and it had dishwasher and a bath bath had no plug so could not use - sink was jammed so could not use -dishwasher kept leaking water. We reported it but no one came - apart from to tell us what they were going to fix when we left. Mix that with the fact half of the place was shut/being refurbed we Will never return
We have stayed on Haven sites on the East coast a few times - they are usually nice with lots of activities, we tried Cooks fish and chips once and only once, they are much better from a chippy in the seaside town - in fact our favourite is the onsite Papa Johns and the Haven app is a must - once in the live lounge order it all from the app and you don't have to move all night - you can't beat Pizza and alcohol being brought straight to your table😁 - hope you have a great time!
Absolutely love haven parks, always book the lodge at either Seton sands or Haggerston Castle the lodges come with a dishwasher and a washing machine. The Haven sites I've been to the bingo is always at about 7pm. Certain holidays at haven you can also goto the option of choose your holiday home it costs extra but means you can choose on the park where you would like to stop depending on availability at the time. The food at haven can be a hit or a miss at the Mash and Barrel and at the Cooks chip shop.
We stayed in the same area of that site by the train tracks. In a dog friendly caravan….dog almost had a heart attack when first train went past 😂 found Newperran holiday park by Newquay part of Away Resorts. Much nicer than Haven. Found Rockley Park too rammed in with caravans. Felt claustrophobic. Great video
Absolutely loved Dorset i love the countryside just as much as the seaside & Dorset seems to have it all & the Train running past the beach was really lovely to see. Out of all the Holiday Parks ive seen on Walk with me Tim so far this is probably one of my favourite places, Dorset.
Great video, thank you! When I stayed a few years ago, I had paid for a 12ft wide caravan, but noticed it was only a 10ft. Not a big deal, but I complained at reception and they gave me a £25 voucher to spend on site (in shops and resraurants), so we got a free meal and groceries! :)
Love a good Haven trip, we are off to Haggerston Castle in Northumberland in July for a week. The caravan you and Gaby stopped in was lovely just a shame about the patio doors and the trains (hope you got that partial refund) . Must say that breakfast had seen better days lol, hope you didn't pay too much for it. Pleased you gave us a tour of Durdle Door, absolutely breathtaking and well worth the 10 minute trip downhill to get there. Fabulous video Tim and Gaby.
Great video. Went to Rockley Sands few years ago, absolutely love it. Don't really agree with your issues about caravan location and balcony. You do have the option of choosing your caravan pitch before you go. You should have complained about train noise and balcony straight away and got an alternative caravan.
Tim, can you try out Seal Bay Resort in W.Sussex. (formerly Bunn leisure) they've recently had a revamp and spent a fair bit on the resort. Huge Holiday park with 3 parks in 1.
Never expected to see anywhere in Poole featured on here. Rockley Park is where I remember spending one last day out with my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins before my family moved (quite literally) to the other end of the country, to Shetland a couple of days later. It's been a long time since I've been back home and this really does make me want to visit again.
I went to Haven in Hastings last year in June. It was refurbed just before COVID and had not seen much use; seemed brand new. Probably as nicely refurbed as yours (but mine was just a bronze so not all features). Was very clean, spacious. Went with a dog too. Odd you got no loo roll. I think we only had one thin loo roll so ended up bringing more.. I ended up winning the bingo one night that paid for the holiday haha. Thought it was quite nice. I last went to Haven as a kid myself. The childrens entertainment was good and other entertainment wasn't too bad for adults either. A short drive from supermarkets and Hastings sea front. Only downside was that it was built on a huge hill and the facilities seemed to be at the top and caravans are same level or lower from it. So, middle of June pushing a pushchair up hill meant I was very much looking forward to a cold pint when I got to the bar!
Great video Tim. I had lovely Haven holidays years ago. Exmouth in Devon was lovely Haven did the Sun newspaper holidays years ago. They were great value.
How can you complain about having the most exclusive balcony on the camp? I have visited a few Haven camps and have always enjoyed my stays. Great for kids up to their early teens. Great Vlog as always Tim.
Hiya Tim,nice holiday park, caravan very clean and lovely looks new, small beach near the park, like the other beaches you drove too, fish and chips taste the best by seaside, didn't think Gaby breakfast wasn't good especially the bacon, great for family's holidays, and beautiful views, hope you all had a great time and thumbs is super cute .
Absolutely love your videos Tim especially when you do the UK visits, we went here when my son was born 5 years ago and loved it. I would highly recommend you jump on the ferry to the Isle of Wight, we are booked to stay in WhiteCliff Bay (Away resorts) this year which looks amazing especially the style of accommodation they offer, also worth checking out garlic farm (if you like garlic) the 2 theme parks are fantastic and Colwell bay. I love the the island because of the many ways to stay from caravans, glamping, chalets even boats. Look forward to your next video.
I have been WAITING for this. Stayed in one last week, had a few issues, (bits of dried food, and some rubbish under the couch), as a saver, but it was absolutely brilliant. Nice site as well, but a bit far away from Blackpool to travel publically.
We've done Parkdean for years, but decided to give Haven a go last year and went fleetwood. Considering we had a saver due to having a dog, I was surprised how nice even their cheapest caravans were! We're doing Marton Mare in August because it seems to offer more so we're sort of comparing atm! I find Haven have way better arcades!
I'm going Marton Mere next week looking forward to it.I walk so it's a great base to walk into Blackpool.I walked from Bloomfield Rd in January to checkout the Reserve walked through the Park.Walked back onto Preston New Rd back into Blackpool.Looks a lovely Park.
I too share your enthusiasm for fish and chips! We just stayed in Cromer for 4 days and managed to have fish and chips on two of those four days. But we live in Austria so I had developed a bit of a craving. We also used our trip to replenish our Marmite supplies. By the way, we stayed at The Red Lion and we loved it. Room 14 has a sea view to die for.
Great review!love you and gabby! Again polo shirt makes you look great ,fit and buff .Gaby always beautiful!looks like something fun to do ! Thanks for sharing! Your devoted fan from America
Lurrrve haven hols! I'm 55 and been doing them for 20 years plus via sun 950 hols, sad they aren't included anymore, but if you can get a good price out of season direct from them, the holiday is what you make it! We look forward to taking our grandkids in a few years!
Lovely to see Casper walking, you’ll have to do a live walk with him with reigns/ backpack reign thing, one of you with Casper in hand, the other with the pram as back up for tired legs 😂
a very well put video review at a haven holiday park! really enjoyed this tim and gabby! this is making me very excited for my caravan holiday in wales, abergele! enjoy tim and gabby !! x
A great review. We used to holiday at Rockley Park (was called Rockley Sands) as a child back in the late 60's and 70s, when your toilet and showers were in shower blocks not in your caravan. You didn't have drainage, the water from the kitchen sink went into a bucket under the caravan that you had to empty. You also had to fill up large water containers as there weren't taps either. We used to go to the clubhouse every night for the entertainment which we thought was great. The site has changed enormously from those days but we have been back quite a few times over the years and always enjoyed it. We've also stayed at quite a few Haven sites which have all been good. I feel like we've been on holiday if we stay in a caravan 😀
I too remember holidays at Rockley Sands as a kid, lots of good memories. They used to hire out these pedal cars, they where such fun, I also remember having days at a nearby beach that had really high sand dunes to play in. Its nice to see the park is still going and looking well maintained.
That holiday home looks very new, I'm impressed as I'm not a static caravan type person. Suppose if you had the choice would it be a brand new holiday home beside the railway or an old tired knackered holiday home not beside the railway tracks. I'd take the plot beside the tracks every time! Excellent review as always.
Haven are probably the cheapest chain holiday park company out of season, we went Yorkshire last year for 2 weeks for less than £500 for 4 of us adults in June. but once you hit school holidays their prices sky rocket ridiculously. EDIT: Oh, you stayed at Rockley, that's just down the road from the Lidl I work at.
The cheaper the better. I wouldn't bother paying more than £500, for a holiday. I definitely wait til kids have gone back to school, before going on holiday. No offence. Just that it's quieter for me without too many crowds, and hustle and bustle. Nothing worse than it being over-crowded and people constantly barging into everyone else. 😄
@@sarahlund-nt3kw Best time if you want Sun, hot weather, a little quieter and best price I'd say is mid-June. Also look in advance, earlier you book usually better the price.
Another great video, thanks Tim. I suggest Chedder Woods Spa, treat gabby to this great place, I strongly recommend to get a hot tub and the amenities are great.
Love watching your vids Tim! Just done a haven holiday and the bingo was way too early! Cost us £69 for Monday to Friday! Going to Bournemouth for 4 days next month and seeing durdle door too 😁
What a beautiful video You are all so very happy. Uplifting and so good to see. The video and the fantastic way you have put it together is inspirational in itself. Well done all of you and Jade-Marie for this masterpiece, brilliant
We live right by rockley and it's a great park, before we moved to Poole we had a caravan in rockley they're really helpful at rockley and they'd definitely allow you to move to another van away from the railway line and will help you move, they did exactly that for us before the park is nowhere near full this time of year
Hi Tim and Gaby. You brought back childhood memories of staying there when I was a kid and my sister was like Casper as there is a 12 year ahe gag. Thank you for sharing it with us. It has changed quite alot though.
Came back from a short stay at Haven Thornwick bay last week, used to use Haven all the time when my kids were young, I have to say it was exceptional. Beautiful place but used it more as a base and the caravan was the same standard (I think) as the one on your pic. It was a fantastic caravan.
@@WalkWithMeTim So yours was a silver caravan as well, mine was far better than yours (but i did pay more -£310 no passes and I think we went the same week mon to fri) we got 2, 2 seater sofas, full dining table and chairs, dishwasher and washerdryer --king size bed with a door either side which led to on suite bathroom with a full sized bath and the other door, a walk in wardrobe. It was like a palace cravavan. Our french doors opened and the view was stunning, the settees were so uncomfortable as was the bed, even tho it was a Hypnos mattress. BUT that said, it was a lovely stay.
Done 2 or 3 Haven holidays since Covid. Family loved them all. No complaints from me. Other than breakfast the one you are at looks really nice. Fish n chips is the law on a holiday, or any seaside outing.
We just stayed in a caravan exactly like this at haven , we paid £59 for 4 nights it was suppose to be a saver caravan which is the basic you can imagine how we felt when we saw the upgrade we had dishwasher and everything and even had a sea view ❤
Only down side to this channel is Prices arent for anyone who has school age children has to go in schools close Prices go through the roof 7days =£1000 plus for 4 guests self catering then travel plus food extra for passes and other activities..?? 😮 No not a Karen 😊just being honest
You are right down the bottom end . Pay more and stay nearer centre. I go every year and love the fact it's dog friendly. I don't use the entertainment as no kids anymore
"we can be the first to use the cheese grater, I don't think anyone's used that" *immediately shows previous person's grated cheese stuck in the grater " 😂
Great review, Tim and Gaby. Reminded me of when I stayed in a bungalow as a kid with a heritage steam railway going past the garden! The caravan was really nice though, despite the couple of issues, and seemed really good value for four nights! And that view from the cliff, overlooking the bay, was stunning!
I would have loved this as a kid and would hate it now 😂 The caravan holiday culture is so interesting to me though, in the U.S. we don't really have this sort of thing. The closest thing would be resorts I suppose, but those are inaccessible to many financially. It's so cool that caravans offer such an affordable getaway for families.
i wish we americans had such a thing, would be a great way for families on vacay. I doubt there will be such a thing as this because the land is so valuable anywhere that's nice that no developer would bother with it. So now, only affluent/ rich people can stay in most of the upscale beach areas in the hotels. The middle class is losing places to really have a great beach side holiday.
I think that was great value. I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely it was. Be nice in June when the weather is warm but still out of school holidays.Yes I definitely would have asked for a partial refund on the train and veranda issues. But yes it looked lovely
Me and my partner stayed here just a few weeks after you did. Loved our stay. There is a secret beach just a small walk away through the woodland path by the entrance 🙂
We had a silver one last march, then a gold in October and next month we are getting gold again. Absolutely lush caravans, this video is getting me excited for my holiday. Also, we had issues with the sliding doors too at first 😂
Great review. I've not been on caravan holiday. Your stay has given me a good insight on what to expect. Thought it was unfair Haven didn't offer some compensation busy/noisy train & importanly paying caravan with balcony but cannot have access because door/lock is faulty.
Hi Tim, went to Haven Seashore with my kids and was impressed with the activities on offer for kids. I think you'd appreciate Haven more when Casper is a couple of years older.
As a child I thought all holidays were in static caravans. Just a field of caravans and a walk to the beach if you were lucky. No entertainment or fish and chips. A drive to a town to have a knickerbocker glory would be the hilight of the week! Lucky to have had holidays I know. We took our kids to a Haven (long time ago, somewhere in Wales) and had a budget caravan because we took the dog. Arrived late on the Friday and realised there was no toilet paper in the caravan. Went to reception. Sorry, no toilet paper included with budget caravans you have to supply your own. But the shop is shut and we are miles from anywhere. Sorry, company policy. Had to stuff my pockets full of toilet paper from the toilets in the bar. Have been to a couple since in our campervan (Haven sites usually have a small area set aside for tourers) and they are okay but completely dead after 5pm apart from food and booze. No swimming pool or go karts however lovely the evening. My favourite British seaside town is probably North Berwick in Scotland. Some visits to Northumbria and Scotland on the channel one day would be nice. Thanks for taking us around Haven, enjoyed that.
@ProudOfYourRoots just my memory of the place, particularly on the day you arrive as by the time you are set up there’s nothing you can go and do other than go look at the things that are shut for the day. Might not even be true anymore, I don’t think I’d go to a Haven now as my sons are grown up so it’s a bit academic from my perspective.
What a lovely place , nice to have some sunshine. I do love those large caravans in holiday parks . The price is also reasonable but i guess it goes up during the school holidays.

😮😮 WE WERE SHOCKED 😮😮You missed the cheese in the top of the grater Tim 😂😂😂 Always enjoy your videos 😊🤗
Try not getting an caravan next to an train track next time

Thumps as grown up and a brilliant boy he is and happy with the caravan stay safe all 3 of you. Take care of yourselfs
You should have got a discount off your holiday
No one can ever accuse this channel of being boring....One week we're taken to a seven star hotel in Dubai and the next we're in a caravan on the English South Coast.....Love it!
I want to go back to Dubai. 😂
It’s great isn’t it? Only discovered this channel a month ago and now it’s my favourite, so much variety!

Love the effort Tim makes into visual presentation.

Thanks

Don't ask for a complimentary meal.
Lol
Been going have for 35 yrs off and on. My kids are grown adults now and I still go when I can. Devon cliffs. Primrose valley. Presthaven. Greatyarmouth. Blackpool. Love a caravan holiday.😀
I went to Primrose Valley a few times when I was a child with my family! It was such a lovely place, we loved caravan holidays 😍
Is Rory the tiger still around and Anxious the Elephant?
@@freddieleethompson3536 it’s now Annie the elephant, they rebranded this year , better names to be fair
@@ol1ver89 My kids used to love Haven in the 90s.
Love a Caravan Break first went in one September 1979!
next week Marton Mere super excited!
We have to clean the ovens and pots to make them look new
What’s there to do for adults at haven ?😂
Watching Tim gradually getting more and more irritated by the trains as the video goes on is quite funny 😂
Tim, we came across your channel by chance & have been addicted ever since. ❤ We haven't had a working telly for a good few years, so we sold them all. We have just downscaled into our granny flat to rent out our house, so we bought a telly. Now, we have access to UA-cam. Every day, my 77 year old Husband asks, "Come on, let's see what Tim is up to?"
Sometimes, I wonder what you would be better at, your travel & hotel reviews, or whether you lost your calling of being a comedian? 😂
We laugh in every single video of yours, but this one certainly takes the cake. You had me laughing so much that I became breathless.
Little Casper was only a year old, but so cute, always FULL of smiles.
It is always a BONUS seeing him in your videos. 💙
Our Rand is worthless against International Currencies, so thank you for giving us a tour of the world. Besides, my Husband is in poor health, so it would be impossible to travel anyway. We can't even leave the coast to visit family up country.
Thank you for being such a Superstar & for making us laugh so much 😂

I worked at Haven Primrose Valley while at college from 1990-1993. Work in various parts of the park - and also did some caravan cleaning. Were quite strict back then, had check list to follow and someone would go around after to check they had been cleaned properly. Each cleaner had to clean 6 caravans a day before check in.
I grew up near Primrose valley and we went to the swimming pool
It's great to see a review of Haven Rockley Park Holiday Park! As someone who is considering a holiday at a Haven park, your video is very helpful in providing insight into what to expect. It's reassuring to see that the facilities are clean and well-maintained, and that the activities and entertainment offered are enjoyable for all ages. Your honest review of the accommodation options is also appreciated, as it can be difficult to know what to expect from a caravan or lodge. Thank you for sharing your experience and helping others make an informed decision about their holiday plans!
glad we could help
Yes school holidays can be pricey and park prices are very high
@proudofyourroots9575 I just use the caravan as a cheap alternative to a hotel at the beginning and end of season
Appreciate that.. thanks
We will be doing a sun holiday 😎 soon
@@WalkWithMeTim i look forward to seeing it!
I did that just for gabys channel 😉
For the price and length of time there, this looked reasonable. It’s great that you do the hard work for everyone to make a decision if it got them 😊
The food at any caravan park we've ever stayed at has been universally terrible, we've always made use of the caravan kitchen and found the nearest shops to get groceries to do our own meals for most of the holiday, and then eat out at nice local places
We got lucky maybe lol
I've been to Thorpe park a few times and it's great.
Im coming to the park 1st week on july with the kids . Looking forward to it
You did not tell him about the railway line (which should not have a caravan anywhere near it)), you did not tell him about the damaged lock.
Come to Haven?? You are joking surely?
I don’t know why Tim but your videos are so cosy and chill. They make for such comfort watching!
Thanks Samantha
Hi Tim it's probably going to be long but please read it, I'm 59 now and i remember my mum and dad taking me and my 3 older brother's, the Boomtown Rats I Don't Like Mondays was at number 1 in the charts and it was constantly playing, we had another couple of holidays there and we had great times, me and my ex-wife went there twice a year until we where around 24 and then spent most of the years at Osmington Mills holiday camp, the sea at Rockley Park was disgusting back then and yes the railway was a pain but it only runs one way by the army Barracks, a great review as always 🍻
I am now addicted to this channel and binge watching all of Tim's videos over the last year one by one. The videos are so diverse and so entertaining.
You are welcome
I got engaged at Durdle Door last week. Beautiful part of the country
agree
Multiply that by five for the school holidays :-)
Another extra Haven seem to have introduced in the last few years is the option to choose your own caravan spot, I've seen that priced at £30 and I've also seen that priced at £250!!
Awww thanks harry
Used to love Haven holidays as a kid! What a blast from the past this is! ❤
Wonderful video Tim. This is a beautiful place to stay in. Hope you enjoyed your stay with Gaby and Casper. 👏🏻
Haven was all we could ever afford when I was a kid and I have some amazing memories. The parks are always clean, packed with activities and great entertainment, all for a very affordable price. I can't wait to have kids and take them to Haven.
same here
Really enjoyed this one Tim.
Staying in Haven Quay West in September. There's usually an option to pay extra and you could've chosen your caravan and where it was located 🙂
It looks lovely there Gaby and Tim. Hope you have a lovely time sweeties ❤. Sorry that your right against a train track. ❤.
Hope you have a great time!
It's my fav part of the world
@@WalkWithMeTim I don't blame you Tim!
It so beautiful & peaceful 😍
Great video, thank you! When I stayed a few years ago, I had paid for a 12ft wide caravan, but noticed it was only a 10ft. Not a big deal, but I complained at reception and they gave me a £25 voucher to spend on site (in shops and resraurants), so we got a free meal and groceries! :)
Thanks
Unity Farm in Brean is well worth a visit. Especially if the 'Caravan holiday' is to become a new series 😊
Definitely
Great video. Went to Rockley Sands few years ago, absolutely love it. Don't really agree with your issues about caravan location and balcony. You do have the option of choosing your caravan pitch before you go. You should have complained about train noise and balcony straight away and got an alternative caravan.
Saw Gaby's vlog too. Thanks for the vlogs to both of you. Looks a lovely park and area x
Tim, can you try out Seal Bay Resort in W.Sussex. (formerly Bunn leisure) they've recently had a revamp and spent a fair bit on the resort.
Huge Holiday park with 3 parks in 1.
I've heard of them
Never expected to see anywhere in Poole featured on here. Rockley Park is where I remember spending one last day out with my grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins before my family moved (quite literally) to the other end of the country, to Shetland a couple of days later.
It's been a long time since I've been back home and this really does make me want to visit again.
Thanks for your video, I'd never have known about rudds beer garden with the awesome view 😀
Thanks Jennifer
How can you complain about having the most exclusive balcony on the camp? I have visited a few Haven camps and have always enjoyed my stays. Great for kids up to their early teens. Great Vlog as always Tim.
lol
Hiya Tim,nice holiday park, caravan very clean and lovely looks new, small beach near the park, like the other beaches
you drove too, fish and chips taste the best by seaside, didn't think Gaby breakfast wasn't good especially the bacon, great for family's holidays, and beautiful views, hope you all had a great time and thumbs is super cute .
Thanks Joseph
I have been WAITING for this. Stayed in one last week, had a few issues, (bits of dried food, and some rubbish under the couch), as a saver, but it was absolutely brilliant. Nice site as well, but a bit far away from Blackpool to travel publically.
We've done Parkdean for years, but decided to give Haven a go last year and went fleetwood. Considering we had a saver due to having a dog, I was surprised how nice even their cheapest caravans were! We're doing Marton Mare in August because it seems to offer more so we're sort of comparing atm! I find Haven have way better arcades!
Went to Marton mare last year and it was lovely. Walked out dogs legs off round the nature reserve.
Lovely to see Casper walking, you’ll have to do a live walk with him with reigns/ backpack reign thing, one of you with Casper in hand, the other with the pram as back up for tired legs 😂
a very well put video review at a haven holiday park! really enjoyed this tim and gabby! this is making me very excited for my caravan holiday in wales, abergele! enjoy tim and gabby !! x
Thanks Chelsea
I was there late 60's with a mixed Pathfinder group, only heating was a portable gas fire with no flue😨 had a brilliant time
I too remember holidays at Rockley Sands as a kid, lots of good memories.
Well done all of you and Jade-Marie for this masterpiece, brilliant
who??
We always stayed on holiday Parks when the kids were younger. Now peak season the cost is crazy. It’s actually cheaper to go on a cruise in many cases
I know crazy
We live right by rockley and it's a great park, before we moved to Poole we had a caravan in rockley they're really helpful at rockley and they'd definitely allow you to move to another van away from the railway line and will help you move, they did exactly that for us before the park is nowhere near full this time of year
Hi Tim and Gaby. You brought back childhood memories of staying there when I was a kid and my sister was like Casper as there is a 12 year ahe gag. Thank you for sharing it with us. It has changed quite alot though.
Thanks Tim n Family 🤗
Came back from a short stay at Haven Thornwick bay last week, used to use Haven all the time when my kids were young, I have to say it was exceptional. Beautiful place but used it more as a base and the caravan was the same standard (I think) as the one on your pic. It was a fantastic caravan.
yes caravan holidays are great for exploring around the area
Going here next week. First time with Haven usually do Parkdean or Hoseasons.
Done 2 or 3 Haven holidays since Covid. Family loved them all. No complaints from me. Other than breakfast the one you are at looks really nice. Fish n chips is the law on a holiday, or any seaside outing.
Will be going to my 5th haven holiday park next month and I must say I do have good and bad opinions about some of them.
whats the bad review about them
Yes I’ve done my full magic show to just one table for the last few weeks haha we work hard on holiday parks thanks for the acknowledgment Tim.
We just stayed in a caravan exactly like this at haven , we paid £59 for 4 nights it was suppose to be a saver caravan which is the basic you can imagine how we felt when we saw the upgrade we had dishwasher and everything and even had a sea view ❤
£59 for 4 nights. Bargain!
@@helenwoodason8053 I know we were spoilt
Only down side to this channel is Prices arent for anyone who has school age children has to go in schools close Prices go through the roof 7days =£1000 plus for 4 guests self catering then travel plus food extra for passes and other activities..?? 😮 No not a Karen 😊just being honest
You are right down the bottom end .
Pay more and stay nearer centre.
I go every year and love the fact it's dog friendly.
I don't use the entertainment as no kids anymore
"we can be the first to use the cheese grater, I don't think anyone's used that"
*immediately shows previous person's grated cheese stuck in the grater " 😂
Thought you had trailer parks in usa with those trump supporters he loves so much 😆
i wish we americans had such a thing, would be a great way for families on vacay.
Its not a train track, its a Railway Line.
Also, we had issues with the sliding doors too at first 😂
Not just us then lol
Defo not yous 🤣
Great review. I've not been on caravan holiday. Your stay has given me a good insight on what to expect. Thought it was unfair Haven didn't offer some compensation busy/noisy train & importanly paying caravan with balcony but cannot have access because door/lock is faulty.
Looks like it’s gonna be a good video. Have you been to any Parkdean or Park Holiday parks, if not you should go check them out as well 👍
I will be very soon :-)
Hi Tim, went to Haven Seashore with my kids and was impressed with the activities on offer for kids. I think you'd appreciate Haven more when Casper is a couple of years older.
My favourite one so far primrose valley.. and rockly park

Thank you tim.for sharing your weeks holiday you were lucky with nice blue skies that cottages on your drive down too beach were beautiful thank you

You guys are great presenters, very natural, informative and honest. Great reviews every time...keep up the good work 👏
As a child I thought all holidays were in static caravans.
I told you both befor the IsleofWight
