My great grandma came from Albania to the U.S. and only knew me as a baby. I am happy to be able to learn Albanian in hopes to travel to the country someday!!
My paternal grandparents came from Albania in 1911 and 1923 respectively. Very excited to be traveling to Albania for the first time in a few months with some of my cousins. Knowing at least some of the basics of the language will be helpful

I find it fascinating how there are two major Albanian languages, Tosk and Gheg. Is it easy for a Gheg speaker to understand Tosk and vise versa? A friend of mine from Korcë that spoke to a girl from Durrës and they couldn't understand each other very well so they switched to Greek(one living in Crete and the other in Athens). I thought it was a nice story! :)

Is "ckemi" used as a construction like "hi, how are you?" that way the reply would make more sense. Thank you in advance!

why is there so many people who if someone says "How are you?" or "whats up?" and basically these things they will say (Especially in a TEACHING setting)... That you "Should" say "Fine" right????? But .... What if you not "fine" then??? So then in Albanian answer will be what for, for example, not that good or I dont know??? :)
