Great points you've made! 📸I love to print, although we don't have a place to print big in here. Even A4 image looks better in hands, it is finally Real. I also have several photos on my wall, great way to value and remember your art!
You said it perfectly with, "it's finally real." That's such a true statement. It honestly makes you appreciate the photo more and somewhat proud too. Love your insights. Thanks for sharing!
The first reason is just stupid. You can backup your work to a point where only a global apocalypse would destroy it forever. And in most cases, if you do back up your work in at least two different places, the chances of it being lost are less than if your backup is a print. The only real reasons to print your photos are watching them printed, which can give you a different perspective as a photographer, and selling or displaying your work. That alone should be more than enough to print your best photos.
Your opinion is valid and welcomed. While I do agree that the chances of hardware failure can be low it is still not impossible. Let's say you have multiple drives installed to your PC or NAS and there's an electrical shortage, it can put those drives at risk! I didn't say this in the video, but it's for sure impossible to print all your photos as a backup but pick and choose. I do agree with printing for different perspectives, selling, displaying but also for sentimental reasons. I appreciate your comment and I'm always open to a good discussion.
