Then there are lakes that seem more like large swamps.

Growing up in Memphis, we used to go to a lake occasionally (Mckellar?) We were told not to touch the bottom because it was full of cow poop, so we had to jump in and tread water. Of course we'd inevitably have to get out and touch the bottom. It was some kind of sticky icky brown stuff that we had to scrape off, so maybe it really was cow poop? And then there's the stories of "balls" of cottonmouth snakes attacking and killing water skiers.
James Austin Johnson is from Nashville and Nate specifically is from Old Hickory. Between OH Lake and the Percy Priest, I'm relatively sure 99% of this sketch came from them talking about their experiences at the two.

I wasn't even aware what cornhole was until the start of the pandemic. ESPN brought back "The Ocho" because the rest of the sports world shut down and the first thing that they really started to show was cornhole.
As someone from Long Island and who lived in the Carolinas for 3 years, I felt this in my bones. Going to the lake was an event I could never mentally prepare for.

I wasn't even aware what cornhole was until the start of the pandemic. ESPN brought back "The Ocho" because the rest of the sports world shut down and the first thing that they really started to show was cornhole.
As someone from Long Island and who lived in the Carolinas for 3 years, I felt this in my bones. Going to the lake was an event I could never mentally prepare for.
