I actually like the timechecks he gives as it gives a good sense of scale and effort it takes. 25 buckets mixed and up a ladder in an hour is showing off - I'd manage about half that on a good day!
jesus i wish i was taught like this holy cow its amazing. I got tied upside down and my bollocks black jacked for making a mistake. Good bricklayer and good teacher well done mate
Just clicked from my recommended, I didn’t realise how enjoyable I would find your trade. I work on cars atm I might have to trade in the spanner’s for the trowels. Subscribed
@@IzzytheBricky . No problem at all buddy 😁. Hope this week hasn’t wrecked your head too much . When I was an apprentice we had got a big detached up to plate, it had four windows 2 up 2 down and a big central arched window on the stairs . Brick up to joist then block and render above to have Tudor timbers on top ( 🤢it was the eighties 🤣🤣) anyway one night after a howler the whole front blew in and took most of the Floor with it, 😱 good job it happened over night. Anyway my grumpy boss was very grumpy that week . It’s a horrible feeling finding it and gut wrenching re building the same wall . Good luck with the supervisory role but don’t let them take the piss 🤙🏾🤙🏾🧱👍🏽😉
the blocks are Approx 26kg Each. as knackered tiler, ( osteoarthritis, to neck, shoulder, back) I use to carry approx 38kg on my shoulder up ladders, very rare we had a forklift. take easy you 2, as you'll be knackered as well.
If that had been me, as I lifted the last bucket on to the deck, I would have slipped on the layer of sweat that I had left after lifting all the previous buckets. Shows some good fitness.
another awesome video mate, years ago when using natural timber joist they weren't fitted tight, they had to have room to expand and contract, just something to consider on differing opinions. I have to say you may well be the best youtube bricklayer I have seen in respect of trying to teach and educate others. Most are just trying to show off how good they are where as you are trying to pass on what you've learnt. I take my hat off to you Izzy
Scott, thanks so much mate! Really appreciate your kind words Brilliant that you've been watching from the start and have seen how far the videos and myself have come! Have a great weekend
@@IzzytheBricky You will get differential movement between the mortar and the timber so it will not be air tight whatever you do after a year of changing seasons. Structural wise though its much better and it will only matter when your target at air pressure testing time is under 5 but an end cap sealed to the face of the blockwork with mastic is your best bet for high performance airtightness wise over time. Keep up the good work and great to see care being taken and pride in the job!
Why do non-bricklayers watch this? I work in an office in a job that has nothing to do with the building industry. Far far from it... but I watch all your videos. They're a big help to pickup tips and advice for my garden room build. And I like that sound of the trowel running along the bricks and blocks as you cut off the excess. Oddly calming...! More than that... you and the team are a happy and positive bunch and you encourage your apprentices. Drew is coming along fast and its good to see! Hoping you use that monster trowel on a windy day. Might just catch the wind and blow you down south so you can price me my extension.. 🤣
😂😂😂 love the last bit about the wind haha thanks so much for watching the videos mate I really appreciate it! Fantastic to see how many people's such as yourself can pick up tips from them! Drew is doing great! Have a good Sunday Jaimin! New video tomorrow ☺️

Hi, been watching your work and progress a while now. Well done and grab the opportunities that come your way and see where it takes you! How about adding a small electric hoist to the scaffold on a swivel jib to save all that climbing up and down the ladders with buckets of compo/bricks/blocks?
Thanks so much and thank you again for watching for a while ☺️ definitely going to sort some sort of system out soon mate! Not got long left here anyway now 💪

You seem a great teacher, not a bad bricky either, well done
Thanks Will, appreciate it
I actually like the timechecks he gives as it gives a good sense of scale and effort it takes. 25 buckets mixed and up a ladder in an hour is showing off - I'd manage about half that on a good day!
Cheers mate appreciate it
Keep it up bro loving the videos 👍
Thanks dude 💪
Real nice work love the videos pal
Cheers fella appreciate it
Really satisfying watch......for some reason 🤔🧙♂️🤔
Such great videos buddy
Thanks so much mate! New one tomorrow
jesus i wish i was taught like this holy cow its amazing. I got tied upside down and my bollocks black jacked for making a mistake. Good bricklayer and good teacher well done mate
Thanks so much mate really appreciate it
Machine mate, day in day out! Respect!
Thanks mate! New video Monday 💪
Just clicked from my recommended, I didn’t realise how enjoyable I would find your trade. I work on cars atm I might have to trade in the spanner’s for the trowels. Subscribed
Thanks so much respect and much appreciated! Glad you enjoyed the video mate! It's a mint trade bro 💪
Keep pumping it drew is coming along nicely good on him
Drew is still making fantastic progress this week too 💪💪
Mate you’re a grafter, love seeing others digging deep when against it single handed 💪👍
Thanks brother 💪💪 appreciate it mate
Luv ya work brother. Affirming the apprentice instead of rubbish it him. Good trader, good man.
Content is so good now, keep up the work!
Thanks so much Alex, really enjoying this new format
Nice one Izzy , I hope the wages have increased with your stress levels.
Serious Izzy this week buddy good-stuff yes yes 🤜🏻🤛🏻🧱👍🏼
Sorry for the late reply Steve 😂 thanks so much mate, really appreciate your support, hope you know this 🤜🤛😘
@@IzzytheBricky .
Hard hard work bro. Keep it up 👍🏼
Thanks bro
Your good man.
Well done.
Thanks very much John
Fair play buddy, great grafter.

Cheers mate
Your a good lad teaching your lads properly.
Cheers David!
You are a real credit sir !..
Cheers fella
I'm shocked when I compare your performance with myself. If I had a colleague like you, I would be happy to come to work, respect!
Interesting video and good patient training of your apprentice.
Cheers mate appreciate it! Always like to be patient with the lads
Sarrrrrrnnnd mate. Great vid as always
Saaaaaarnd mate!!
First time watching in a few months bcoz of work and everything changed love the intro
Thanks so much bro and glad to have you back! 🤜🤛
Great work Drew 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Top lad ain't he
Not sure how I ended up here but enjoyed watching. Cheers
Haha thanks for watching mate 🙂 have a great weekend
the blocks are Approx 26kg Each. as knackered tiler, ( osteoarthritis, to neck, shoulder, back) I use to carry approx 38kg on my shoulder up ladders, very rare we had a forklift. take easy you 2, as you'll be knackered as well.
I hate hodding tiles up ladders 😭 take it easy too mate! Thanks for watching
served my time back in the early 80's 1000 facing bricks a day on a good day. Loved the job. Just wish my knees were still up to it
Thanks for the comment, mate really appreciate it
Thanks for the comment, mate really appreciate it
If that had been me, as I lifted the last bucket on to the deck, I would have slipped on the layer of sweat that I had left after lifting all the previous buckets. Shows some good fitness.
Drizzy the bricky, rising fast in the game 🔥
Yeaaa buddy 💪💪
another awesome video mate, years ago when using natural timber joist they weren't fitted tight, they had to have room to expand and contract, just something to consider on differing opinions.
Nice Charlie reference. You are a sound brickie 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Cheers brother appreciate it 🤜🤛
Some graft there boy's. Drew's going to do alright learning of you fella!.
Thanks mate! Was a hard week...this week was so much harder though 😂 new episode Monday! He's a great lad! Trying my best to get him there 💪
Why do non-bricklayers watch this?
So therapeutic watching you
Not a brickie, but religously watch all of your vids! would love to hear why Drew decided not to go ahead with the royal marines? Personally think he's made a good decision. You 2 make a great team and skilled trades are in short supply. Keep up the good work lads👏
Thanks mate! I can't quite say for sure, but I think he perhaps realised the potential and really enjoys what he does and what he's turning into, a mint grafter who's becoming a decent improver💪💪
Not got long left here anyway now 💪
We do things differently but your end product looks really good.
Great job
