Thanks did mine today, perfect. Mine was actually dangerous the way it braked in uncontrolled surges especially going down hill and round a bend in loose gravel. I’ve been driving almost 60 years and my 1 year old truck thought it knew more about driving than I do!
Thank you very much! That was the bad thing I notice when I jumped from the last Jimny (JB3) to the Sierra. I couldn't have pleasure any more to drive and play in sand because that traction control. Now you give me a simple solution without to eliminate safety when necessary in roads for instance.

Hi sir! Love your video, i just bought a 2021 jimny here in the middle east and yeah i cant even climb a small sand dunes because of this traction control, its so annoying.. Currently i saw this plug under my dashboard but it is connected with black and tan wire, should i remove that and insert that DIY small wire instead?
I've found more convenient to put a flip switch serial with the esp fuse. In this case you can cutoff the esp as long and when you want it even when riding.
You are cutting a minimal amount of Amp with the switch unless you are using ABS or ESP when you flip it. The switch works very well for my use. I am very happy with the mod.

Hi Smokey. I have the GL manual, which is probably not available in your country. I am from South Africa. Unfortunately mine doesn't work the same as your Jimny. Could you possibly tell me how to turn mine off? I have the standard 2 tone info between the dials.
Hi Gareth. Did you manage to "short" this out? I have the same trouble with a GL manual and is close to just pulling out the fuse. Despite having 3 years warranty left and risking a deurmekaar ECU.
I put new tpms sensors in the new wheels so i could keep my original wheel with the tires on it. They can just copy the data from original wheels into the new ones 😁
@@manuelabella2589Hi. Could you please elaborate how you did it, and what model JB74 you have? I have a "simpler" version and haven't had success enabling the ESP maintenance mode.
I couldn't get a cable about as thick as yours into the plug. I managed to get one or two individual wires in, but they slipped out again. The whole wire didn't go in, although it looked suitable. I don't understand how you managed that. Your cable doesn't slip out either. But what's hard to get out is also hard to get in, isn't it? Help 😟😅
2022 Jimny in Mexico, doesnt work 😢 used different paper clips and finally a decent size wire, had it perfectly connected but it didn't work. We also dont have the black and white screen from factory.
Hi Smokey. I just can't seem to turn mine off. I've got a silver paperclip jammed in both sides of the plug and when I hit the traction control button after all the lights go out (including the airbag light) nothing comes up on the day about maintenance mode. I've taken it for test drives to see like someone else commented about it was off but didn't say it on the dash, but no joy with mine. I've got a 2021 Commercial right hand drive 'wrong side!' Any ideas?
No that's weird , most people who follow my steps say it works 😁. Make sure you don't start the gear , don't have it in gear , don't hold the brake and so on. 😅
It worked Thanks! Anyone who's struggling to make it work the first wire I used was to thin so I tried a paperclip and that too was to thin also, so used some thick electrical wire and that made it work perfectly.
I need help, I tried this and the ESP didn't go into maintenence mode. I tried with a paperclip as well as lugs. Would you be able to guess what may have gone wrong? I have a 2021 model jimny.
The second your dash lights go out after you turn on your ignition you need to hold the ESP OFF switch for 8 seconds. Hold it to fast or to late and it will not work. That's most likely gonna be the reason 😊
you can get it but way more expensive now and 2 seats only... I know the back seats are useless but it's nice to have the option to get more than 2 people in it :/
Just a small tip. Take the glove box out, it helps alot. The connector is visible on the right side of the blower motor, electrical taped to several other wires. (change the cabin filter at the same time).
An other easier way to cut off only esp, is to push a green bouton up the brake peddle. After turning on the car, pushing the brake and looking up the green bouton, push it for ~5 sec, the esp off will light up on the dashboard
don't do that, you throw a fault code to the ABS/ESP ECU after doing this..... the system thinks the brake pressure switch is defective/malfunction..... ABS not working/hill assist not working
It's really important you only start pressing the traction control switch when the lights on the dash go out. To soon or to fast and it doesn't work.....might be indeed another problem :-)

It is a 40amp fuse that you're bypassing, with a 10amp switch at best. Could become a fire hazard. Have you considered a solenoid?
